One mistake while buying a property can cost you dearly. Before making your investment, verify the property's details using the right public resources. Check the HMDA Lakes Portal to see if the property falls within a lake boundary or FTL area. Use the Bhuvan Portal to verify whether the land is government-owned. A few minutes of verification today can help you avoid costly legal and financial issues in the future. HYDRAA A.V. Ranganath, IPS

— HYDRAA Commissioner inspects flood-hit areas in Gachibowli — HYDRAA resolves 78 complaints in one night HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath inspected Malkam Cheruvu on Friday morning to review the reasons behind the recent flooding in the surrounding areas. He visited the site to assess why the flooding occurred and why traffic was severely disrupted. Officials explained that while a large volume of floodwater was entering the lake, the outflow capacity was insufficient, causing water to accumulate. At present, water is flowing out only through a small overflow channel. The Commissioner noted that installing sluice gates would help control water levels during the monsoon. He instructed the concerned authorities to take up these works as soon as the rains ease. Pointing out that not just roads but also residential areas were inundated, he directed that the works be completed without delay. The Commissioner inspected both the inlets bringing water into the lake and the outlets carrying it out, and suggested measures to prevent waterlogging around Malkam Cheruvu. He also observed that heavy floodwater from the Biodiversity Park area and from Shaikpet was stagnating at the start of the bridge. He said arrangements should be made for all this water to be diverted into Malkam Cheruvu. Additional Director Varla Papayya, Cyberabad Commissioner Avinash Mahanty, and Joint Commissioner of Traffic Gajarao Bhupal were among the officials who accompanied him during the field inspection. #Hyderabad : 🌊 From Dumpyard, Encroachments to Beautiful Lake; #Kukatpally #NallaCheruvu Reborn! 🌳✨ Locals Enjoy the Scenic Atmosphere🌊 #HYDRAA made it Possible! ✳️ Encroachments removed ✳️16 sheds demolished within FTL ✳️Lake area doubled from 16 acres to 28 acres ✳️Pathway & boating facilities developed ✳️7 inlets + new outlets to prevent flooding ✳️Groundwater recharged, Biodiversity revived Kukatpally Nallacheruvu Transformed HYDRAA Commissioner inspects development works – Local residents enjoy the Scenic atmosphere Kukatpally Nallacheruvu, once choked with debris and sewage, has been revived and is now brimming with fresh rainwater. What was once a polluted dumping ground has today been transformed into a scenic waterbody. In just four months, HYDRA cleared encroachments, removed years of silt and construction waste, and restored the lake. With the recent rains, the lake has filled up, much to the delight of local residents. It has now become a spot for boating and recreation, showcasing the efforts and perseverance of HYDRA despite challenges and criticism. On Thursday, HYDRAA A.V. Ranganath visited the Nallacheruvu lake to review the development works. Lake Area Doubled The lake had shrunk to just 16 acres due to encroachments. After reviewing revenue and village records, HYDRA cleared 16 business sheds built within the FTL boundary, removed dumped debris, and desilted up to 4 meters deep. The foul smell is gone, and the lake’s area has now nearly doubled to 28 acres within four months. With just a couple of rains, the lake has filled up. Officials said this revival was possible with the cooperation of all departments, local MLAs, and corporators. Protecting Nearby Habitations from Floods Earlier, rainwater would flood nearby residential colonies since there was no channel for water to enter the lake. Now, 7 inlets have been created to bring water into the lake, and the old outlet has been developed along with a new one to safely drain excess water. Measures were taken to prevent sewage from mixing with lake water. Islands have been created to support biodiversity. Boating has resumed, groundwater levels have improved, and borewells have been recharged. A 1.5 km pathway around the lake has been laid, with nearly 600 people visiting daily for walking and recreation. On weekends, it has become a picnic spot. Facilities such as health amenities and community halls for small gatherings are also being developed, making the lake a multi-purpose space. Towards a Green & Safe City HYDRA Commissioner Mr. A.V. Ranganath said that reviving Nallacheruvu faced many challenges. At one stage, when demolition of encroachments began, including 16 sheds within the FTL on September 22, there was resistance and hardships. Despite obstacles, HYDRAA continued its work and results are now visible. As part of the first phase, six lakes were taken up for development. Of these, Bathukamma Kunta (Amberpet) and Nallacheruvu (Kukatpally) are nearly ready, while four others—Bamruknudoula Lake, Uppal Nallacheruvu, Thammadikunta, and Sunnam Lake—will be completed soon. In the next phase, 13 more lakes will be developed. He added that lakes play a vital role—preventing floods in monsoon and addressing water scarcity in summer. This initiative is in line with the vision of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, who a century ago built two major reservoirs—Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar—for flood control and water security. Following that path, Hyderabad aims to become a model flood-free city in India.

