The Govt is trying to fool us on the issue of the Ethanol blending policy. Firstly the Ethanol blending policy started in the 1970's in Brazil. They built a 360° infrastructure. The BJP released a 2013 gazetted notification from the UPA era to shift blame for the current anger surrounding mandatory E20 fuel. The Government thinks we are fools : so let's cut through the diversion and look at the real facts: 1️⃣ The Truth: The policy was originally envisioned by Late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. The UPA then moved further on it, conducted trial runs & notified the policy in 2013. 2️⃣ The Real Protest: Nobody is opposing cleaner fuel like E5 or E10. What we oppose is MANDATORY E20 fuel when 80% to 90% of vehicles on Indian roads today are physically not E20 compliant. 3️⃣ The Rushed Timeline: Even the NITI Aayog report recommended a gradual target of 2030. Why did the current government aggressively prepone this rollout without protecting existing vehicle owners from engine damage and mileage drops? But here is the ultimate double standard: If the BJP wants to blame the UPA for "laying the foundation" of this policy to escape public anger, will they also give Congress credit for laying the foundations of all the successful systems and infrastructures we enjoy today? But contractors pay netas their cut money & encroachers who cause traffic jams are vote banks of netas. We are told ethanol is “good for the environment” but to produce 1 litre of ethanol it takes 2500-3500 litres of water at sugar mills or above 10,000 litres per litre at rice mills! This when the country is facing water shortage. How is this good for anyone except the netas? Most ethanol distilleries are owned by netas, for example Nitin Gadkari ji’s son! And please tell me how is Gadkari ji announcing ethanol policy when he is neither the Petroleum Minister, nor Agriculture Minister, nor Industry Minister? We the people pay full price for our vehicles + road tax + insurance + tolls + GST on spares… and in return we get pathetic roads, terrible infrastructure & now forced ethanol-blended fuel that kills mileage & damages engines. Most Indian vehicles aren’t even E20 compatible ..yet Nitin Gadkari ji is forcing 100% ethanol norms on us! We the people pay full price for our vehicles + we pay road taxes, insurance, tolls, GST on vehicles, parking, GST on spares, basically or lot of money for everything that one can think of! And yet in return we get Pathetic roads, mostly terrible infrastructure, traffic jams and now fuel that destroys the engines and kills mileage of our vehicles! Most Indian vehicles aren’t even E20 compatible ..yet Nitin Gadkari ji is forcing 100% ethanol norms on us! We the people pay full price for our vehicles + we pay road taxes, insurance, tolls, GST on vehicles, parking, GST on spares, basically or lot of money for everything that one can think of! And yet in return we get Pathetic roads, mostly terrible infrastructure, traffic jams and now fuel that destroys the engines and kills mileage of our vehicles! Canadians should never fear persecution for sincerely held beliefs. This is why I have fought Bill C-9 from the beginning. While the Liberals claim it provides protection, people of faith across Canada are reaching out by the thousands with deep concern about how this bill will impact their ability to practice their faith freely. The government is elected by the people, and it's time that they listen to the people who will be impacted by this legislation, instead they have taken every action to limit debate. As we approach the stage of the final vote, I will not support Bill C-9, because freedom is foundational to our democracy.

And I say do not despair because in a democracy, as long as we can keep it, in our democracy the people, every individual has the power to make a decision about what this will be. And so let's not feel powerless. Because then we have been defeated. And that's not our character as the American people. We are not one to be defeated. We rise to a moment and we stand on broad shoulders of people who have fought this fight before for our country. And in many ways let us look at the challenge then that we are being presented and not be overwhelmed by it. The baton is now in our hands, to fight for, not against, but for this country we love.
