Senate leadership is choosing not to PASS the SAVE America Act, and it’s frankly inexplicable. The overwhelming majority of Americans want people to show an ID when voting. The overwhelming majority of Americans support passing this bill. I will continue to vote NO on any Senate bills until Senate leadership gets their act together and passes the SAVE America Act. I’m not backing down.

Peter Paul Emaju (Kasilo County) in Serere district asked the administration at Parliament to explain if the budget allocated for travels abroad for MPs also sets aside money for MPs spouses to accompany them when they leave the country. However, Adolf Mwesige, Clerk to Parliament replied saying the travel budget only caters for the MPs and not spouses and this limit can only be lifted if the Administration of Parliament’s Act is amended to extend the privileges to their spouses.

Ad Hoc Committee Chair has clarified these incorrect claims so public is not led to believe any MP is being prevented from participating in the committee’s work. Parliament covers logistical expenses only for full-time members of an ad hoc committee. Alternate members are supported when they are formally standing in for the full member. But any MP may use their travel entitlement as MPs are given between 88–96 single flights per year to attend any parliamentary business #AdHocCommittee
