The World Bank estimates that between 2012 and 2023, China attracted approximately one-third of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) flowing into developing economies, whereas Brazil received around 10% and India about 6%. India's share of global exports has remained stagnant for years, and the rupee has experienced its sharpest decline in nearly a decade, depreciating by 11% in 2025–26.
