#DRC - #USA : The world is slowly beginning to understand that diplomatic propaganda driven by lobbying does not reflect the reality on the ground. Congo does not only need peace, it needs sustainable peace that addresses the root causes of conflict. Any process that ignores governance failures, exclusion, and lack of accountability will only prepare the stage for renewed instability. The United States must prioritize what is best for the Congolese people, not simply echo the position of officials in Kinshasa. Listening equally to civil society, opposition leaders, and faith-based institutions is essential. An imposed peace including any Washington-driven framework that lacks national ownership risks being temporary and fragile. Leadership from CENCO and ECC offers a credible pathway toward a truly inclusive national dialogue. Sustainable peace cannot be imposed. It must be built from within. Well done to the Committee on Foreign Affairs for advancing an approach grounded in facts and accountability.
