Why Build Tunnel Roads When Bengaluru Itself is a Giant Pothole?" Wow, what an incredible sight we witnessed recently in Namma Bengaluru a BMTC bus majestically sailing through a waterlogged road like it was part of some luxury cruise line. Who needs Venice when you have Bengaluru’s very own “Water Metro,” right? Maybe this is the true essence of “Brand Bengaluru” turning roads into rivers and buses into boats. Hats off to the government for such visionary urban planning! Should we now start calling our daily commute a water adventure? Or maybe DK Shivakumar will announce a new “Swim to Work” scheme soon? If this is the level of planning we can expect, then citizens should probably start investing in kayaks instead of cars. And now we hear talks about a tunnel road how exciting! Because clearly, if we can’t maintain the roads above the ground, the next logical step is to dig under and create a swimming pool experience below as well. Will the tunnel road come with free scuba gear? Or will it be part of the next wave of government freebies right after the mixer grinders and pressure cookers? It’s amazing how our tax money flows just like rainwater on our streets nowhere useful. Drainage? Maintenance? Planning? Accountability? Oh no, those are outdated concepts. What we get instead are ribbon-cuttings, press conferences, and lovely photoshoots of leaders pretending everything is under control, while citizens literally wade through the mess. Dear DK Shivakumar and team, we salute your unmatched ability to turn every rain into a PR disaster. If incompetence were an Olympic sport, Bengaluru’s civic management would be bringing home gold medals year after year. So let’s all raise a toast or maybe a life jacket to the glorious future of Bengaluru. Where infrastructure collapses, but the PR machinery stands strong. Where roads disappear, but promises flood our ears. Bravo, government. Truly, well done. Karnataka State Police ChristinMathewPhilip

Our voices deserve to be heard - Not silenced. We, *ALL KARNATAKA STATE STUDENTS ASSOCIATION*, AKSSA OFFICIAL began a peaceful march from Dharwad to Bengaluru to protest the repeated translation errors in the KPSC exams — errors that are costing deserving candidates their future. Our protest was not just for ourselves, but for justice, transparency, corruption and accountability in our examination system. But today, as we entered Bengaluru, the *police arrested our peaceful protesters*, attempting to suppress our voices and curb our constitutional right to protest. This is not just an attack on students — it’s an attack on democracy itself. What message are they trying to send? That students don’t have the right to demand fairness? That we must stay silent in the face of injustice? Honourable Home minister Dr. G Parameshwara of Karnataka and Police Commissioner Dayanand sir should immediately take action against the police inspector N.M. Poonacha for allegedly manhandling innocent students and have Filed a FIR against 9 students who were walking peacefully. And provide justice to students and remove FIR filed on students. We will not be silenced. We will continue to raise our voice until justice is served. Girl Student’s Clip Exposes Bengaluru’s Broken Roads, Missed Classes and Injuries Today morning, Bengaluru witnessed yet shocking incident: a school bus toppled over on the Panathur–Balagere stretch. The reason? Our “world-class” roads riddled with potholes, craters, and poor maintenance. Fortunately, the students managed to escape through the back door, but the incident could have been far worse. Soon after, a video surfaced from another group of students travelling in their own school bus. In it, they spoke about the deplorable condition of Bengaluru’s roads and the ordeal they go through every single day. According to them, they spend more time bouncing around in buses than sitting in classrooms, thanks to endless traffic jams and delayed schedules. Their extracurricular activities are postponed, their study time is cut short, and their safety is constantly at risk. The irony? While making the video, their phone actually slipped from their hands not because of negligence, but because the bus lurched violently over yet another pothole. Students even claim to have sustained injuries due to the constant bumps and jolts. And yet, despite repeated promises from Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and the @GBAoffic about fixing Bengaluru’s infrastructure, school buses still feel like off-road rally vehicles. For a city proudly calling itself the “Silicon Valley of India,” our roads seem better suited for adventure sports than for carrying children. Maybe it’s time, DK Shivakumar,Siddaramaiah experience a few of these bumpy rides themselves perhaps then the potholes will finally disappear. Karnataka State Police S. Dearest Vivian, We miss you so much. A year has passed since that terrible day when we lost you and so many other wonderful people. On that day, the foundations of everything we relied on were shaken – trust was shaken, security was shaken. We are in a terrible crisis. Like all of Israel, we initially found ourselves confused and at a loss, asking ourselves: Where did we go wrong? As time passed and the war continued, the realization sank in that we weren't the ones who erred. Those who didn't listen to our cries were wrong! And it's clear to us now, more than ever, that we have no choice but to continue. We were strengthened tremendously by your family, who continues in your path despite the terrible tragedy – and in many ways, because of it. They, like us, cannot know what you would be thinking had you survived the horrific massacre, but knowing you, we believe you would not have despaired or given up. You would have continued to work tirelessly for a diplomatic agreement and a better future for Israel and the region's residents, so that we can raise our children and future generations here in peace, security, equality, and freedom. And that's what we did – we thought things over, rolled up our sleeves, and we're continuing tirelessly, on our path – your path, for us and also for you. A year has passed; we're still in the midst of a cursed war with no end in sight, and sometimes we feel like we're fighting windmills, but we're not giving up. You would surely be thrilled, along with us, if you could see the international recognition we've received in recent weeks, together with our Palestinian sisters from Women of the Sun. Believe it or not, we have even been nominated together for the Nobel Peace Prize. Dearest Vivian, we hope that in another year we’ll be able to update you that we've succeeded, that they're finally listening to us, and not just overseas, and that what we believe in is happening – women are bringing peace. We promise to dedicate the Nobel Prize we receive to you. May your memory be peace, dear friend. We miss you so much. #VivianSilver Yonatan Zeigen

Subject: Urgent Request to Conduct BBMP Election | Day 76/100 Demand Respected Siddaramaiah,DK Shivakumar, Today marks the 76th day of our call for the immediate conduct of BBMP elections. In the attached video, desperate commuters are seen navigating through a waterlogged, narrow road in East Bengaluru—a suburb where over 60% of India’s IT companies are located. This road, originally a village cart lane, has become a primary route without adequate drainage or infrastructure. A single rain is enough to flood it, yet it continues to be used as a main thoroughfare. This isn’t the fault of IT workers, as some might claim; rather, it’s a failure in urban planning. The government has permitted housing projects in this area without ensuring the necessary public amenities. As more land is concretized, the opportunity to widen roads or improve infrastructure diminishes. While some argue that public transport is the solution, they overlook the fact that buses still need at least two lanes to operate effectively. The current state of affairs is unacceptable and is damaging our city’s long-term growth. The need for a democratic setup in Bengaluru is more urgent than ever. We must have proper governance and planning to prevent further deterioration. We urge you to prioritize the BBMP elections to ensure that our city can thrive. Yours sincerely, Concerned Citizens of Bengaluru #ConductBBMPElection #BrandBengaluru #ITSlum #bengalururains Office of the OSD to CM Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS
