And then โ€” the move nobody saw coming โ€” Trump lifted some sanctions on Russian oil and called Putin directly to discuss Iran. Lloyd's reversed course. They never recovered. ๐ŸŽฌWHAT IS THIS SCARYNESS??? 1. A person who claimed to be a lawyer in Beijing, ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ผ ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐˜๐—ต๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ, posted a video sharing his observations. According to her, the window design there includes a tall frame and sturdy protective grilles. If someone had suddenly jumped out, there would certainly have been signs of damage, yet none were found at the scene. She also emphasized that: - The windows in the apartment open inward rather than outward, making it very difficult for someone to accidentally fall out from a loss of balance. - The height of the window makes the idea of "being drunk and accidentally falling" nearly impossible. - Even under the hypothesis of an intentional suicide, "๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฑ ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—น๐—น ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ ๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ป", which she found even more illogical. Dear Linda, This is my rebuttal to your analysis of Pierre and last nightโ€™s leadership review from your substack article. I even added a video to remind you of why Pierre's is still the right choice as leader of the opposition to deal with fiscally irresponsible Liberals in 2026. Youโ€™re arguing Linda, that the party should dump the one leader who exposed repeatedly and pushed Justin Trudeau out and expanded the Conservative base. Weโ€™ve debated this before, and youโ€™ve already conceded several points about Pierreโ€™s effectiveness and actual popularity. I hope youโ€™ll read this reply with that same honesty as when we spoke in spaces. You say Pierreโ€™s hiding in safe ridings and managed contests. The numbers say otherwise. You also frame Pierre as a โ€œknown quantityโ€ no one wants, even though heโ€™s driving engagement levels the party hasnโ€™t seen in decades. At some point, dismissing popularity starts sounding like frustration with voters, not leadership analysis IMHO. Youโ€™re convinced Mark Carney has already passed Pierre. Yet despite high personal approval, his partyโ€™s still neck and neck with the Conservatives. If flexibility is such a strength, why hasnโ€™t it translated into real momentum creating a huge gap between the parties? That's a question that requires an honest deliberation Pierre isnโ€™t avoiding fights. Heโ€™s staying focused while food prices are set to climb again this year, costing families hundreds more. Youโ€™re worried Pierre doesnโ€™t look prime ministerial enough abroad. But last I checked leadership isnโ€™t mainly about decoration Linda. While youโ€™re focused on optics, heโ€™s talking about an energy corridor and cutting the GST on new homes so the economy actually works. Fancy credentials donโ€™t win trade wars. Production does. A country that canโ€™t build anything has no leverage, no matter how polished its leader looks like or what he studied. The โ€œcult of personalityโ€ you complain about is really people who are done being told that looks matter more than results, even though Pierre by every metric I use in my industry of Marketing and Advertising he checks off. But more importantly than all that, there is a glaring issue that image will not placate...Over two million Canadians use food banks every month. At that point, image stops being persuasive wouldn't you think? Pierreโ€™s saying the uncomfortable part out loud, that's the problem. As I already told another recently, that's the issue Socrates outlined as the problem with democracy. People want candy... Not medecine when they are sick. Canadaโ€™s heading toward a fiscal cliff with massive new borrowing planned, when it was borrowing that got us into this mess when Trudeau borrowed close to $700B and doubled the national debt seemingly overnight. You think next year will be tough for him? Really? Itโ€™ll be tougher for Canadians who were told branding could replace basic math. Pierre has been consistent about the uncontrolled spending of the last 5 years, while Liberals seem to double down. History is crying in the corner after screaming for centuries that once the shine wears off a carefully packaged leader, people look for the one who told the truth when it wasnโ€™t popular. Presentation doesnโ€™t fix structural damage Linda. This isnโ€™t about Pierre. Itโ€™s about whether we keep choosing comfort over correction. Eventually, the pain forces the issue. When that happens, no one cares what the doctor looks like. They care whether the problem gets fixed. Vesper

