In another recent video, a woman openly stated that to escape the Assam Government’s crackdown on illegal immigrants, Bengaluru has become the safer option. On the August 16, 2024 edition of the Joe Rogan podcast, Peter Thiel said Alex Acosta "testified" to Congress when he was nominated as Trump's Labor Secretary that Jeffrey Epstein "belonged to intelligence," and that's why Acosta gave Epstein the supposedly lenient sentence in Florida. Acosta never testified to that before Congress. Thiel was just recycling the same old triple-hearsay 2019 Daily Beast quote, almost certainly originating with Steve Bannon, and then adding newly-invented details to make the quote sound even more authoritative. Somehow this ends up with Thiel claiming that Acosta made the "belonged to intelligence" statement in testimony to Congress -- which is just totally false. Completely made up. The only time Acosta actually did testify under oath on the matter, to DOJ investigators, he expressly *denied* having any knowledge that Epstein was an "intelligence asset," or that Epstein's purported ties to intelligence had any influence on the 2007-2008 plea negotiations in Florida. Thiel's entire theory of this issue, as usual, is premised on a fictitious narrative that he probably picked up from unscrupulous "researchers" on the internet. And of course Rogan just nods right along.
