What can you really do with a pencil sharpener? 👀👀👀 Seems almost useless as a survival tool right? Wait til you realize what it can actually do... A decent sharpener is basically a tiny blade designed to turn wood into useful material. You can use it to make fine... wood shavings for tinder, especially from dry softwood. Those little shavings catch a flame much easier than a chunk of wood. You can also use it to create a sharp point on a small stick for simple camp tasks. Make tent stakes. Mark trails. Create a skewer for cooking. Shape small wooden tools. Even a basic stick becomes more useful when you can quickly shape the end. The shavings have another use too. They make excellent starter material when you're trying to get a small fire going. Combine them with dry grass, bark, or other fine tinder and you've got something that can help get the first flame established. There is also something bigger here. Survival gear doesn't always have to be complicated. A small, lightweight tool that performs one simple job extremely well can be worth carrying. That's one of the lessons I like about practical preparedness. Learn how ordinary objects work. Learn how to improvise. Learn how to turn simple materials into something useful. You don't need a backpack full of expensive gear to become more capable. Makes you wonder, what else could we learn to make the most out of if we did a little research?show more

The sharpener is make of magnesium? Shavings could catch fire easily and light the wood. I didn't see magnesium mentioned. Could be a problem in a pocket.. painful mistake.

The subject of 'owning a slave' is dense. It is something we hear a lot when we are in the FemDom Realm. Is it just fantasy? Can it actually be a lifestyle? How do we navigate this type of dynamic? We just launched a generative craft system inside Marble App. Kids can now create anything and turn it into a 3D object on their map. It's designed to be realistic, so kids have to use their brain to make things happen. It works like this: 1) You describe or sketch what you want to build 2) Marble creates a blueprint you can iterate on 3) You pick the resources and tools you think you need to make it (if you have them) 4) Marble crafts the object. If the build is successful and you can drop it on your map! Since you can create your own tools, there is no limit to what you can build with this system. So excited to see what kids make with it!

This is very true. AI integration is both hard and necessary for companies. And AI-native junior employees can drive this adoption. Earlier this year Aaron Levie explained with martin_casado on the a16z podcast how AI fluency is one of the most powerful skills a new grad can have. The real value comes from knowing how to make AI work inside an organization. Most companies, both large and small, are slow to adopt new technology. They need people who can explain what AI can do, show them how to use it, and help them move faster. If you are fluent in AI, you can be that person. You can walk into a company, spot the areas where AI can save time or create new opportunities, and make it happen. That is a wedge into your first job and a way to stand out from everyone else.

A lot of these are projects that, frankly, is like, if you were trying to do this by hand, you would not be able to get done in a few hours. So you kind of have to use AI for this. But in reality, what we actually want to test is, in addition to how familiar you are with these tools, what we actually want to test is, what do you think is the right thing to build? Or how do you make these product decisions? How do you make these trade-offs? How do you decide or collect information about what you should be doing?"
