In the case of the Northern Gateway pipeline, Justin Trudeau cancelled it in 2016 despite that line having First Nation consent & billions in equity shares in the line. Enbridge also spent $1 billion on consultations and environmental impact assessments, only to have the new Liberal government ax the project anyways.
