BEWARE OF MUMBAI TRAFFIC POLICE NEGLIGENCE! Thanks to my dashcam, otherwise this totally incompetent Mumbai Traffic Police lady constable (who was very rude btw) would have extorted money from me for no fault of mine! As you can see in the video, I cross the stop line VERY comfortably when the light is green. When I am half way across the wide highway on which this light is situated is when the light turns orange. And then red at the point where there is a bottleneck created by these very traffic police operating under the flyover. The lady traffic constable in concern isn't even looking at my car or the light the whole time. She was busy looking somewhere else and just turns and looks at my car when I have already crossed the entire road, and she gestures me to stop, pointing at the light, indicating that I jumped it! After this, what is not recorded, because I stopped the recording to show it to her is even more shocking. She came up to me and said I jumped the light. I said no it turned red well after I crossed it, to which she rudely said "kaahi hi bolu naka" which means "dont talk rubbish"! Wow! After that I showed her the video, but SHE STILL INSISTED THAT I WAS WRONG AND I SHOULD PAY THE FINE. SERIOUSLY! NO KIDDING! This is her judgement making ability and she is in law and order? Her last plea to me was that why dont I pay, the fine is just Rs. 500! “Aaya hai to kuch deke hi jaana” attitude?? What sort of personnel do you have on board, Mumbai Traffic Police Commissioner of Police, Greater Mumbai महाराष्ट्र पोलीस - Maharashtra Police Dr Ravinder Singal IPS pravin padwal ? Even with the recording, this is my plight. Without it I was a total goner! MTP needs a major revamp. Actual offenders are running scotfree and this is the treatment of law abiding tax payer motorists At Kanjur Marg flyover on EEH, Mumbai. TOI Mumbai Mid Day Mumbai Mirror NDTV AajTak

A Change of Plan…🌍 A little insight into the realities of airline flying: sometimes the route you see on your flight tracker isn’t the one we originally planned. That’s because flight planning is a mix of science, safety, and flexibility. 🌐 One reason for changes is ATC flow management. Think of it like traffic lights in the sky, with thousands of aircraft moving through shared corridors, air traffic control sometimes adjusts our routes to keep the system flowing smoothly and safely. But today’s change wasn’t about traffic. It was about performance planning. Departing Delhi, our A350 was heavy with fuel and passengers, and the original routing led straight into an area of very high terrain. With a twin-engine aircraft, we always consider the “what if”: if one engine were to fail, how would the aircraft perform? Safety means ensuring we can still fly clear of terrain even under those conditions. That’s where ETOPS (Extended-range Twin-engine Operations) and drift down procedures come in. ETOPS rules let two-engine aircraft fly long oceanic and remote routes, but only with strict planning to guarantee diversion options. Drift down is the scenario where, after losing one engine, we calculate how the aircraft can descend to a level where it can safely continue flight and clear terrain. These are baked into every flight plan, and sometimes, the numbers don’t add up and they mean taking the longer way around. So today, instead of climbing northwest out of India, we turned south. The routing took us over Oman and the UAE, up the length of the Gulf, across Iraq, and back into our original track over western Turkey. That’s also where we passed one of my favourite places: the airfield named Batman 🦇. 👨‍✈️ It’s a great reminder that flying isn’t just point-to-point. Every route is carefully designed with safety, performance, and the flow of global air traffic in mind. It also means that we had a great opportunity to get some air-to-air pics of other aircraft. Will share these during the week 🙌🏻 #AvGeek #PilotLife #AirbusA350 #FlightDeckLife #ETOPS #FlightOps #AirlinePilot #AviationSafety #ProfessionalPilot #FromTheFlightDeck #FlyingTheWorld #SingleEngineDriftDown #AviationDaily #AvgeekCommunity #SkyHighViews

