Very cool! It's true, as others have said, that lots of people are working on Markdown apps, but I think you and are working in a very compelling part of the design space. A markdown writing product that takes the good parts from the early Cursor product, such as inline editing and review as well as straightforward agents, makes a lot of sense. Fast, human-in-the-loop agentic flows feel even more important for writing than for code. I'm working on which lets people extract and publish portions of their Markdown context graphs to HTML microsites (and very soon Google's OKF format bundles). I need to add your tool as another upstream along with Neverwrite, Tolaria, and Bear's new Lettera markdown editor.

It would be nice if, like Obsidian, it could also support small HTML artifacts inside it. That would allow Claude to generate diagrams, visual explanations, and things like that directly within the workspace.

flashtype has out of the box version control and claude/codex integrations. uses your local markdown files as well though. so you can use both obsidian and flashtype :)

open a markdown file in a small folder first. we have a bug atm if you open markdown files in a large directory

Inline diffs are underrated for agent-written docs. My version for team docs: every Claude/Codex edit should show what changed, why it changed, and what still needs a human decision before the markdown gets merged.

Hmmm can you prompt claude/codex to file an issue with a minimal reproduction?

I am pretty sure that the issue is related to folder size... The folder I opened has pngs (for obsidian) and many different data sets inside of it. Size is 12gb. The markdown-output folder itself also takes a lot of time to open (size here is 1gb).

Yep the dir size is the problem. Flashtype eagerly syncs files into a local lix repo for version control. I am going to investigate making this lazy and only for file descriiptors over the weekend

Helpful for a lot of people who just copy and paste the AI answers and believe all of it without checking it 🫶🏼

Tracking the diffs is the unlock. Claude/Codex edits get much more usable once every change leaves a reviewable trail, because you can see what changed, what broke, and where human judgment still gates the workflow.
