Whilst the Aboriginal lady speaking doesn't like private schools, they have an important role to play. Average attendance in East Arnhem is 8% The Dhupuma Barker school has risen from 63% in 2021 when it opened to 92% in 2022. Look at what they're doing and replicate it./2

First problem is that many choose to live in remote areas so how can they expect good schooling if the numbers dont justify a good school. Secondly and most importantly even in areas where schools are provided the absentee rate is high. Yet somehow this is the fault of those who do not even live in those communities.

When their parents learn the value of education! Governments alone cannot do it. Getting an education is not like filling a bucket with water.

When they’re living near a viable school? Living remotely is hard. To expect the same educational outcomes no matter your background, requires moving mountains in that environment.
