Earlier, the blending level of ethanol was 10%, and recently it was increased to 20%. ❓Has the government conducted any scientific studies or consulted research associations, such as the one in Pune, before increasing the blending percentage? 👉Another concern is that customers are not aware of ethanol blending in petrol, and retail shops are not displaying any details about it. It is reported that many retail shops are blending ethanol more than 20%, which may affect the mechanical side of vehicles. ❓I also have a question for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister. Given the current excess ethanol production in the country, are there plans to explore alternative uses for it? : Benny Behanan ji in Lok Sabha

But contractors pay netas their cut money & encroachers who cause traffic jams are vote banks of netas. We are told ethanol is “good for the environment” but to produce 1 litre of ethanol it takes 2500-3500 litres of water at sugar mills or above 10,000 litres per litre at rice mills! This when the country is facing water shortage. How is this good for anyone except the netas? Most ethanol distilleries are owned by netas, for example Nitin Gadkari ji’s son! Most Indian vehicles aren’t even E20 compatible ..yet Nitin Gadkari ji is forcing 100% ethanol norms on us! #WATCH | Vijendra Singh, President, All India Distillers’ Association (AIDA) says, "... We are ready to support the nation in this crisis time and find a solution. We can substitute 10% more petrol with ethanol, which can be easily done. It's being done in Brazil. So what our request is, start blending from 20-30% gradually. So 10% more ethanol can be consumed by Indian consumers. That is demand number one. Our second suggestion to the government is to commercialise the flex vehicles. Brazil has been running flex vehicles for many, many years. Many companies in India are ready with the prototype of flex vehicles... So they are ready to bring the prototype. But obviously, they will need some support from the government in terms of policy and maybe some tax relief... If you bring the flex vehicle in the country, two-wheelers and four-wheelers both... many vehicles will run on ethanol, no petrol required. The whole problem will be solved..."
