The Balochistan National Party initiated a series of political education seminars from the 12th day of the sit-in protest camp at Lakpass Mastung. The series started with a tribute to the late Malik Saeed Dehwar and former chairman BSO Manzoor Baloch's life and contribution to the Baloch national movement. The second seminar would be on Babo Abdul Kareen Shorish and Malik Faiz Mohammed Yousufzai and the third seminar would be to honour pioneers of Baloch national politics Mir Abdul Aziz Kurd, Abdul Rahim Khuwaja Khail and Abdul Rahman Kurd. BNP invited all Balochi literary writers and intellectuals to participate in these public seminars going on at the sit-in protest camp at Lakpass Mastung Balochistan. Instead, they were quietly presented today without informing their families or lawyers. An additional five day remand was granted. Since then, we’ve knocked on every legal door, exhausted every lawful means to secure their release. According to the law, their detention period ended on June 22. Bibarg Baloch’s was due to end on June 25. Under 3MPO, a Review Board including the Chief Justice and senior judges must convene, review their case, and personally hear them. But no such board was ever formed. We repeatedly asked: on what legal grounds are they still imprisoned after June 22? The only response we received were baseless excuses that the ‘situation outside isn’t suitable,’ so they are being held for 15 more days. We challenged this, no individual has that authority. Only a formal Review Board can decide. Still, no official notification was provided. Our time was wasted. We went to the jail and waited the entire day. When we insisted, they finally brought a document but strictly forbade us from copying or photographing it. We were shown nothing official. No Review Board ever met. This is a completely illegal act. Under such lawlessness, even breathing has become unsafe. Since then, we’ve knocked on every legal door, exhausted every lawful means to secure their release. According to the law, their detention period ended on June 22. Bibarg Baloch’s was due to end on June 25. Under 3MPO, a Review Board including the Chief Justice and senior judges must convene, review their case, and personally hear them. But no such board was ever formed. We repeatedly asked: on what legal grounds are they still imprisoned after June 22? The only response we received were baseless excuses that the ‘situation outside isn’t suitable,’ so they are being held for 15 more days. We challenged this, no individual has that authority. Only a formal Review Board can decide. Still, no official notification was provided. Our time was wasted. We went to the jail and waited the entire day. When we insisted, they finally brought a document but strictly forbade us from copying or photographing it. We were shown nothing official. No Review Board ever met. This is a completely illegal act. Under such lawlessness, even breathing has become unsafe. These black laws are suffocating us all.” She appeals to lawyers, human rights organizations, the Baloch public, and all political voices of conscience: Rise. Speak. Act. Today in Quetta, the ATC extended the remand of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other BYC leaders by another 15 days. That makes ninety days under the 3MPO, fifteen in illegal custody, and sixty-five in police remand—nearly six months of imprisonment without a shred of evidence. For 57 days we have protested in Islamabad with nothing but our voices and our resolve. Inside parliament, ministers claim BYC’s fate lies with the courts. Outside, we see how those courts truly function: judges removed for refusing to extend remand, suspended FIRs revived when televised lies collapse. The laws used against the Baloch were never written to protect us; they were designed to justify our persecution. And when a judge, after fifty years in law, chooses the colonel over the constitution, what remains is only disgrace. We demand the immediate and unconditional release of BYC leaders. Their imprisonment has never been about law or evidence. It is about silencing those who organize peacefully, who invoke the Constitution instead of the gun, who insist that the voices of Baloch families cannot be erased.
