Maritime Administrator Stephen Carmel of DOT Maritime Administration was asked about the Jones Act waiver initiated by the President Donald J. Trump administration before the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing today. A few key points. 1️⃣The waiver was approved by the Department of War 🇺🇸 and Homeland Security. Neither the Maritime Administration or U.S. Department of Transportation were consulted. 2️⃣I COMPLETELY DISAGREE with Administrator Carmel comment that "I support it." He should not support it and should voice his opposition to the actions by Stephen Miller and Kevin Hassett in the White House. 3️⃣The mission of MARAD is to foster, promote and develop the maritime industry of the US. Carmel should have taken that question to emphasize the need to build more US domestic tankers and disagree with the current abuses of the waiver, i.e. the use of a Chinese ship to carry asphalt which John Garamendi noted later. 4️⃣The Jones Act waiver report posted by MARAD, after the completion of the waiver should contain an analysis on the justification and need for the waiver by MARAD. 5️⃣Administrator Carmel notes that under 501(a) that MARAD is not involved in the waiver process. "I'd like to tell you that this is a result of last week being a bank week—a week for the World Bank and the IMF. And on Wednesday, I was convinced we wouldn't do it. He said many residents failed to participate in last month’s exercise, instead remaining at home until the allocated time elapsed. This Maru Jwala exercise was actually the final phase of the last two months' operations. This means that for two months, the Sudarshan Chakra Corps of the Southern Command, which is a strike core, has been training diligently here. Its main unit is the Shahbaz Division, which is a rapid unit. It is also included in this exercise. In addition, the Southern Command's Aviation Brigade, EW Brigade, and Para-SF Battalion. The success achieved by all of them together over the last two months, the fruits of which you all saw this morning under Maru Jwala...The pathfinders are from the 7th Para Battalion and the Airborne Battalion, and they are the final-stage strategic force...I am very happy to say that the Core Commander of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps is also present here with me. The Sudarshan Chakra Corps has trained with such hard work that I am confident that in the times to come, they will incorporate the new generation equipment they have received into their training...I commend the entire Sudarshan Chakra Corps for the way they have worked hard and dedicated themselves..." Was this instruction coming from Mercedes? 🚨 After Leclerc hit the wall, a red flag wasn't immediately shown. Under yellow flags, drivers still had to pit and navigate around the final corner as before. Russell voluntarily offered to serve a stop-and-go penalty in the pits to clear his time. He was 12 seconds ahead of Gasly when he pitted, so even after serving it, he wouldn't lose position. Marcus told him the penalty had been cleared and to wait for Race Control to update.

I wish to sincerely thank everyone who participated in the Fort Portal City clean-up exercise as part of the National Clean-Up Campaign. During the exercise, I discovered two “baby Rwenzori Mountains” made entirely of accumulated garbage. This is a clear reminder that we must strengthen waste management and make cleanliness a shared responsibility. Special thanks to all the leaders who have been part of this campaign. God bless you for your commitment and service to our people. Thank you, MTN Uganda, for partnering with us and supporting this important initiative. We shall clean all local governments across Uganda. Together, we will build cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful communities.

I've always been curious to understand how it happened that General Mkhwanazi as the Presiding Officer of General Khan's disciplinary hearing, cleared him. From this testimony, Commissioners are highlighting gaps from this IPID investigation. This is what Mkhwanazi worked with, the facts in front of him. Commissioner Baloyi's first "scolding" is based on Ms. Maphosho having claimed that the Dog Unit was prevented from searching the Scania yard and disturbed the possibility of a search of other containers that could have been there. Never seen this video until today but boy does Milton Friedman nail it in 1978. In 1978, Milton Friedman explains that the government bears no responsibility for alleviating poverty and that’s it is up to individuals to take action. He argued that the most effective way for people to exercise this responsibility is through the free enterprise system and the free market, which, in his view, have historically been the most powerful tools for reducing poverty. Now you can argue today that we don’t have a complete free enterprise system and I agree with that, but I haven’t seen anyone get out of poverty once they get on that government crack of free money for nothing.

Today, we had a detailed meeting with our 12 PCC Presidents, CLP leaders, General Secretaries, and senior leaders regarding the SIR exercise. The general feeling within the Pradesh Congress Committee is that the Election Commission is intentionally trying to delete the votes of certain sections of society. The very design of the SIR exercise is aimed at targeting and deleting specific votes. We witnessed this in Bihar as well, and now they are planning to implement it in 12 states. Yesterday, they announced a different Special Revision (SR) for Assam. This is a sinister attempt by the Election Commission to undermine democracy in this country. Their actions are unethical and undemocratic. In Kerala, local body elections are going on. The first phase of elections is happening on 9th December, and BLOs are giving the final list on that date. The Kerala Assembly has passed a resolution to postpone the SIR exercise, but the EC is not listening. BLOs are committing suicide due to extreme work pressure; they are being told to complete the exercise within one month. Why such hurry? It is clear that EC is working on behalf of the BJP and Narendra Modi. Today, we discussed all these issues, and we will fight this. The Congress party will hold a massive rally in the first week of December at Ramleela Maidan in Delhi, where we will expose the Election Commission once again. : Congress General Secretary (Org.)