🚨Congestion Pricing and NYC’s Self-Inflicted Wound: Are Bus and Bike Lanes Making Things Worse? As a lifelong New Yorker and daily driver, I’m seeing our city’s streets become more congested, less safe, and now, more costly—all thanks to street design choices that haven’t delivered on their promises. With congestion pricing on the way, drivers will soon have to pay extra for navigating roads that are bottlenecked by bike lanes, bus lanes, and pedestrian plazas. These were meant to relieve traffic and improve safety but have done the opposite. Areas like 6th Avenue, Lower Manhattan, and the West Village have seen car lanes disappear, replaced by underused bike lanes and additional bus lanes, making traffic worse. Parking is now dangerously close to bike lanes, where drivers risk being struck as they exit their vehicles. Meanwhile, bike lanes—used mainly in the warmer months—eat up space all year, adding to traffic problems without a year-round payoff. And for pedestrians, the situation isn’t much better. Crosswalks have become hazardous, with cyclists often ignoring stoplights and pedestrians’ right-of-way. What was meant to be a safer design has instead put walkers in harm’s way. Then there are the pedestrian plazas, such as those in Times Square and along Broadway. Intended as public spaces, they’ve funneled more traffic into surrounding streets and often become gathering points for crime, drug use, and loitering. What was supposed to create safe communal spaces has instead added congestion and security concerns to nearby areas. All this comes at a time when New Yorkers are already stretched thin. Between high taxes, soaring costs, and low wages, most can barely afford to live here. Adding a new congestion fee feels like punishment for a problem we didn’t create. So, what do you think? Should we keep paying for these planning missteps, or is it time to rethink the balance of our streets and find a solution that doesn’t leave New Yorkers footing the bill? I’ve seen a lot of people accuse Saudi Arabia of fabricating the moon sighting. Below is proof that it wasn’t. The first video is the exact moment the moon was sighted. The second video is the official testifying before a judge about the set up and what he saw exactly. He says "At 6:11pm (precisely) we saw an opening in the sky, and we all saw the moon and around the opening was all clouds" There is also a picture but it is against the Sunnah to share proof when a testimony is given by a Muslim so I refuse to share it in case we set a precedent to always share a picture and that would be a big error. A testimony of a Muslim is enough as we see from the Hadith of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbaas رضي الله عنه said: A Bedouin came to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and said, I have seen the new moon tonight. He said, "Do you bear witness that there is no god except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah?" He said, Yes. He said, "Get up, O Bilaal, and announce to the people that they should fast tomorrow." [at Tirmidhi: 691 Abu Dawood: [2340], an Nasaa'i: [2112] Ibn Maajah: [1652]. Shaykh al Albaani رحمه الله said: So we see from the Hadith that he, صلى الله عليه وسلم، instructed Bilaal to announce to the people that they would fast the next day. So the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم was content with the testimony of this man, whom he did not know, on the basis that he bore witness that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, i.e. he knew that he was a Muslim, but he did not check on him any further and he did not try to find out how intelligent and smart he was, as was the case in the first Hadith in which the witness was 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar ibn al Khattab رضي الله عنه. Yet despite that he accepted his testimony. This Hadith makes things easier for people, and what this means is that the judge should be content with the witness as he appears to be, without needing to find people who know this man and can testify that he is of good character, as was the habit of judges since time immemorial. Rather it is sufficient to know that he is a Muslim. This man was a Bedouin of whom the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم had no prior knowledge and he was content that he uttered the Shahaadatayn before him. So he was a Muslim with the same rights and duties as any other, and based on his testimony and the fact that he was a Muslim he said: O Bilaal, announced to the people that they should fast tomorrow. [At Ta laaq 'ala Kitaab Bulugh al Maraam, (audio tape), Hadith 5, Kitaab al Siyaam] This Hadith is evidence for the principle that a Muslim is to be regarded as being of good character unless proven otherwise. Al San'aani رحمه الله said concerning what we learn from the hadeeth of Ibn 'Abbaas رضي الله عنه: It indicates that the basic principle with regard to the Muslims is that they are of good character, because the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم did not ask the Bedouin for anything except the Shahaadah. [Subul as Salaam by as San'aani: 2/153] And Allah knows best.