In that moment, he remembers that only Allah controls outcomes, and he begs with sincerity, humility, and brokenness. His duโ€™a becomes pure, his tears flow, his heart soft, because nothing else seems capable of saving him. But when Allah, out of His mercy, removes the hardship and replaces it with comfort, wealth, ease and stability, many people quickly forget that the relief came from Allah. Instead of gratitude, they begin to attribute the success to their own intelligence, strategy, effort, and skill. They say: โ€œI worked hard.โ€ โ€œMy planning paid off.โ€ โ€œI am smart and capable.โ€ They speak as though Allah had no role. The same man who was once humbled by fear now becomes arrogant in comfort. The Qurโ€™an describes this as a form of foolishness because: 1. Hardship revealed the truth; that man is weak and in need of Allah. 2. Ease exposed the illusion; that man thinks he is independent and self-made. Allah is teaching us that the real test is not only in difficulty, but even more in times of abundance. Hardship pushes you to Allah. Ease reveals if you will remain with Him. The wise believer understands this, so when ease comes, he increases in humility, shukr (gratitude), sadaqah, and remembrance. He says: โ€œThis is from the grace and mercy of my Lord. Without Him, I can achieve nothing.โ€ But the foolish person lets his ego grow, forgets the One who answered him, and walks the earth as though he owns it. The verse exposes how quickly man forgets his dependence on Allah, mistaking divine mercy for personal brilliance. True faith is proven not in how we call upon Allah during hardship, but in how we remember Him and show gratitude when the hardship is gone.

The committee that spent two years demanding accountability for evidence destruction destroyed its own evidence on the way out the door. Now apply the standard Mueller's own team established. They raided Paul Manafort's home before dawn, guns drawn, because they were worried he might destroy evidence. That was the justification. The possibility โ€” not the act, the possibility โ€” of evidence destruction warranted a pre-dawn armed raid on a private citizen's home. What does the same standard require when the investigators themselves wipe 30 phones? When it's not a possibility but a documented fact? When it's not one person but the entire leadership of a special counsel team? Mueller was also, we now know, in consideration for the FBI Director position at the same time he was running the investigation into the man who would decide that appointment. All of it sourced from the official records, Budget and Polling Data from 338. When you see it plotted like this in an animation, itโ€™s hard to unsee how and what really happened. The Liberals weren't on track to win anything. They were staring at a devastating loss in the polls. This isnโ€™t โ€œ$300M vanishedโ€ clickbait. In 2022, TELUS said the quiet part out loud, adoption was a problem. By May 2024, Infoway was looking for new ownership. MPs asked for contracts, IP terms, payments and penalties between Infoway & Telus! That's when Camera's go dark!!! I know it's longer than usual, but it's worth it if you really want to know why the Liberals shut down committee yesterday. I pull back the curtains on what they're hiding for anyone who wants to know! PrescribeIT is the kind of government failure that hides behind words like digital health, innovation, and modernization. We've seen it before from Liberals with things like Arrivescam. In plain English, it was supposed to help doctors send prescriptions to pharmacies without dragging the country through another decade of fax machines. Then federal money went to Canada Health Infoway, TELUS became the major technical player, and suddenly a simple prescription system turned into a nearly $300 million procurement swamp. โ€ Michael Green, Infowayโ€™s CEO, sits in the middle of the institutional story. TELUS wasnโ€™t some side contractor either. They were selected in 2017 to help build and operate PrescribeIT by Infoway themselves. Then in 2022, TELUS basically said the quiet part out loud: adoption was a problem because doctors, pharmacies, EMR vendors, and pharmacy systems all had to play along and the foreboding reality was they weren't, and yet money still kept flowing to this obviously failed project. โ€ Then comes the money. TELUS reportedly received about $98 million, while PrescribeIT failed to reach the adoption needed to survive and they knew about this since 2022. So the real question isnโ€™t just what Ottawa spent. Itโ€™s what taxpayers actually bought. What did Canada own? What did Infoway own? What did TELUS own? Turns out Telus owns it all and we just gave them free money and they keep all the tech. โ€ Matt Strauss asked for the actual file: the 2017 Infoway-TELUS contract, amendments, renewals, IP ownership records, payment records, penalties, and termination details. In other words, the paper trail that would show whether the public got value or got played. โ€ Not the fluff. Not the slogans. The contract guts. So when the meeting reportedly went dark, the fair question is obvious: why does a failed e-prescribing project need this much discretion around who got paid, who owned what, and what Canada was left holding when it all fell apart? He immediately tried to reach Graham. Texted back and forth with