Two enforcement officers have reportedly been removed after footage appeared to show them threatening and intimidating a member of the public in Harrow. But the real question is bigger than two men. How did people like this ever get enforcement authority over the public? Uniforms. Badges. Bodycams. Fines. Warnings. Power over ordinary people. And when it goes wrong, everyone suddenly distances themselves. That is not good enough. If councils and contractors give people the appearance of public authority, then they must be accountable for how that authority is used. Were these just two rogue officers? Or is this a glimpse into a much deeper problem with councils, contractors and modern enforcement in Britain? Watch the video and tell me what you think. Public authority must never become public intimidation. #Harrow #CivilEnforcement #CouncilAccountability #UKPolitics #TwoTierPolicing

EXPOSED: Retired Minneapolis cop tells all: Somali fraud, stolen cars, and ‘the last straw’ A Minneapolis police officer who worked on the streets for decades spoke with Liz Collin on her podcast. Due to anti-law enforcement hostility and retaliation, he asked to remain anonymous. But he spoke candidly about a wide range of topics, including the shocking problems with retirements and recruits, Somali fraud, cars that have been stolen more than a few times, and more. However, he says, it was the politics of city hall—preventing cooperation with federal law enforcement and compromising public safety during Operation Metro Surge—that was the final straw for him.

Must read : High Impact story HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath inaugurated the groundbreaking for rejuvenation works at Kamuni Cheruvu ; bund strengthening, approach roads, infrastructure, and nala linkages under the ₹21 crore project. This is a big moment. But it didn’t arrive by itself. It came after six years of a relentless fight I and TOI waged through reporting, evidence, and constant public pressure. I began this campaign not from a newsroom but amid the 2020 floods one of Hyderabad’s worst in decades. On 14 October 2020, I posted aerial images of homes in the illegal layout submerged because they had been built right inside and abutting Kamuni Cheruvu. I tagged then-minister KTR and the GHMC Commissioner and asked: when you build in lakes, water reclaims its space. Is this what LRS was meant for? That thread started the long battle. For two years I kept monitoring. In November 2022, I broke the story that changed everything. My front-page TOI investigation — “Plotted and Sold: Land Sharks Bite Into Kamuni in Hyderabad” exposed the organised mafia operation: night-time earth filling, construction of rooms on the newly “reclaimed” land, and open sale of plots with “lakefront” banners. Using Google satellite imagery overlaid on old survey maps, I showed that not just the FTL but a full quarter of the lake had been encroached, along with its inflow and outflow nalas. The 14 November 2022 X thread with those satellite overlays went viral . It forced action. GHMC had registered FIR Crime No. 854/2022. Ten accused were named. Demolitions happened in Raghavendra Colony. Fencing began. But even then I refused to celebrate partial wins. On 22 November 2022 I posted directly to officials: “Thanks for removing encroachments. Now fencing work started. Land created in lake by filling up has to be cleared. We can see some religious structures yet. Will u be clearing the land and also restoring the lake to original?” The fight continued across governments. In March 2024 I flagged a five-storey building rising almost inside the lake boundary and challenged the GHMC Commissioner on permissions. In August 2024 I posted the damning 2014 vs 2024 satellite comparison showing an entire colony had grown inside the lake bed. I tagged HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath and demanded action in what had become Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao’s constituency. By late 2024 the water hyacinth crisis had turned the lake into a mosquito breeding ground. In February 2026 I wrote directly to the Cyberabad Municipal Commissioner framing it as a public health emergency. When a drone enzyme pilot failed in March, I called it out publicly and demanded mechanical removal — tagging Commissioner Srijana IAS and the CM’s office. On 18 April 2026 I documented the actual mechanical weed-cutting operation on the ground. Through all of this —two state governments, multiple commissioners, and shifting priorities I kept producing fresh evidence, filing public demands, and strategically tagging the people who could act. I refused to accept “some action” as success. Full restoration of the lake, not just demolitions or fencing, was always the non-negotiable demand. That six-year chain of reporting on X and in The Times of India is what kept Kamuni Cheruvu from being forgotten or quietly finished off. Today’s groundbreaking by Commissioner Ranganath moving from the April ₹21 crore sanction to actual construction of bund, roads and infrastructure is the result of that sustained fight. The lake that was being openly plotted and sold in 2022 now has government funding and works on the ground. Challenges remain: completing the 17-metre nala, full excavation of filled portions, long-term maintenance, and protection from fresh encroachments. But the direction has changed because the pressure never stopped. This is what consistent, evidence-driven civic journalism can achieve when it refuses to give up. #KamuniCheruvu #HyderabadLakes #SaveOurLakes

