The reason is no mystery โ a substantial majority of street-homeless Americans are managing untreated severe mental illness, active substance abuse, or both. The "empathetic" policy that emerges from Porter's framing is to leave them on the street. The actually humane policy involves involuntary commitment, mandated treatment, and structured housing โ every one of which the empathy-coded liberal reflexively rejects as cruel. In his work on opinion dynamics, an extreme view captures a population at roughly ๐๐% activated support โ provided the activists do three things consistently. They activate latent prejudices already present in the population. That coalition โ Galam's ๐๐% โ is what flips the country. Hasan is just the visible 5%. This is also why Pratt's UCLA paper matters. ![Ambassador Chas Freeman: Israel Is Worse Than Nazis Itโs very clear what Israel wants. Itโs made no secret that it wants to depopulate Gaza by whatever means it can, by starving people into leaving, expelling them, or killing them all. And thereโs no question that it meets the definition of genocide. They have the intent to destroy an entire people. They have the ability and they are, in fact, carrying out an operation intended to do so. I think itโs also quite clear why Hamas did what it did. This was in the nature of a jailbreak from the worldโs largest concentration camp. And having been treated like animals they behaved like animals. What they did was horrifying, it was inexcusable, but it was understandable. The Israeli reaction has been vastly disproportionate and that is Israelโs custom. It tries to react disproportionately in order to intimidate and deter anyone from attacking it. That is not new but what is new are the genocidal statements and proposed emptying of Gaza. 60% of the buildings in Northern Gaza have been destroyed and we know that over 12,000 Palestinians have been murdered by one means or another. Israel has destroyed most of the hospitals in Gaza. It now seems to be working on the schools. So it is totally ruthless and the whole thing is particularly macabre because it is such a vivid reminder of the Warsaw Ghetto, a very parallel situation in which driven beyond any ability to tolerate what was being done to them, the Jewish inhabitants of the Warsaw Ghetto rose against Nazi Germany and the Nazis exterminated them all and leveled the ghetto. One would think that the survivors of that Holocaust and the larger Holocaust in Europe would not wish to repeat a holocaust against another people but evidently, that is expecting too much of human nature. It now appears that much of the killing at the music festival was actually done by Israeli forces who fired indiscriminately at both the Hamas warriors and the milling crowds at the festival. Similarly, some of the major damage in the kibbutzim and the murders of the settlers there were done not by Hamas but by Israeli forces firing tank bullets into houses and hellfire missiles into cars and so forth. So this was a dreadful beginning to what has turned out to be an absolutely nauseating months and a half of slaughter, not finished. The United States has the ability to stop this by halting armed supplies to Israel but does not do that, opposes a ceasefire in support of Mr. Netanyahuโs revenge against the Palestinians, and Mr. Netanyahu, I would remind you, is on record many years ago as expressing hope for a war in which Israel could expel all the Arabs in its midst and seems to be taking advantage of this to do that hoping, I suppose, that his reputation which has been greatly damaged by charges of corruption and by his suspension of judicial independence in Israel, can somehow be redeemed by this act of revenge. Where we are is a very bad place. What Israel is reporting is extraordinarily crude propaganda, some of it obviously, utterly false, and theyโve been caught. Even some of the mainstream media are beginning to report that the Israeli Defense Forces are lying about a huge number of things. Younger people, generally in the West, certainly in my own country the United States, are far more inclined to be sympathetic to the Palestinians than they ever were before. Itโs not that they dislike Israelis but now confronted with with graphic images of horror, the murder of 12,000 [Palestinians], theyโre not dispassionate. Not only are they demonstrating in all of the worldโs capitals for a ceasefire which their governments declined to support for the most part, but social media is now overwhelmingly pro-Palestinian as opposed to pro-Israeli. But I think the Palestinians, generally, have been motivated to remind the world that they exist. That their problems canโt be set aside. The Israeli government, with the connivance of the Biden Administration, and before that the Trump Administration, was making an effort to set the Palestinian issue aside in order to produce Arab-Israeli normalization. And the Palestinians set out with this raid into Israel to demonstrate that that is impossible, that the only way that you can have peace in Palestine is with a two-state solution. And oddly enough, although Hamas, of course, started as a movement funded in part by the Israelis โ Mr. Netanyahu has openly admitted that he corroborated with Qatar to fund Hamas in Gaza in order to divide the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza โ I think Hamas seized the moment to provoke Israel into doing exactly what Israel has predictively done in order to make it clear to the world that you have to have a two-state solution which had become a talking point. There was no reality to it at all. There had been no peace process for twenty-some years. Now there must be. People have recognized that the one-state solution โ which many favored, meaning a purely democratic one-man-one-vote arrangement in Palestine in which inevitably the Jewish population given its higher level of culture, civilization, and finance, would have called most of the shots โ is off the table. After all the hatred that has been demonstrated on both sides, coexistence in one state