Look how fluids behave in closed confines in microgravity. I am currently working on a study on fluid dynamics in space.🧪 This will help us understand wave turbulence on liquid surfaces as well as sloshing in spacecraft tanks, which improves fuel delivery systems in satellites.

Erwin Schrödinger’s 1926 equation changed the game by turning Quantum Mechanics into wave dynamics. That move gave Physics a new way to think. Instead of forcing a particle onto one sharp path, it lets a complex wavefunction evolve in time, with its shape and phase holding the structure of the phenomenon. What makes this so striking is that Schrödinger’s equation does not start from vague mystery. It starts from a precise and daring idea The state of a particle is a complex field ψ(x,t), and the dynamics must push ψ forward in a way that preserves total probability.

In this incredible demonstration from the Maritime Technical and Safety Institute in Japan, a large wave tank uses many synchronized wave-generating devices to create visible symbols and patterns on the surface of the water. Each paddle produces a small wave, but when many waves are emitted at specific timings, amplitudes, and phases, they begin to overlap. Where the wave crests reinforce one another, the water rises. Where a crest meets a trough, the motion cancels out. This is called interference, and it is one of the most fundamental principles of wave physics. By controlling the phase relationship between many individual wave sources, researchers can shape the surface of the water into temporary patterns, symbols, and directional flows. In other words, the visible image is not “drawn” onto the water. It emerges from the mathematics of waves interacting with one another. This is the same underlying principle behind acoustics, cymatics, ocean modeling, signal processing, holography, and even the way complex field patterns arise throughout nature. A single wave carries motion, but many waves, when organized in relationship, create structure. This is why water is such a powerful medium for understanding resonance. It makes invisible dynamics visible and shows us that form can emerge from rhythm, timing, frequency, and relational coherence. At a deeper level, this demonstration reveals something profound about reality itself… Patterns appear when many small movements become synchronized enough to behave as one field. The ocean, sound, light, and even the nervous system all do this, because life is vibrational in nature… Did this expand your perception?

🚨 MJO WATCH: A Major Shift May Be Coming for the Indian Monsoon The latest GFS-based SCORPION analysis shows the main MJO wave has been behaving unusually — almost like a stationary (standing) wave, while also displaying westward propagation. For India’s summer monsoon, this pattern is often associated with a Monsoon Break, suppressing rainfall across large regions. But the key development is what happens next: the trapped MJO signal appears close to breaking free. If this transition continues, it could dramatically reshape monsoon dynamics during the second half of June and into July. 🌧️ A stalled monsoon today doesn't guarantee a weak monsoon tomorrow. All eyes are now on the MJO release phase. #Monsoon #IndiaWeather #MJO #WeatherUpdate #Climate #ElNino

I generally don't like sharing WIPs because I like to project the illusion of mastery, but someone asked so here you go! Wrapping up the underwater code with sun shafts and particles. Needs some additional wave interactions and dynamics, but it's getting there! Occlusion with scene objects is working nicely though—cool to see the light rays interact with the hole in the keel. P.S. I was getting lonely working on this so I added some fish buddies. At 0:08, Steve wanted to say hello 👋

"It's both an important problem for what it is, has significant implications and applications to fluid dynamics, to how you think about ocean currents, all these things." "But for what it represents, of new knowledge created by AI and it unlocking a whole wave of scientific discovery, medicines, all of those things. They're on the table now." A Bonus render of Electron Holography for our Quantum Mechanics Lecture Series. We’re staging a TEM-style electron holography shot as a single 3D scene. A coherent electron wave ψ(x,y,t) enters from the left as a localized packet, gets split by a thin biprism phase wedge, then bends around a central nanoring that stands in for an enclosed magnetic flux. The wave evolves by Schrödinger dynamics, so its intensity ρ=|ψ|² is literally the electron detection probability density, while the probability current j=(1/m)Im(ψ*∇ψ) acts like a conserved flow of that density across the plane. The main surface is a living whose height tracks |ψ| and whose skin color cycles with arg(ψ). On top of it, luminous current ribbons trace streamlines of v=j/(ρ+ε), so you can see how phase gradients steer the flow around the ring and back into interference. High above, a tilted detector/hologram screen shows the off-axis fringe image you’d measure (intensity after mixing with a reference wave), while a porcelain bead marks the centroid ⟨x⟩(t) and flux threads through the ring pulse in sync with the Aharonov-Bohm phase knob φ_AB(t). See our lecture series for details. #QuantumMechanics #ElectronHolography #MathematicalPhysics #Physics

