𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐋 𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐌 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓 𝐁𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐃; 𝐀𝐃𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 & 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐒 𝐒𝐄𝐈𝐙𝐄𝐃 Acting on credible intelligence, the Commissioner’s Task Force, Khairtabad and Secunderabad Zone Teams, in coordination with the H-FAST Team and the Food Safety Officer of GHMC, conducted a surprise inspection at an ice cream manufacturing unit operating... under the name “Blue Bells Ice Cream” at Bapuji Nagar, Musheerabad. During the operation, one individual, Pattala Ashok, was apprehended for running the unit without a valid license and for engaging in the manufacture and sale of adulterated, unhygienic, and expired ice cream products, in violation of provisions under Cr. No.118/2026, U/Sec. 125, 318(4) of BNS, Musheerabad Police Station. The inspection revealed that the unit was involved in large-scale production and distribution of substandard ice cream products of various flavours, including Mango, Vanilla, American Nuts, Butter Scotch, Dry Fruit, Strawberry, Cream & Cookies, Special Flavours, and Malai Kulfi, along with small “Pepsi” ice cream packs. These were being supplied to wholesale and retail markets under misleading claims of quality. It was further observed that expired ingredients such as Pineapple and Custard Apple flavouring agents, along with synthetic food colours, were being used in the preparation process, posing significant health risks to consumers. The premises were maintained under highly unsanitary conditions, with improper storage and handling of raw materials and finished products, rendering them unfit for human consumption. A substantial quantity of adulterated ice cream products, synthetic food colours, and expired flavouring agents, collectively valued at approximately ₹1,75,000/-, were seized during the raid. The apprehended individual along with the seized material has been handed over to the SHO, Musheerabad Police Station, for further investigation and necessary legal action. The accused was found indulging in illegal manufacturing of bakery products under unhygienic conditions without valid licenses. During the raid, bakery materials and products worth ₹2,77,630/- were seized. Investigation revealed that the accused was manufacturing and storing bakery items in highly unhygienic conditions without food, trade, or labour licenses and without adhering to fire safety norms. The products were being illegally supplied to kirana stores, cafés, and hotels, thereby posing a serious threat to public health. A case has been registered in Cr. No. 68/2026 under Sections 274, 275, 318(4) BNS at Tappachabutra Police Station. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Addl. Police seized approximately 3,790 kilograms of adulterated dairy products worth Rs 18.26 lakhs on Wednesday, March 4, in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The accused, Mohammed Junaid Hussain, illegally manufactured adulterated dairy products, including ghee, cow cream, and buffalo cream. He sold them under the brand "Pride Dairy" located in Bholanagar, Banjara Hills, Road no 12. The police raided Pride Dairy and apprehended the owner, Hussain, 26 years old, who was allegedly mixing palm oil, vanaspati (vegetable oil) and other low-quality substances in ghee to sell it to the public .Police seized a total of 460 kgs of adulterated ghee, 70 kgs of adulterated mixed ghee, 2,090 kgs of adulterated cow cream, and 1,170 kgs of adulterated buffalo cream. These adulterated products were being sold as original pure ghee to the public, hotels, and event organisers, posing a significant risk to public health.

What’s really in the paneer you’re buying? > Hyderabad Task Force has uncovered widespread misbranding and adulteration in the paneer supply chain. >Cheese analogue products made using vegetable fats and non-dairy ingredients were allegedly being sold as paneer, malai paneer and milk paneer. >In several cases, products were marketed under labels such as “Fresh Paneer”, “Low Fat Paneer” and “Premium Paneer” without proper disclosure. > Inspections also revealed the addition of starch, excess water, non-milk fats, use of poor-quality or synthetic milk, sale of unlabelled products, illegal repackaging, and operations without valid FSSAI licences. > Around 45 outlets and 8 manufacturing units were inspected, with nearly 825 kg of suspected adulterated and misbranded products seized. Such practices can expose consumers to food poisoning, allergic reactions and inferior-quality food.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), in a major enforcement action against illicit cigarette manufacturing, has sealed a clandestine cigarette manufacturing unit in District Chakwal and seized a substantial quantity of raw tobacco, cigarette-manufacturing material, unstamped cigarettes and machinery. The overall economic impact of the operation has been estimated at approximately Rs. 211 million. The operation was conducted by teams of the FBR’s Intelligence & Investigation Directorate, Islamabad, in coordination with the Inland Revenue Enforcement Network. Acting upon credible information the teams raided the premises of Hunter Tobacco SMC Pvt. Ltd. located near Dharabi on Kallar Kahar Road, Chakwal. During the search, the enforcement teams found the premises being used for clandestine manufacture of cigarettes without the mandatory tax stamps under the Track & Trace System. The manufacturing unit had also not been integrated with the Track & Trace System, which is a mandatory requirement for tobacco-sector manufacturers. The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 12,600 kilograms of raw tobacco, sufficient for manufacturing around 630,000 packets of cigarettes, besides filter rods, cigarette paper, aluminium foil, packaging material and other manufacturing inputs. The seized goods were shifted to a government warehouse and the premises were subsequently sealed. The estimated revenue impact includes approximately Rs. 90 million in potential tax evasion that could have resulted from the sale of the cigarettes manufactured from the seized raw tobacco. The overall economic impact of Rs. 211 million also includes the estimated duty and taxes evaded on stock found at the premises and the value of machinery and other materials seized/sealed during the operation. The FBR has reiterated that the manufacture and sale of cigarettes without payment of applicable duties and taxes, as well as non-compliance with the Track & Trace System, constitutes a serious violation of tax laws. The Board is taking strict enforcement measures to curb illicit manufacturing, protect legitimate businesses and safeguard government revenue. Further legal action and criminal proceedings against the persons found involved in the illegal activity will be initiated upon completion of the ongoing investigation, in accordance with law. Navi Mumbai - The Food and Drug Administration and Navi Mumbai Crime Branch have seized 4,142 cartons of food products worth an estimated ₹5.75 crore after expiry dates on packaging were erased and replaced with new dates.The raid was conducted at Sadhana Enterprises in the TTC Industrial Area, Turbhe. Navi Mumbai - The Food and Drug Administration and Navi Mumbai Crime Branch have seized 4,142 cartons of food products worth an estimated ₹5.75 crore after expiry dates on packaging were erased and replaced with new dates.The raid was conducted at Sadhana Enterprises in the TTC Industrial Area, Turbhe. Officials found that manufacturing and expiry or use-by dates had been tampered with.