is obviously impossible in Palestine. Two states, however, would give the Palestinians a stake in peace. They have no stake in peace at the moment. Theyโre like a rabbit being swallowed by some kind of boa constrictor. As time goes on they go farther and farther down the throat of the snake and theyโre crying out, and they were doing so at a pitch that, apparently, no one internationally could hear. And now their cause has been dramatized. We canโt have a resolution of what is going on now that takes the form of another expulsion of Palestinians, more tolerance of massacres, the condoning of genocide... and I think those in the West, including President Biden, who has been prepared to give Israel a pass on these issues, are beginning to pay heavily in terms of their political prestige in their domestic politics. Settler colonialism invariably leads to some attempt at genocide. That was the case in the United States, Canada, and Australia. It wasnโt the case in New Zealand because the Mฤori were too tough. It wasnโt the case in South Africa because the Zulus, and other South African blacks, were too tough. It wasnโt the case in Kenya because, eventually, black Kenyans rose up in the Mau Mau movement, which was itself a horror, but it did result in a separation from the colonial rule of the British. The same thing could happen. Now the difficulty of all this is obvious in terms of the fact that youโve got an Israeli cabinet that is the most determined, genocidal cabinet the world has ever seen, and I donโt excuse the Nazi cabinets from that comparison. The overt statements of genocidal intent are unmistakable. Thereโs no effort, as the Germans did make, to conceal what is in store for the Palestinians. Thereโs no fake camp for Jews like the one the Nazis set up to bring the Swiss Red Cross in to show how wonderful they were treating the people they had taken away from their homes. No effort whatsoever of that sort, just bombing and strafing and murder on the ground. Other countries like Australia are also walking down this path. Not quite there yet. How much of this is a reward for Hamas, and how much of it is actually countries like those who have repeatedly said Israel does have a right to defend itself, but are now struggling to stomach what theyโre saying you and your military are doing in Gaza?โ -- Prime Minister Netanyahuโs Response: โWell, first of all, those who say that Israel has a right to defend itself are also saying, but donโt exercise that right. When we do what any country would do, faced with this genocidal terrorist organization that has performed the worst attack on Jews since the Holocaust, I think weโre actually applying force judiciously. And they know it. They know what they would do if theyโre right next to Melbourne or right next to Sydney. You had this horrific attacks. I think you would do it, at least what weโre doing, probablyโ maybe not as efficiently and as precisely as weโre doing it. Weโve lost quite a few soldiers in that effort. But, thatโs the first thing. I think that, the second thing you ask is a Palestinian state. Well, the assumption, the prevailing assumption, in this, is that the problem that we have with the Palestinians is the absence of a Palestinian state. And if they were given a Palestinian state, they would stop the efforts to destroy the Jewish state. But the Palestinians were offered a state many times, including in the partition resolution, and they turned it down. They were offered statehood by my predecessors with lavish, lavish concessions. They turned it down. Because the Palestinians are not about creating a state; theyโre about destroying a state. Thatโs why they opposed the Jewish national movement to create a state. Itโs called Zionism. They opposed it before the inception of the Jewish state, and theyโve opposed it since. Theyโve opposed it when they had Judea and Samaria, the West Bank and Gaza in their whole. They didnโt say, letโs start, letโs create a state there. They didnโt say that, because, again, their goal is the destruction of a state. It defies imagination or understanding how intelligent people around the world, okay, including seasoned diplomats, government leaders and respected journalists, fall for this absurdity. Itโs so easy to verify, you know. And look at the PA. Okay. Look at the Palestinian National movement today is divided between two forces: The Palestinian Authority in Judea and Samaria, and Hamas in Gaza. Okay. Hamas in Gaza had a de facto state. It had a state and it used it to launch a war of terror against Israel, because their doctrine, that is, that the destruction of Israel should proceed with forceful and direct military and terrorist moves. Thatโs what they did on October 7th. Thatโs what theyโll do again if we donโt destroy them. The Palestinian Authority, on the other hand, says, โNo. First, Israel has to be reduced to indefensible boundaries. Youโve got to get them out. With the ICC, with the UN, with the Security Council resolutions: Drive them to indefensible boundaries and then deliver the blow, because Israel is too strong in its present configuration.โ These discussions are open. Theyโre held. Anybodyโ you donโt need Israeli Intel for it, believe me. You can just scour the web, youโll find it. Okay. So they have no difference about the goal. Thatโs why the Palestinian children in Judea and Samaria and the Palestinian children, that is, the Palestinian children under the PA, and the Palestinian children under Hamas are educated with exactly the same textbooks. Thatโs why the PA calls its public squares against mass killers of Jews. Thatโs why they have pay for slay: The more Jews you murder, the more you get paid. Or your family gets paid. I mean, so that thatโs the crux of the problem. The real reason that this conflict persists is not because of the absence of a Palestinian state, but the persistent Palestinian refusal to recognize a Jewish state in any boundary. Now, when you give them a Palestinian state, when they havenโt abandoned the goal of destroying the Jewish