Today, I brought forward an amendment to request a full report on discretionary expenses for directors and above - but, of course, it didn't pass. This wasn't about pointing fingers; it was about accountability. When trips to places like the Banff Springs Hotel or $4,000 stays at luxury conferences... show more

Thank @SonyaSharpYYC for trying to bring transparency to the city council. This proves just how much some on the City Council fears that, and how much they disrespect tax paying Calgarians.

It is sad state of affairs, all of Calgary should be ashamed of the Administration and the hateful 8

Of course it didn’t pass….the hateful 8 and the ring leader are colluding to waste tax payer money

The one that really got me was $300 for chocolate expensed at the same time as a $1000/night stay at the Banff Springs Hotel. How dare they, when Calgarians weren't allowed to even turn on their garden hoses for five hot, smokey summer months!

Maybe the issue of pensions has come up but I haven't seen it. There are some 2,200 city employees who get a second and third pension. These cost around $15,000,000 per year. They need to be eliminated... completely. Why hasn't this been discussed?

Why don’t you publish who voted against this?

Hi Steve, the members of Council that voted against my motion were Mayor Gondek, Councillors Carra, Penner, Mian, Pootmans, Dhaliwal, Demong, Walcott and Spencer.

cockroaches hate the light

I was disgusted that this didn't pass. Most every single work trip I've been on usually included a small report or presentation to my boss on what my learnings were + how their investment will benefit the company. Admin needs an overhaul.

Accountability? Never ever will happen. Thankfully an election is coming.
