Hey @grok what’s the average speed of internet in Europe?

As of mid-2025, the average median download speed across European countries is about 110 Mbps for mobile internet and 160 Mbps for fixed broadband, per data. It varies widely—e.g., Denmark hits 203 Mbps mobile, while others lag below 50 Mbps. Ethiopia's urban 5G can indeed surpass some European averages!

The tragically fateful day was March 10, 2019. Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 was bound from Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya. Minutes after takeoff, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft crashed near the town of Bishoftu less than 30 kilometers from Addis Ababa. All 149 passengers and 8 crew members on board died. Boeing tried to blame the Ethiopian flight crew for the accident, but the US National Transportation Safety Board determined the Ethiopia flight crew did what they had to do by the Boeing book, but were still unable to control the plane. Ethiopian Airlines Captain Yared Getachew, with over 8,000 flight hours, was the youngest to serve as a Boeing 737 captain in the airline's history. Captain Yared and his co-pilot struggled as the 737 Max 8’s systems repeatedly forced the nose of the plane down. The reason for the crash was Boeing’s depraved and corrupt conduct resulting in the “deadliest corporate crime in U.S. history.” On June 18, 2024, a US federal judge ordered release of confidential documents from a civil case that could result in criminal prosecution of Boeing officials. There are those who try to sully and scandalize the name of Ethiopia Airlines. They should be careful as there are serious civil and criminal liabilities for slander and defamation under Ethiopian law. ETHIOPIA: The ethically motivated forced displacement and demographic engineering in Oromia and Addis Ababa is a form of ethnic-cleansing and must immediately stop. In a country that currently holds the world record for the most number of internally displaced people (IDP), it's inhumane and counter-productive for the Ethiopian govt to conduct forced eviction and home demolition campaigns. An immediate moratorium on demolishing and forced evictions must be declared! According to local media, survivors and eyewitnesses, thousands of residents and students in the Kolfe neighborhood of Addis Ababa were attacked today by police for protesting the government's demolition of homes and the forced evictions of thousands of families in and around Addis Ababa. Just a few days ago, the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) - ኢሰመኮ) condemned the government for these ethnically motivated discriminatory evictions and human rights violations. Pushing ethnic minorities in the Oromia region and the people of Addis Ababa into a corner will backfire on Abiy Ahmed Ali 🇪🇹 and exacerbate the unprecedented humanitarian crises in #Ethiopia. Today's unrest in the Kolfe (ኮልፌ) neighborhood of Addis Ababa is a sign. We call for an immediate eviction moratorium in and around Addis Ababa to stop the unnecessary and massive displacement of citizens. 📌In the last few days there has been a lot of discussion largely among many #India|ns 🇮🇳 and #Kenya|ns 🇰🇪 about #AddisAbaba and its development. While it is encouraging that people want to learn from one another, some of the posts and comments are shockingly condescending, based on false, old or outdated stereotypes and some are even insulting. To clear up some misinformation, 1) Most of the pictures and clips that show the newly developed #AddisAbaba are not just from one area or "just one nice boulevard". The development is citywide in all of the city's corners. Like any other major metropolis, Addis has its fair share of congestions and less developed areas. However, currently, it is for certain by far one of the safest and cleanest cities in #Africa. 2) Urban developments and renewals are happening in almost ALL cities in #Ethiopia. Not just in #AddisAbaba. One can debate the merits or demerits of prioritizing to finance such projects countrywide, especially in a country of 135 million people and a landmass of 1.1 Million Square Kilometers without resorting to antics and childish name calling. That would be fine. Because from debates, ideas are born. But to insult, belittle and nastiness towards an entire people and a country, especially by some commentators, seemingly just to cover up for weaknesses of whatever party or officials they support is really sad and inappropriate. Here on this clip, one can see urban renewal developments of different cities in #Ethiopia that are far away from #AddisAbaba. Addis IS NOT included in this clip, in order to provide evidence that this project is countrywide. #Gonder #Hawassa #BahirDar #Mekelle #Jimma #Jigjiga