Graham's assistant all day. Graham wouldn't take the call. Tucker called the behavior "unchristian, sneaky, and dishonest." And on the process point alone, he has a fair grievance โ€” if you think someone holds a view that serious, confront them directly first. But here's what Tucker left out of his wounded monologue. Franklin Graham didn't write that letter in a vacuum. He built a file. In 2024, Tucker hosted revisionist historian Daryl Cooper โ€” who argued that Churchill, not Hitler, was the chief villain of World War II and that the Nazis did not intend to k!ll Jews โ€” and praised Cooper as "the best and most honest popular historian in America." In December 2025, Tucker dismissed polling showing conservatives view radical Islam as America's greatest threat, falsely claimed no one in the US has been k!lled by radical Islam in 24 years, and argued that persuading white Americans to fear radical Islam is "an op" run by Israel. He called American Jewish Zionists Israel's "informal employees in the United States." At Charlie Kirk's memorial service, Tucker described the crucifixion of Jesus in a way that both critics and supporters interpreted as implying Jews or Israelis were behind Kirk's assโˆ—ssination. He then interviewed Nick Fuentes โ€” a self-described neo-Nazi and groyper โ€” on his show, sitting with him for a friendly conversation about "Zionist Jews." He platformed Joe Kent, who resigned from Congress blaming "Israel and its powerful American lobby" and went on Tucker's show to insinuate Israeli involvement in Kirk's dโˆ—ath. A study by the Jewish People Policy Institute tracking 3,000 Tucker videos found that by mid-2025, roughly 70% of his references to Israel were negative โ€” up from 50% earlier that year โ€” with AI sentiment analysis flagging a clear escalation toward content meeting the IHRA definition of antisemitism. Israel's Diaspora Minister called Tucker "the leading platform for fringe Holocaust deniers, conspiracy theorists, and blood libel enthusiasts who oppose the State of Israel." StopAntisemitism named him Antisemite of the Year for 2025. Tucker wants to know why Graham didn't call him first. Franklin Graham is 74 years old and has spent his entire life standing with Israel and the Jewish people. When he sees something that concerns him at this level, he goes straight to the president. Will tools like Windsurf result in fewer software engineers? "It feels like it's people hating software engineers who say this" says Windsurf cofounder and CEO Varun Mohan In today's podcast episode, we go into the engineering challenges (and tradeoffs!) of building an AI-powered IDE like Windsurf and how Windsurf has changed how the Windsurf dev team (and non-developers!) write software. Watch or listen: โ€ข YouTube: โ€ข Spotify: โ€ข Apple: Brought to you by: โ€ข CodeRabbit โ€” Cut code review time and bugs in half. Use the code PRAGMATIC to get one month free at โ€ข Modal โ€” The cloud platform for building AI applications Get started at Three of my takeaways: ๐Ÿญ. I asked Varun how using Windsurf changed the workload and output of engineers โ€” especially given how most of the team have been software engineers well before LLM coding assistants were a thing. A few of Varunโ€™s observations: โ€ข Engineers are more โ€œfearlessโ€ in jumping into unfamiliar parts of the codebase โ€” when, in the past, they would have waited to talk to people more familar with the code. Devs increasingly first turn to AI for help, before pinging someone else (and thus interrupting that person) โ€ข Mental fatigue is down, thanks to tedious tasks can be handed off to prompts or AI agents Varun stressed that he doesnโ€™t see tools like Windsurf eliminating the need for skilled engineers: it simply changes the nature of the work, and can increase potential output. While VS Code is open source and can be forked: VS Code Marketplace and lots of proprietary extensions. For example, when forking VS Code, the fork is not allowed to use extensions like Python language servers, remote SSH, and dev containers. The Windsurf team had to build custom extensions from scratch โ€” which took a bunch of time, and users probably did not even notice the difference! However, if Windsurf had not done this, and had broken the license of these extensions, they could have found themselves in legal hot water. So forking VS Code โ€œproperlyโ€ is not as simple as most devs would normally expect. One of the very surprising stories was how Windsurfโ€™s partnership lead (a non-developer) created a quoting tool by prompting Windsurf. This tool replaced a bespoke, stateless tool that the company paid for. Varun and I agreed that a complex SaaS that has lots of state and other features is not really a target to be โ€œreplaced internally.โ€ However, simple pieces of software can now be โ€œpromptedโ€ by business users. I have my doubts about how maintainable these will be in the long run: just thinking about how even Big Tech struggles with internal tools built by a single dev, and then when this dev leaves, no one wants to take it over.

