Emergency services and traffic officials are currently attending to the incident, with early reports indicating possible injuries and fatalities. Motorists travelling from Gauteng towards Polokwane are advised to off-ramp at Nyl Plaza and use the R101 route into the city. Those travelling southbound from Polokwane should also use the R101 towards Mokopane and rejoin the N1 at Nyl Plaza. The Premier has confirmed that there has been fatalities in the accident. In the second minibus, which was carrying 23 passengers, only one passenger had a valid passport. The two South African drivers are expected to face charges related to human trafficking. Temporally Traffic Disruption The Kenya National Highways Authority regrets to notify the public of the temporary closure of the the Nairobi Southern Bypass (Kikuyu Bound) between the Virtual Weighbridge and Ngong Interchange. The bus, travelling from Malawi to Johannesburg, is licensed to carry 70 passengers but was allegedly transporting 90 people. Authorities also found that the passenger list reflected only 25 passengers. SAPS and Immigration officials were called to the scene and investigations are ongoing. The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety warned that overloading endangers lives and said law enforcement will continue cracking down on violations of road safety laws.

Today I held two important meetings to review the progress on creation of the new TMARS-Traffic Management and Road Safety Bureau of TG and the TADASC- Telangana Anti Drug & Safety Committees in all educational institutions. Work on these has been going on for the last couple of months and is nearing fruition The TMARS is proposed to lead to standardisation of Traffic Management practices across the state and also enhance road safety through Highway patrolling and also taken up maintenance of traffic signals, setting up new ones , road signages and infra etc. The TADASC will extend the drive against narcotics into all educational institutions and make educational institutions responsible for spotting and informing the law enforcement authorities about any suspicious behaviour of students . The students will have to give affidavits regarding drugs and the educational institutions will be liable for not implementing this. They will appoint campus safety coordinators and work with students and authorities and will also look into ragging, acts against dignity of girl students, traffic awareness. Unless we save our next generation against this danger, we are going to lose this war against Drugs. #TelanganaPolice