Context: On July 2, 2026 Vicente Jimenez requested a “Notice of Claim” form that city staff had already told him (the previous day and across multiple prior visits and dozens of calls) does not exist under Texas law for the purpose he sought. The circulating video begins after an extended conversation with Strategic Communications Director Stewart Doreen and does not show the start of the encounter. Jimenez remained seated in the public lobby, continued insisting on the non-existent form while recording, and (according to the preceding footage from the prior day) had already been directed to watch his language after insulting the city. Staff eventually called police when they viewed his persistent presence and behavior as disruptive to operations and other people waiting. Being deliberately persistent and provocative in seeking a document he had already been told was unavailable does not automatically justify the level of force used, but the fuller context shows the interaction was not a sudden, one-time calm request met with unprovoked aggression. (Here is the 3 minutes of video before the video of this post, that puts it into context, that he was purposely trying to get a response hoping to catch it on video).

"Law enforcement exchanged gunfire with the individual...A U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division Officer was struck in his vest...He seems to be in good spirits at this time." Prince Harry and Meghan Markle DO NOT NEED taxpayer-funded security in the UK. And let’s clear up another ridiculous claim: Harry has NOT been “denied security,” despite what some people are screaming around like headless chickens. Under the bespoke arrangements put in place after Harry stepped back, requests for protective police security are made on a case-by-case basis, with 28-30 days’ notice, so the authorities can assess the circumstances and threat before deciding what protection, if any, is appropriate. He also has his own privately funded security. What he does NOT have is an automatic entitlement to a taxpayer-funded police protection detail simply because he is Prince Harry. There is a difference between being denied security and being denied the level of taxpayer-funded protection you demand. And for everyone repeating, “But Harry said he’ll pay for it” - that is not how police protection works. Police protection is NOT a private service that a wealthy individual can simply purchase because they are willing to write a cheque. Police resources are limited and are allocated according to threat, risk and public interest. Harry also seems to think being a prince entitles him to the sort of highly visible police protection associated with the King and the heir. It doesn’t. Even other members of the Royal Family do not automatically receive that level of protection simply because they are royal. Harry and Meghan already have private security. What they appear to want is the added status, visibility and resources that come with a police escort. And frankly, if this is supposedly all about an overwhelming security threat, why are their movements constantly being briefed to the media? Why does everyone need to know where they are going and when they are going there? You cannot spend your time telling the world about your movements and then demand that the taxpayer provide an extraordinary level of protection because you are supposedly at extraordinary risk. You don’t get to have the perks of the Crown without the duty to the Crown.

OUR YEARNING FOR A SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT ONLY ACHIEVEABLE THROUGH COLLECTIVE EFFORTS-LASG ...As Env. Comm leads State officials on inspection of Savage/Elegbata Drainage Channel Lagos State Government on Sunday restated the need for all Local Governments/ Local Council Development Areas to collaborate with the State to confront environmental challenges through continuous enforcement and sustained advocacy. The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab laid the emphasis while addressing the media after an inspection tour to Savage/Elegbata Drainage channel around Olowogbowo/ Apongbon axis in Lagos Island, adding that the state is determined to proffer lasting solution to the problem of flooding in Lagos Island and Environs which poses serious threat to lives and properties in the area. Wahab said the team had to visit the Savage/Elegbata Drainage channel for a solution to open the drainage outfall towards discharging into the Lagoon effectively adding that the out fall was blocked as a result of an ongoing road construction in the the area. He said it was disheartening to see how human bad behaviours have destroyed the roads and other infrastructure put in place by the government saying LGs/ LCDAs are very culpable for the destruction of these infrastructure because they have allowed and looked away from various unsanitary activities of the residents on the state of the roads. Wahab stressed that during the inspection, it was observed that the people in the community were entrenched in bad behaviours, saying that Government will not rest but would continue to ramp up the enforcement and advocacy approach. The commissioner urged everyone engaged in various activities such as operating illegal mechanic workshops, street trading, illegal abbatoir, unapproved parking lot amongst others under Apongbon bridge and environs to vacate immediately as enforcement agents have been given the go- ahead to begin enforcement. He said government enforcement officials would be stationed in the axis after the enforcement to monitor the level of compliance and make arrest as well as prosecute when the need arises. He implored community members to always take ownership of all infrastructure and the environment by preventing indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the drainage channels/roads, trading on the roads amongst others stressing that it is the responsibility of all residents to maintain the environment to ensure its sustainability. The team visited the Savage/Elegbata Drainage Channel which cut across Cole Street, Savage Lane, George Street, Abu Lane, Apongbon underbridge and Olowogbowo area.