Early science viewed energy through resonance, harmonics, and geometry. Pythagoras showed that vibration follows mathematical ratios, while Bach used those same principles to create harmonic coherence in music. Engineers like Tesla, Heaviside, and Eric Dollard saw electricity as a resonant, wave-based phenomenon governed by frequency, phase, and standing waves. Dan Winter later expanded these ideas through phase-conjugate geometry, where coherence emerges through harmonic alignment. These patterns appear throughout nature in music, electrical systems, plasma, toroidal fields, and biology. The human body itself is electrical: the nervous system, heart, cells, and brain all operate through bioelectric signals and frequency synchronization. The biofield represents the organized electrical dynamics of living systems. Across science, music, and biology, the same principle emerges: coherent resonance organizes energy into structure and life.

D-Wave announced a scientific breakthrough published in the esteemed journal Science Magazine, confirming that its annealing quantum computer outperformed one of the world’s most powerful classical supercomputers in solving a complex magnetic materials simulation problem with relevance to materials discovery. The new landmark peer-reviewed paper, “Beyond-Classical Computation in Quantum Simulation,” validates this achievement as the world’s first and only demonstration of quantum computational supremacy on a useful problem. An international collaboration of scientists led by D-Wave performed simulations of quantum dynamics in programmable spin glasses—a computationally hard magnetic materials simulation problem with known applications to business and science—on both D-Wave’s Advantage2™ prototype annealing quantum computer and the Frontier supercomputer at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Lab. D-Wave’s quantum computer performed a complex simulation in minutes and with a level of accuracy that would take nearly a million years using the supercomputer. In addition, it would require more than the world’s annual electricity consumption to solve this problem using the supercomputer, which is built with graphics processing unit (GPU) clusters. For decades, scientists have aspired to build a quantum computer capable of solving complex materials simulation problems beyond the reach of classical computers. D-Wave's advancements in quantum hardware have made it possible for its annealing quantum computers to process these types of problems for the first time. Magnetic materials simulations, like those conducted in this work, use computer models to study how tiny particles not visible to the human eye react to external factors. Magnetic materials are widely used in medical imaging, electronics, superconductors, electrical networks, sensors, and motors. This is an incredibly important achievement. Please join us in congratulating the D-Wave team and our global collaborators on this remarkable milestone. It’s a significant moment for the quantum computing industry. The inspiring journey of Sheela Devi from Prayagraj shows why enabling people to build their own futures creates a compounding wave of transformation across entire communities. Rather than relying solely on direct financial support, enabling grassroots success through micro-loans, skill-building, and organized community support fundamentally alters an individual's trajectory. Sheela Devi began her entrepreneurial journey with an ₹80,000 loan provided through a Self-Help Group called Ujala under the State Rural Livelihood Mission. By launching a tent house business and successfully repaying the entire loan within a single year, she established financial independence, earned market credibility, and built deep-seated self-worth. While freebies may provide temporary relief, they leave little long-term capability behind; in contrast, capital invested in local enterprise creates a powerful ripple effect that continuously circulates wealth within the community, breaking cycles of economic stagnation. When women are equipped with the tools, credit, and confidence to run their own businesses, social dynamics shift, community decision-making becomes more inclusive, and sustainable prosperity is secured for generations to come.

The McCrone Report: A Ghost in the Digital Machine The digital world is a curious beast. A swirling vortex of information, both ancient and new, easily accessible yet often fleeting. In this ephemeral landscape, some things vanish entirely, swallowed by the sands of time, leaving only whispers of their existence. One such phantom is the McCrone Report, a BBC ALBA documentary about the controversial economic impact of the North Sea oil industry on Scotland, a film that was broadcast and then swiftly removed by BBC England, a digital ghost story ripe for analysis. The story of the McCrone Report is a fascinating microcosm of the power dynamics that shape our media landscape. Its disappearance, shrouded in secrecy, speaks volumes about the sensitivity surrounding the economic implications of Scotland's oil wealth. While the exact reasons for its removal remain unclear, the incident sparked a wave of speculation, further fueling the debate about Scotland's economic future and its relationship with the UK. The McCrone Report's brief, but potent existence, underscores the ever-present tension between information access and control. It serves as a stark reminder that even in the digital age, where information is ostensibly free-flowing, certain narratives are deemed too sensitive, too potentially disruptive, to be freely disseminated. Please enjoy -
