Yesterday, I had an awesome back seat ride in the F-15EX Eagle II with Lt. Col. Brandon Wigton, a fighter pilot with the Oregon National Guard’s 142nd Wing. Lt. Col. Wigton flew for the Navy and now flies the latest next-gen fighter in the Air National Guard. Go Guard!

A tense moment at Ernesto Cortissoz Airport after an Aerosucre Boeing 727-227 (HK-5216) made an emergency return to Barranquilla due to a suspected left main gear fault. After holding at 3,000 ft for nearly an hour, the crew executed a careful landing on Runway 05 — but the left gear collapsed on rollout, causing the wing to scrape along the runway. Despite substantial damage to the left wing and gear, the crew kept the freighter on the runway. No injuries were reported. Aerocivil has opened an investigation into the incident.
