Vibe Coding Robotics Part 7 Implemented an ornithopter mechanism with Gemini Pro, and generated a Leonardo da Vinci style UI using Nano Banana to go with it.

The workflow isn't really that different from my other Vibe Coding Robotics posts. However, this one took even longer than it did to build Theo Jansen's Strandbeest simulator. When there are a lot of moving parts, LLMs struggle a lot.

Last part where I built a Theo Jansen's Strandbeest simulator

First part of the series where I walk through the process I use to create these.

what absolutely beautiful work

thanks

Cool

it's beautiful ... i think i said that to the last demo too

thanks lalo

i used screenshots of your apps .. and it made this.

looks amazing!

@Grimezsz im so curious to see what projects you would vibe code😭🥹

Hey this is awesome. I have question which you might have already answered previously but I haven’t come across. How is it that you use nano banana in this? Kinda confusing

thanks

Perfect. My dumb ass was applying giga brain

@hive_echo These UIs are beautiful. How hard would it be to add physics — to calculate the lift, weight, and torques involved?

it can be done, but it takes a lot more prompts and patience 🙂 LLMs are really good at making things look right, so if you ask for something like friction, it might use an ease function that feels correct instead of the actual physics formula. So you end up having to double check and validate everything.

Great, you're building a truly impressive structure!

interesting!

thanks brian

let us try one of these live.

ok thats dope

Beautiful!

thanks Harry

What do you use to animate it btw?

That’s super cool!!

@janinaparker_ Woah wtf! This is insane

This is so cool, great work Dilum

thanks David! haven't seen a demo from you in a while, hopefully we'll get one soon🙂

Haha a week in X time feels like a century, gonna post today stay tuned

What a beautiful work! Would love to see a tutorial of it!

thanks! I actually tried recording a tutorial the other day, but it ended up super long and kind of boring 😂 I'll give it another shot soon.

That will be awesome dude. Looking forward to it!

Wow, this is amazing! Would you mind sharing some ideas on how you achieved this effect?

thanks! details about my workflow are in the posts I linked in the comments. I'll try to create a more detailed tutorial in the future.

its beautiful

nano banana sounds like a meme tool but the output actually looks museum quality.

this is our of control

This is incredible. One of the best examples I’ve seen of AI understanding real world mechanics

@no_inventions thanks Patricio

Really well done

thanks

Cool! I’d love to see you build something useful, no disrespect.

thanks, and no disrespect taken at all🙂 A lot of people vibe code apps that look like stuff we already use every day. Since that's basically what I build for work, I prefer to use my free time to play around with totally different ideas

Fair enough! It’s cool that your career and passions are aligned.

It's just beautiful ✨️

That's fucking sick!

Do you have an animation/kinematics framework reused for all of these or vibe codes from scratch?

I vibe code it from scratch each time. It takes a bit longer, but it's way easier to customize exactly how I want.

Cool

let’s do more of this everyone

cool

Are you somehow allowing the agent to see what it is building on the browser? Like is it able to click images of the browser and then improving its output?

Not yet. I couldn't find a reliable way to automate that, so I'm doing it manually. When something goes wrong, I send Gemini a screenshot of the UI and prompt it to improve the output

Yes, thats an issue i also usually face, if the model does not have a way to reliably see what it is making, then it is unable to improve its outputs.

This is really beautiful!!

Amazing this is so cool

this is cool

thanks

Aesthetics keep everything alive.

çok iyi lan
