This Supreme Court just gutted the Voting Rights Act, opening the door to more racial gerrymandering. This is unacceptable, and Congress must act to protect it. If the Court won’t protect one of our most fundamental rights, we need a new Voting Rights Act strong enough to stop politicians from picking their voters and silencing communities of color.

Jon Favreau: If Democrats get the majority again, the John Lewis Voting Rights Act would have done away with all partisan gerrymandering, and we would have independent redistricting all across the country. That is the dream, independent nonpartisan maps in every state so you don't have this race to the bottom that we're engaged in right now that Republicans started.

Instead of leaving Washington for recess, let’s spend a month forcing Democrats to explain why they oppose voter ID. If John Thune is unwilling to do the work, he needs to RESIGN.