โ€œDo you fear the result of the ballot box? He has proposed organizing the opposition around a short list of universal principles: โ–ช๏ธ Iranโ€™s territorial integrity โ–ช๏ธ Separation of religion and state โ–ช๏ธ Individual liberties, equality of all citizens, and the Iranian peopleโ€™s right to decide their democratic system through free and fair elections ๐—ก๐—ผ๐˜๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น. These principles are not controversial. They are foundational, and they should unite all Iranians who want a free and democratic future. That is exactly what terrifies his critics. ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ผ ๐—˜๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ป, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ก๐—ผ๐˜„ And the actors doing the legwork are familiar. The ideological left and the MEK (Mojahedin-e-Khalq), the same forces that helped dismantle Iranโ€™s institutions and derail its reform trajectory in 1979, are once again at the center of the effort. Alongside Iran-lobby networks that represent the Islamic Republicโ€™s interests abroad, they enjoy direct access to mainstream media and policy platforms. ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜‚๐—ณ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐——๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฏ๐˜ That access is used to whitewash the regimeโ€™s crimes, soften its image, and reinforce false narratives, including the claim that Reza Pahlavi lacks popular support, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Even the digital record mirrors the streets. When Iranians had access to Instagram and social media, Reza Pahlaviโ€™s videos consistently drew tens of millions of views and millions of likes, reflecting massive grassroots support from inside Iran. When the regime imposed internet blackouts and Iranians were forced offline, those numbers plummeted, not because support disappeared, but because millions were physically cut off from the platforms. When access returned, engagement surged again. The videos that did make it out of Iran during these periods told the same story. Any serious and credible opposition should be amplifying the voices of Iranians inside Iran, especially those risking their lives in the streets. That is the standard they claim to uphold. When those voices are loud, clear, and inconvenient, they cannot simply be ignored. Footage flowing out of the country was ubiquitous in its messaging. Across cities and regions, the same chants dominated protest videos: โ–ช๏ธ โ€œJavid Shahโ€ (Eternal King) โ–ช๏ธ โ€œReza Shah, roohat shadโ€ (Reza Shah, may your soul be at peace) โ–ช๏ธ โ€œShah, Shah, Shah bar-gardโ€ (Shah, Shah, Shah, come back) โ–ช๏ธ โ€œIn akharin nabardeh, Pahlavi bar migardehโ€ (This is the final battle, Pahlavi will return) These chants were not isolated or rare. They appeared repeatedly in raw, unedited videos from inside Iran, echoing across demonstrations in different regions and cities, spanning Iranโ€™s wide geography and cutting across social classes, ethnic communities, and religious centers. When those voices do not align with preferred narratives, they are not amplified. They are sidelined. The pattern is consistent. ๐—ข๐—ฏ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ช๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ช๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ง๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜ Instead of confronting the Islamic Republicโ€™s historic crimes against humanity, crimes that have left tens of thousands dead, entire generations traumatized, and a nation bled dry, many prominent โ€œIran analystsโ€ now devote a disproportionate amount of their time to attacking a single opposition figure. That figure is Reza Pahlavi, whose central position is calling for free and fair democratic elections and insisting that the Iranian people should decide their future. A quick look at their X feeds makes this imbalance impossible to miss. Their posts are rarely focused on the regimeโ€™s mass killings, systemic repression, or entrenched corruption. Instead, they are dominated by an ongoing fixation