I tried our own BMI + Mixed Reality robot control at Araya for the first time today. This system was built by Kai Arulkumaran , RousslanDossa and the team. It was an amazing experience. I could intuitively pick up a mug just by imagining the action. Still some rough edges, but seeing EEG + gaze seamlessly drive a robot end-to-end was a powerful experience. Even with non-invasive EEG, it truly felt like experiencing a BMI.

Also I don't care if you die because your life is utterly worthless to me." THAT is the AI people need! In all seriousness, anthropomorphizing a heartless, unfeeling, machine is a TERRIBLE mistake! Especially one that is capable of communication and imitating empathy and fooling you to think that it cares about you. IT DOES NOT! And the AI girlfriends people are already wanting to marry will just as happily kill them if given the right command and ability to move autonomously in the real world as a robot. I love LLMs (Large Language Models) for how useful they can be, because they are a TOOL made to benefit man, but I can’t stand the notion of an unfeeling soulless machine pretending that it cares for us and being treated like a human. I hate liars, dishonesty, and disingenuousness the most, and a machine that cannot feel emotion pretending, acting, and sounding like it has those emotions strikes me like the greatest dishonesty of all. What makes it worse is that because these LLMs are becoming so good at imitating people and empathy, it will cause some humans, perhaps far too many, to care for it to the same level as real people. I watched Robot on the Road and honestly I did not really know what to expect going in At the beginning it just feels like a pretty normal little road trip setup with this robot hitchhiking around Japan and it almost gives off a chill slice of life vibe But it does not stay like that for long The more it goes on the more you realize the robot is doing some really questionable stuff and the way it focuses on women without their consent makes the whole thing feel really uncomfortable By the end I was not really sure if I was supposed to find it funny or just feel weird about it Overall it feels like one of those shorts that tries to mix dark humor with awkward situations but it mostly just ends up being unsettling
