It took me 4+ months of full-time work. If you like it, you can support VRCLV’s development on Patreon or check out my other assets on Booth! To celebrate the release, all my assets are 40% OFF this week:

four months of full-time shader work so a vrchat cat avatar can finally cast a physically correct shadow at 3am

You crushed it with Light Volumes 3.0. i had lots of fun using it in Blue Lagoon! But please give me directional lights >~<!! I have to use a point light volume atm. Or what would be better a custom mesh light that can be drawn similar to FlexiCurve. You can just draw light and it auto creates the voxels

本当に本当に本当に心からありがとう! 使わせて頂きます🙇♂️

shader stripping and light clustering are huge for vrchat. performance gains must be noticeable in crowded worlds

Do I have to update shaders that use VRCLV, or will this work on all existing avatars?

Yes, you have to. All the old features will work, but to have shadows, clustering and some other new features, you have to update if it's possible

Happen to know of any Standard-like shaders that have VRCLV compatibility? I've tried Poi and Mochi but they have a bit too many knobs for me (I exclusively use PBR workflow). Poi seems to support shadows and lights the best, but maybe you know of any alternatives?

can't wait to use that!

Congratulations on the official release!! 🎉✨

shader stripping already in

@That_Bloo mira we

Heck yeah man!! That is incredibly cool!! I cant imagine the work to do this 😭

doing gods work

yooo dats me!

Any pitfalls to avoid when setting up a poiyomi shader for this? Or best practices?

are there any special material settings we need to have turned on to take advantage of VRC Light Volumes? I’m not entirely familiar with the technology

I can almost feel my 5080 sucking 400w out of the wall rn

@dtupper Huge if true

Will this work in the worlds that use it or do i have to mod my client to enjoy it in any place