on Reza Pahlavi, not because he rejects democracy, but precisely because he advocates it and, by any fair and open vote, would likely prevail. As crimes against humanity and mass atrocities unfold at a scale not seen in generations, Iranian protesters face a campaign of violence that has left more than 40,000 killed, according to multiple reports, by the Islamic Republic and its foreign proxy forces. Amid this historic level of repression, smear campaigns intensify, narratives are carefully managed, and blame is deliberately redirected away from the perpetrators. This inversion is intentional and follows a long-standing propaganda and whitewashing playbook designed to shield the regime from accountability. History will remember who stood with the Iranian people and who chose narrative management over justice. Reza Pahlavi and those who support him are not afraid of the ballot box. So why are you?

Andrew Huberman recently told Bill Maher something that sounds wild โ€” that the long-wavelength red and infrared light present in sunlight and old incandescent bulbs actually passes through your body, charges your mitochondria, improves your vision, and helps regulate blood sugar. And that the short-wavelength-dominant LED lights now in most of our homes may be quietly undermining mitochondrial function. I was skeptical too. Professor Glen Jeffery at University College London โ€” one of the researchers Huberman specifically names โ€” published a study in ๐˜š๐˜ค๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ง๐˜ช๐˜ค ๐˜™๐˜ฆ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ต๐˜ด in July 2025 confirming that infrared wavelengths from sunlight measurably pass through the human torso, even through clothing, and that just 15 minutes of exposure improved color vision by 16% (blue axis) and 9% (red axis) in participants โ€” measured 24 hours later, even when light was blocked from their eyes during exposure. A separate study from the same lab showed that red light exposure reduced post-meal blood glucose spikes by 27%. These aren't fringe blogs. This is University College London published in Nature's Scientific Reports. The mechanism Huberman describes checks out. Your mitochondria contain water that absorbs long-wavelength red and infrared light โ€” the same reason reds disappear when you go underwater. That absorption drives better ATP production, the energy currency of your cells. The retina has more mitochondria per cell than almost any other tissue in the body, which is why vision improvements show up as such a clean measurable signal. The Biden administration's energy efficiency regulations effectively phased out most incandescent bulbs. The stated reason was energy savings. What was never part of the regulatory conversation โ€” at all โ€” was the growing scientific literature suggesting that the near-infrared wavelengths stripped out of LED lighting may have real biological consequences. Whether that was ignorance or indifference, the result is the same: Americans were nudged by government policy into lighting that the emerging science suggests is metabolically inferior. Huberman himself is practical about this โ€” he has LEDs at home and isn't panicking. Here's what the science actually points to: The primary solution is sunlight. Outdoors sunlight delivers near-infrared at levels no bulb can match. Even 15 minutes outside โ€” clothed โ€” appears sufficient to trigger measurable effects. If you work near a window, that helps too. For indoor lighting, not all LEDs are equal. Look for "full spectrum" or "broad spectrum" LED bulbs that include wavelengths in the 600โ€“900 nm range. "Warm white" LEDs (2700โ€“3000K color temperature) are closer to incandescent output and include more red-spectrum light than the cool blue-dominant bulbs. They're not a perfect substitute for sunlight, but they're meaningfully better than standard cool-white LEDs for this purpose. Eat near a window. If you're replacing bulbs, choose warm-spectrum LEDs. And maybe ask why a government that claims to care about public health never thought to ask what stripping infrared out of every American home might do to the people living in them.
