The Ethanol Scam! OMCs pay 5% GST on ethanol & pass on that 5% cost to you as there is no INPUT TAX CREDIT on Petrol in which they blend Ethanol. Despite passing on the GST tax burden on you; the government charges VAT not just on 80% petrol but also on top of the 5% GST for the 20% Ethanol, which is already tax paid by you!