🚨 A FORMER NASA ENGINEER CLAIMS HE’S DISCOVERED A “NEW FORCE” THAT CAN OVERCOME EARTH’S GRAVITY WITHOUT ANY PROPELLANT. Charles Buhler, who spent years leading NASA’s Electrostatics and Surface Physics Laboratory at Kennedy Space Center, says his private company Exodus Propulsion Technologies has found a way to generate thrust using only electric fields. In vacuum chamber tests, their device reportedly produced enough force to counteract Earth’s gravity a claim that would completely rewrite the rules of propulsion. Why this matters: For over a century, every rocket we’ve ever launched has had to carry massive amounts of fuel. If this “New Force” is real, spacecraft could one day maneuver indefinitely without expelling mass potentially making deep space travel, satellite station-keeping, and even atmospheric flight dramatically cheaper and more efficient. The deeper implication is staggering: We may be looking at the first real breakthrough in propellantless propulsion since the invention of the rocket. If verified, this wouldn’t just change space travel it could reshape how we think about energy, momentum, and the fundamental laws of physics. Of course, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. As of now, the work is still awaiting independent replication by outside laboratories. But if this holds up… What changes first space travel, energy production, or something we haven’t even imagined yet? Follow for more frontier physics and emerging technologies.

🚨 SCIENTISTS JUST DISCOVERED THAT BACTERIA HAVE BEEN USING A QUANTUM ENERGY TRICK FOR BILLIONS OF YEARS. In a breakthrough published in Nature Chemistry, researchers from the University of Sheffield (working with IBM and international collaborators) have shown that purple photosynthetic bacteria (Rhodobacter sphaeroides) use singlet fission (SF) as a functional mechanism to enhance light harvesting. When carotenoids absorb blue-green light (via their S₂ state), the energy rapidly undergoes heterofission: the singlet exciton splits into a pair of triplet excitons shared between a carotenoid and its neighboring bacteriochlorophyll (BChl) a molecule. These triplet pairs are long-lived and weakly coupled. They then recombine via triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA), efficiently populating the BChl a Qy singlet state which then transfers energy to the reaction center. This SF-mediated pathway contributes up to ~18% of total carotenoid-to-BChl energy transfer in some complexes and introduces a temporal “buffering” effect, staggering energy arrival at the reaction center. Why this matters: • It is the clearest demonstration yet that singlet fission plays a genuine, functional role in natural photosynthesis • The heterofission mechanism (triplets on adjacent Crt and BChl molecules) explains how bacteria achieve ultrafast SF while maintaining long-lived, harvestable triplet pairs • This pathway helps organisms make better use of blue-green light and may protect the reaction center during fluctuating light conditions The deeper implication: Nature has evolved a sophisticated way to temporarily store and then cooperatively release electronic energy using spin-protected triplet states. This biological strategy offers new inspiration for designing artificial light-harvesting and energy-conversion systems that can buffer and regulate energy flow something synthetic SF materials have struggled to achieve. We are learning that evolution solved some of the hardest problems in photophysics long before we started trying. How might understanding biological singlet fission change the way we design future solar energy or quantum-inspired technologies? May this young man's Soul Rest in Peace. The carnage continues due to unprecedented levels of greed, dereliction of duty, and lack of accountability. The funds are actually there and have been provided over the past decade. The Ministry of Finance Ministry of Finance has released about UGX 100 Billion since 2019 for a Department of Government whose main responsibility and objective should be prevention of road crashes. These funds have been spent on activities with very minimal impact on road safety. This information has been shared with IGG, Office of the Auditor General Uganda, Criminal Investigations Directorate-UPF. How do you explained the death of a young man in a fatal road crash that caused the incineration of the vehicle which he was driving? He must have been driving in one of the best motor vehicles in this country given the wealth of his family. He was driving a motor vehicle which probably had good safety features on a smooth road without pot holes. It is easy to draw conclusions like he was speeding, he was fatigued, he lost control of his motor vehicle, he made errors, e.t.c. Whereas all that may be true, did he deserve to die in such a gruesome way for those errors in judgement? The answer is a BIG NO. The truth is government failed him in so many ways. At the center of modern day road safety management is recognition that errors made by road users (drivers, motorcyclists, cyclist and pedestrians) MUST NOT lead to their demise. Here is a situation he found himself in: Concrete Barriers on a road that encourages high speed. Who has the onus to remove this hazard? Government. I could have perished in the same circumstances a few years back before the completion of the KEE