WOW! ChatGPT Canvas can now build React apps! Here is my first little Canvas app that lets me upload images and then it uses OpenAI vision API to explain them. Anyone can build apps in a matter of seconds. It can even call APIs! So cool!

Okay... here is the app after polishing a bit within Canvas. The idea is that I can give it any image and it generates slides from it. The vision API generates an explanation and gpt-4o-mini summarizes those into content + title. Need more work but the idea is there.

This is way more than what you can do with Claude Artifact today. The API call stuff is tricky but there are workarounds. Not a full Cursor or Windsurf experience but it's promising for small apps. I just wanted to use it to create a simple AI web app. Those are more fun.

This is really cool! Do you think people will switch to this from Cursor or Windsurf? I feel like those tools, powered by Claude, have dominated both the narrative and performance in software development.

Very cool feature. When will they release a full code editor?

I heard rumors this week that something like that for software engineering is coming! Not sure about the details but it would make sense.

amazing!

amazing!!

Good stuff! I love the example. I'm so happy to get this update. It's much more interesting and practical than Operator.

I had no idea you could call OpenAI's API within ChatGPT. Testing API calls just got so much better. Thanks Elvis.
