Very narrow lane with a typically poor surface. The cyclist is riding in primary - the centre of the lane to give more options to avoid potholes and prevent a dangerous overtake. Didn't work. The Dacia driver blasted on through at well over 30mph with around 1 metre space.

This driver stopped in the road with engine running, to interact with their phone. This footage was submitted to the Metropolitan Police at the time, but as there has been no action taken by the Met, I'm sharing the video. Driver only moved when a car entered the road & beeped at them.

I personally detest cyclists in the roads as much as anyone but this was an IQ test and the driver failed it. 72 year old Jerry Wayne Ross of Woodstock, Georgia has been arrested for hitting a cyclist and leaving the scene. When police arrived to question him, Ross acknowledged the accident but claimed the cyclists were in the roadway and blamed them for the collision. Mr. Ross has since been charged with aggravated assault, hit-and-run, reckless driving, aggressive driving, and failure to maintain a safe distance from a bicycle.
