Projecting vehicle detections onto actual map coordinates is the hard part, and the useful one. Most traffic camera work stops at "car detected in frame," but converting that to mapped position and trajectory is what turns footage into trackable movement. ByteTrack is the right call for holding identity across frames. The same technique applies straight to OSINT: verifying claimed vehicle routes, reconstructing an incident from street-level video, or reading movement in conflict footage. Ordinary camera feeds becoming trackable intelligence is exactly the kind of capability worth watching, even if the position conversion is still approximate for now.