state, all youโre doing is youโre making, youโre bringing the next war closer. Again, Hamas had a state. You just brought the war closer. And if you did the same thing in Judea and Samaria, right above Tel Aviv, enveloping Jerusalem, some say cutting Jerusalem into two, thatโs all thatโs gonna happen. Youโre going to have the radicals again take it over, Iran, take it over, and start a state from improved boundaries, start a war with improved boundaries. Thatโs not going to happen. I think the solution to this problem is that the Palestinians should have all the powers to govern themselves in the places where they live, and none of the powers to threaten Israel. They should obviously reform their whole education system. They should reform their whole historical outlook and say, โAll right, you know, we accept that Israel is here to stay,โ not as a fact, as a physical or geographic fact, but as a fact of historical equity. You know, if they want to live here, next to us, they have to stop seeking our destruction. And to give them an independent state, with all the trimmings, is to invite a future war and a certain war. And thatโs something that, today the Israeli public forcefully opposes. Before the war, by the way, it was about, you know, a third [for a Palestinian state] / two thirds [against], in the overall population. Probably 60 [against a Palestinian state]/40 for a state. Or even more, against [a state] in the Jewish population. But now itโs changed more dramatically [to more against a state]. I mean, we had a vote in the Knesset, a few months ago, about the possibility, you know, of having a Palestinian state. And the result was 99 to 9. 99 to 9. And that covers a very broad spectrum. And today most of the Jewish public is committed โ is against the Palestinian state for the simple reason that they know it wonโt bring peace, but itโll bring war. To have uh, European countries, and Australia, march into that rabbit hole โ just like that, fall right into it โ and buy this canard is disappointing. And I think itโs actually shameful. But itโs not going to change our position. Again, we will not commit national suicide to get a good op-ed for two minutes. We wonโt do that. So why, why don't they like it? And then it was the work of John Titus who pointed out this problem that they've got in the US with the Constitution that made me look at that and think, right. And then I started investigating that further. And he's right about that. That is a problem. "But then they obviously need some sort of workaround. How are they going to have. Because the main point of central bank digital currency from the surveillance and control aspect is that we will all need digital identity in order to access our digital wallets, which will contain the currency and the currency and the wallets and our, digital identities will all be programmable so conditions can be set on everything that we do. "Every transaction we make will be subject to condition through some sort of smart contract probably, which will control it. Right. So you know, if you say the wrong thing or you know, you, you just write the wrong thing online, you could be punished by algorithm by controlling your access to money... "And so the key to that is central bankโ the programmability of central bank digital currency. But obviously that's not going to, may not work. There's a good chance that won't work in the United States which has got the US dollar reserve is an important currency. "So what are you going to do? So stablecoins and things like deposit tokens or tokenized deposits are variations of programmable digital currency. But rather than being issued by a central bank, they're issued by a commercial bank. So or in the case of stablecoins, a non-bank, a non-bank institution like Tether. So it's not a bank. "But you can use stablecoins for exactly the same. They slot into the system of programmability just as easily, if not more so than a central bank digital currency. Programmable digital currency and stablecoins do exactly the same thing, serve the same purpose as central bank digital currency or the other version, the commercial bank version is deposit tokens. Any of those will do. "Now in the US they've gone down the stablecoin route so they can issue the stablecoins which will be backed by US Treasuries, just like the dollar or just like any kind of dollar instrument will be one to one convertible for the US dollar. So the stablecoins are effectively the US dollar in, in digital form. "But instead of calling it a central bank digital currency, they call it issued by, it wouldn't have to be issued by the Fed. They call it a stablecoin, which is issued by a company like Tether or you know, someone like that. So it's the same system but using a workaround. And that workaround came with the Genius Act which, which came from an executive order that Trump made when he first came to office. "Because the Americans, quite rightly when they were electing their president, were concerned about central bank digital currency. I mean anyone that understands what it is should be terrified of it. A stiff remittance tax โshould have been day one. Of course, though, that was in the Big, Beautiful Bill. We had a remittance tax. Who watered it down? The Republicans. You have to confront the reality that the Republican Party does not want to deal with the issue because, fundamentally, what it exists to do is ensure corporate interests,โ DeAnna stated. โIโve spoken to these guys. I know how Republicans think. They all know where this is going. They all know how this movie ends. They all know that the country is going down, but they donโt care. They think they can make enough money, move away from it, put up their picket fence, and thatโs all theyโre going to have to do.โ When asked about the true motives behind engineered, unrelenting Third World migration into the West, DeAnna postulated, โI think what is driving the Great Replacement more than anything else is spite.โ โI think there is a pleasure in destruction for its own sake.
