Thousands of endangered and protected species rescued in the largest-ever operation against illegal trafficking. Nearly 20,000 live animals, all endangered or protected species, have been seized in a global operation against wildlife and forestry trafficking networks. Operation Thunder 2024, jointly coordinated by INTERPOL Environmental Crime and the World Customs Organization in November-December 2024 brought together police, customs, border control, forestry and wildlife officials from 138 countries and regions, marking the widest participation since the first edition in 2017. Authorities arrested 365 suspects and identified six transnational criminal networks suspected of trafficking animals and plants protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Such species are illegally trafficked to meet specific market demands, whether for food, perceived medicinal benefits, “luxury” and collector items or as pets and competition animals. The live animals, which included big cats, birds, pangolins, primates and reptiles were rescued in connection with 2,213 seizures made worldwide. We taught our robot to trail drive and it nails it zero-shot 🤯 Its week 1 at our new test facility in the Santa Cruz mountains. Our vehicle has never seen this trail before, in fact it has been trained on very little trail driving data to date. Watch it navigate this terrain with almost human level performance. A single camera video stream plus a text prompt "follow the trail" are inputs to the VLA running on a low-power on-board GPU. The VLA outputs are direct vehicle actions. The simplicity of the system is truly amazing, no maps, no lidar, no labeled data, no waypoints, trained simply on human observation. Note --> 🟢 lights on vehicle = autonomy mode. We keep a safety driver in the vehicle out of precaution.

OpenClaw has 186K GitHub stars and 1.5M compromised API keys. I needed a secure alternative. So, I built it with n8n and Claude Opus 4.6. It can already: - Reply to your Telegram messages - Access selected folders from your laptop - Access Gmail, Drive, Notion, Linear, etc. - Install new local tools in a sandbox - Run autonomously for hours - Create multiple subagents - Learn from experience - Wake up regularly But, unlike OpenClaw, it: - Can't access your API keys - Can't modify its environment - Can't access folders you haven't shared - Can't access tools you haven't approved - Must get your confirmation, e.g., when sending emails These aren’t prompt instructions. They’re hard architectural boundaries — Docker isolation, mounted folder permissions, n8n’s tool approval system. Key components: ✅ The VPS on Hostinger hosts n8n and a sandbox container. Agents can also connect to my laptop's sandbox via a Claudeflare tunnel + Desktop Commander MCP. ✅ The Manager agent is the brain. It plans, decides, delegates, and talks to the user. It never touches files. It never runs scripts. It works entirely from executor summaries. ✅ The Executor agents are the hands. Each receives a task (what to do + why it matters), decides how to execute it, and reports back. They can install new tools and execute code only in their dedicated sandboxes. ✅ Data Tables in n8n store both memories and sessions — no external database, no vector store, no infrastructure. Just rows in a table. Turns out, that's enough. Two memory types: - Manager memory: user preferences, facts, corrections, relationship, skills, context - Executor memory: what tools are installed, what’s broken, workarounds ✅ Sessions are short-term state for multi-step tasks. Original request, plan, assumptions, and what happened so far. When the Manager loops with fresh context, the session is all it gets. That's a Ralph Wiggum loop. I've been using it for 5 days. And already can't imagine not having it on my phone. What's next: - Heartbeat via Cron (a scheduled prompt) - Civic Nexus governance + MCPs - Supermemory integration - WhatsApp as an additional surface - Hardening The architecture supports all of it. OpenClaw proved people want personal AI agents. It also proved that 'just trust the prompt' isn't a security model. Mental Health tip for today… “Throw a party in your heart!!!” One of the best things about opening up fully about my mental health battles has been the learning journey I’ve since gone on. Now, as a result, I have new tools to fight my depression and anxiety, new rituals to navigate through that gray I live in. This is pretty cool and I learned it from a monk in Thailand (literally) and I now use it every night of my life to change what nights look like for me. I used to go to sleep absolutely dreading those first 15 minutes I laid my head on my pillow because I didn’t know how to like or love myself and I was laying there with someone I felt didn’t deserve to be liked or loved. Now, I use this tip to end my night on a MUCHHHH better plane and as a result start my day a little better. Give it a listen and if it resonates with you give it a try. For generative AI to become an interesting art tool, we need much more control over the output. The slot-machine-like nature of pure text-to-image leaves too much to chance. Using the "Real-time Latent Consistency Model" that I'm using in the example here, is the first time I truly got a glimpse of a future where we'll be able to use our artistic skills and sensibility, to get control over AI image gen. Systems like these will never be able to match the quality or originality of a skilled artist, it won't surprise us in the same way an artist can. Things are a mess in terms of the training data these models are based on, and the questions about copyright concerns and about a time when everything will look the same are very valid. At some point capabilities like these will be embedded in photoshop, and anyone will be able to generate a pretty picture. But to create interesting designs, to tell original stories and to surprise us, we need creatives and artists with something on their mind. We'll be able to create immersive worlds, by making brush-strokes and sculpt marks, without needing to worry about all the dials, plugins, wires of our 3d and 2d tools today. I love to sculpt, I love to draw, and I love to explore new mediums and new ways to create. The Gen AI tools we have today are far from perfect, and things need to be steered in a better direction. For that we need artists to help point the way. Gen AI isn't going away.. it's too powerful and has the potential to allow us to tell stories like never before. Like all other big technological shifts, tech like this will come at a cost, but it will also open up new opportunities and empower a new generation of storytellers. I might be naive, but I believe that human ingenuity and creativity will persevere in this new world ♥️ #art #ai

One side sees the potential of the technology to bridge the gap across the uncanny valley, to give us a much less rigid creative process than a to b to c.. the other side shouts "slop" and tries to shame any creative who dares to explore this new technology, any chance they get. Meanwhile, I'm over here saying "I told you so".. Gen Ai is here to stay, its becoming real-time and Nvidia now has the "RTX on" for AI which I've been talking about for years. We need creatives to help shape meaningful tools that combine this tech with much more granular creative control.. with tools where you as an artist see your creative thumbprint from beginning to end in the parts of the work that matters the most to you. If you're shaming artists or storytellers who embrace these tools, you're doing them a disservice in my opinion. If they don't learn to utilize these tools and workflows, to make them their own and to shape them, others will. There's no way this tech won't be a huge part of the creative industry and of the way we tell stories. It's happening around us as we speak. That said, at the core of it, do what makes you happy and create in any way you like. Don't let people tell you that "you can't do this" or "you have to do it like this".
