“Will AI replace programmers?” Perfect take by Lex.

Here’s his list: - ride the wave of code generating LLMs - become a big picture architect - constantly switch to the best AI tools & models - design with natural language 1st - don’t compete with the AI, use it to work better I couldn’t possibly agree more.

Lex has the courage to say the truth that so many AI doomers can't admit: they're not really afraid of AI paperclipping everyone, they're afraid that AI will take away the only thing that makes them feel special and better than everyone else. They're afraid of not being the "smart guy" because that's all many of these people have ever really had. Equality is a nightmare worse than being turned into a pile of paperclips. The real solution is to stop measuring yourself against the social scale and start measuring yourself against yourself. Instead of being mad that people caught up with where you are, use the skill you developed at overcoming difficulty to explore what you're truly capable of when unbound by the minutia of day to day grunt work in the intellectual space. I'm going through a similar challenge right now, and it's not easy, but if it was it wouldn't be worth doing. Also, we should all celebrate super intelligent AI. The easiest environment to learn in is one where you are surrounded by people who are smarter than you and who are willing to answer questions.

OpenAI has difficulty with recursive logic which seems fairly simple even to a hack like me. AGI is still years away according to @AndrewYNg

@AndrewYNg Models are good today at things they were bad at a year ago. I think the progress will surprise us all, myself included.

Why is he on a constant journey to a funeral?

Nah the suit is a vibe!

Use it first. Then engage your brain. If so both will get better.

Nope but will transform what’s like to be a programmer

We are guides for the AI now

Most programmers will just have to downgrade from tesla to toyota and making coffee at home
