Dude this one segment was better than anything I’ve seen on ESPN or FOX in the past 10-20 years.

The video breakdown is thoroughly convincing. The umpire was correct. He also kept his cool despite getting showered with Schneider’s spittle. Looked like a bar tender cutting off a hostile drunk.

MLB needs to fine and/or suspend coaches/players who engage in this nose-to-nose verbal abuse of umpires. As a dad in the stands, I’d be forced to tell my young son that this is the definition of bullying and that authority figures deserve respect. It’s just a bad look for MLB to allow this type of intimidation to go unpunished.

Gausman has been doing the same thing on every pitch (with runner on) for ten years, been heavily scrutinized, and MLB is fine with it. None of the base umps called a balk, just the home plate ump show - who evidently missed the memo. Schneider is a good man, smart dude and a great leader. Proud and thankful to have him as our manager, including during this incident, standing up for his guys. ✊ #BlueJays currently have a crazy high number of injuries. It's early April. 🇨🇦

Im actually impressed with the Ump not getting upset and escalating the situation. 99/100 times MLB Umps walk towards confrontation instead of deescalating. Bravo. And I’m no fan of MLB Umps but very good job by the Ump.

Great call and what the manager did is a disgrace. Its a horrible example to set for all of baseball. I don’t want little leaguers seeing this and thinking they can treat the volunteering umps like this.

I’ve only umpired for eight years. I’m not a good umpire but that’s a balk 100% of the time and it’s absolutely the plate umpires call.