IG of Police Is a Blackmailer Who Plays to the Gallery – Osun Information Commissioner, Kolapo Alimi The Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, has strongly criticised the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, accusing him of "playing to the gallery" during his recent visit to Osun State and alleging that his comments were politically motivated. Speaking during a podcast aired on Sunday in both Yoruba and English, Alimi described the Inspector-General as a "blackmailer" whose conduct was allegedly intended to serve the interests of the opposition APC rather than uphold professional policing. According to the Commissioner, the Inspector-General's public comments suggesting that Governor Ademola Adeleke was harbouring suspected criminals in the Government House were inappropriate and inconsistent with the conduct expected of the nation's highest-ranking police officer. Alimi said: "A truly unbiased and professional police officer would have discussed the issue with the Governor behind the scenes instead of making such uncomplimentary and unsubstantiated remarks in the presence of journalists. That was done in bad faith. That is a subtle blackmail to destroy the reputation of the Governor. That is playing to the gallery to seek public validation. That was unbecoming of a professional and diligent Inspector-General of Police. A diligent police officer should have got the touted criminals arrested before even coming to Osun if truly the Governor is harbouring criminals." The Commissioner maintained that the Inspector-General's remarks were biased and politically motivated, alleging that they were aimed at advancing the interests of the APC rather than ensuring impartial law enforcement. It will be recalled that during his meeting with Governor Ademola Adeleke last Thursday, the Inspector-General of Police stated that he had been briefed by the Commissioner of Police in Osun State that some wanted suspects, including Emir Ajagungbade, Nurudeen Alowonle, Solomon Adefioye (popularly known as Solo Iwara), Jide Jọda and other persons on the police wanted list, were allegedly taking refuge within the Osun State Government House, thereby preventing their arrest by the police. Governor Adeleke, however, rejected the allegation, insisting that no wanted criminal was being shielded within the Government House.

THIS IMPUNITY MUST BE STOPPED !! Today, I was in the Central Business District (CBD) to assess the status of our drainage systems following numerous complaints from city residents, particularly after the heavy rains experienced yesterday. I wish to assure Nairobi residents that our engineers are actively on the ground working to unblock clogged drainage systems. Investigations have established that the persistent flooding in the CBD is largely caused by irresponsible dumping of garbage into drainage channels by some shop owners and hawkers. This behavior is unacceptable. The county government will address this problem through strict enforcement actions. Compliance officers have been deployed to monitor the area and ensure adherence to environmental and public health regulations. Let this serve as a warning: anyone found dumping waste into drainage systems will face immediate legal action without exception. We must all take responsibility to keep our city clean, safe, and functional.

He appealed to everyone to travel safely while proceeding for the immersions and extend full cooperation to the Police and other departments. He emphasised that Ganesh immersion is one of the largest events involving the entire government machinery, and that the collective effort is aimed at ensuring that the celebrations and immersions are conducted peacefully, safely and smoothly. The DGP urged the public to follow the advisories issued by the Traffic Police and plan their travel accordingly. In case of any emergency, the public may dial 112.

🚨 Tucker Carlson reveals the Offer the Trump Administration made to Minnesota Officials that hasn’t been made public yet — MN Officials said no 1. Local Police have to answer 911 calls from federal agents —— as of now, if an agent is in danger and requests assistance, they don’t get it. 2. Local Police has to work to protect Federal law enforcement from being killed when they’re off duty 3. The jails have to tell the federal government where the pedophiles and rapist are, and hand them over 4. If officials do that, the vast majority of Federal law enforcement will be pulled from Minnesota, but remain to protect Federal assets The response from Minnesota officials was “NO, we’re not doing that.” This is proof that what you’re witnessing in Minnesota is the beginning of a Color Revolution. Sean Tabor is often one of the first to speak for Doug Cifu, but claims he does not have a relationship with him. Yet, somehow he is still privy to non public information for example when he said that I had been sent a cease and desist by Cifu before anyone knew. I merely bring up that the debate between Censorship vs Free Speech is complex, and he wishes for me to die?