on the way to the Airport. It was a rainy early morning at about 5:00am and I drove through barriers which were made of plastic. So why were these not made of plastic? Was there a provision for lighting on that section? If not, it should have been there. This is what we mean when we say roads should be forgiving. Apart from their design, road sides are the major reference here. The road should have forgiven him for this error if it had plastic reflective barriers. These kind of barriers would have caught his attention and he would have stopped his car instead of killing him. Were the traffic lights functional? Why was there no hazard signage or warning of any sort since there were barriers in middle of the road? This section of the road is built as an expressway and as such encourages speeding especially at any time beyond midnight. There are no traffic calming measures in place yet it is freely used by pedestrians and Boda-Bodaz like any other city road. Roads are supposed to be designed and constructed bearing in mind the activities that take place around them (Land Use). Interventions to control speed must be implemented if there is a high volume of different road users. They would have got his attention and he would not have died. A glaring example of contractors that do not care about road safety is on the section of Kampala-Masaka in the swampy section of Lwera. The Concrete Barriers are there and in places where they are not, there is nothing preventing a motor vehicle falling off into the swamp. Not even a rope. UNTIL THE DAY WHEN THE LEADERSHIP OF THIS COUNTRY ACCEPTS THAT ROAD CRASHES ARE PREVENTABLE AND PARLIAMENT STARTS DEMANDING ACCOUNTABILTY ON ROAD SAFETY, THIS CARNAGE WILL CONTINUE. ACCEPTING THERE IS A PROBLEM IS THE FIRST STEP TO SOLVING IT OR MANAGING IT. TOMORROW IT MIGHT BE ME OR YOU. LETS STOP PAYING LIP SERVICE TO UGANDANS ESPECIALLY ALL THOSE FAMILIES THAT LOSE LOVED ONES IN THIS MESS OF GREED AND LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY. This woman was going out and decided to pull into a dark road on the side of the highway that doesn’t get much traffic. She pulls her car over and gets sets up a camera and gets out so that she could do a “fit check” to make sure her outfit looks nice. There was a man who was walking away from her, as soon as she turned her back, he turned around and started walking towards her. She should have been more aware of what was happening around her. I think the man was hoping she would stick around longer, that’s why he turned back around. Wouldn’t you pick a more busy place to do something like this instead of a remote road away from traffic. In college sometimes I was working some odd jobs to make ends meet so I didn’t have to take out a loan. That meant sometimes I was walking back to the apartment at night, most of the time it was busy and there were people still walking around in the middle of the night, getting food or trying to make it home. It was a colder night than usual, the fall goat was warning me that winter was coming. Colder nights meant less people out and about. On the way home I was going to swing by the corner store to grab something to eat so I wouldn’t have to cook. As I was walking out I saw that there were a group of people at the corner, just hanging out and having a smoke, it was dark and I couldn’t see how many there was. I turned around and went back into the store. I let the clerk know and he looked out to see what was going on and he saw them too. He said to be careful because sometimes gang members like to hang out by that corner. I couldn’t call the police because they technically weren’t doing anything but I wasn’t about to find out either. I ended up waiting until they left about 15 minutes later.c then I proceeded to walk home, but not without looking behind me to make sure I wasn’t being followed.

70% of the humanitarian aid transported from a new $320 million floating pier built by the U.S. military off the Gaza coast was stolen on Saturday en route to a U.N. warehouse. It would be funny if it wasn't so predictable. Stolen by Hamas to sell to Palestinians and to starve poorer Gazans to make Israel look bad. Israel took operational control of the crossing weeks ago, but Cairo so far has refused to cooperate with Israeli authorities to facilitate the entry of aid through Rafah. The Israeli government wants to allow aid into Gaza through the crossing but is unable to do so without Egyptian cooperation. Because Egypt can’t allow weapons to flow in if they do. Let's still blame the Jews. It's so weird how the Jewish people always get scapegoated throughout history. Small, insular community that doesn't evangelize and prefers to keep to themselves. Those types of groups usually have a harder time fighting back, so they make easy targets. Blaming Jews is the world's MO. You stub your toe? Blame the Jews; Traffic jam? Blame the Jews. Hell when Israel was first established, they get invaded a few hours later. It's a complete myth that Gazans lack humanitarian necessities. The sheer number of aid they receive since the second month of the conflict is enough to supply a 5 times bigger population. The fact that local terrorists and crime families rob their own people is a different matter. In the long run, Israel is doing the average Gazan citizen a huge solid by suppressing the power of such elements.
