A new report from Ukraine highlights the deployment of the HX-2 loitering munition by the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of the Air Force. Developed by the German defense company Helsing, the HX-2 has a reported range of up to 100 km, a top speed of 220 km/h, a 2.5 kg warhead, and terminal guidance capabilities. Germany has ordered a total of 6,000 HX-2 systems for Ukraine, with each unit reportedly costing around €17,000. So far, the HX-2 has only been publicly observed in service with the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of the Air Force. The brigade previously operated Helsing’s HF-1 system, which is based on the AQ 100 Bayonet airframe developed by Terminal Autonomy and integrated with Helsing’s software.
