Alcohol is not safe. That is true, but the long-term effects of on your brain or lungs from pot are not safe either. And just saying it’s less damaging than alcohol is simply false. It is just different. Not the same does not mean better. They used to try to sell us margarine using the same logic.

I don't believe pot is a problem as far as health or mental acuity. The problem, number one, is how and who distributes weed. Foreign actors have monopolized the dispensaries. They don't seem to care what they spray on the plants. Even with laws banning certain substances from being sprayed and/or possessed, these Foreign actors still smuggle dangerous chemicals and apply them to the product which poisons the users. They play gods by genetically modifying pot as well, with zero oversight. There needs to be oversight on these dispensaries and who runs them. Whenever Foreign entities become involved as they have, it's a problem. There needs to be laws prohibiting some from owning and operating these operations. Legalization has destroyed what weed is about.

What I rarely hear, is anyone talking about how the human brain has an ancient endocannabiniod system— the ECS produces anandamide (the bliss hormone), which is nearly identical to the psychoactive component from cannabis (THC). Our brain literally has a system to accept cannabis as a nutrient (the whole plant is completely healthy), This is not unlike nicotine receptors (nicotine is in nightshades and is hugely important for the body and mind). Check out The Botany of Desire for more on Cannabis’s evolution with humanity in order to unify as a species. Consuming the plant without heating it is non-psychoactive and it has been fully demonized.
