Since AOC is trending, I thought I would remind everyone of this wonderful gem from January 2019. “The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change.” Seven years down. Five to go.

In 1995, 77.1% of global primary energy was provided by fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and oil). As of 2024, 76.4% still comes from fossil fuels. That's a 0.7 percentage point drop in 30 years. World governments have spent TRILLIONS of dollars on “green” energy projects, and it has barely made a dent in the energy mix (note, these figures are based on the substitution method for fair comparison, so it slightly lowers fossil fuel figures). The fact is that renewable energy sources, like them or not, are largely add-ons to existing energy sources (primarily fossil fuel and nuclear power) that provide us transient savings in optimal conditions. That may change in the future with battery backup as they become cheaper, but that still won't address the fact that oil is STILL going to be needed for lubricants, plastics, fertilizers, etc. Oil is the backbone of modern society, so even if it were to no longer to be used as fuel, it will be used in another capacity and wars will be fought over it.

But they were still made and have been embarrassingly wrong. From a “peer-reviewed” perspective, the CMIP5 and CMIP6 models generally show that the first September (the month with the Northern Hemispheric sea ice minimum) with “ice-free” conditions in the Arctic (i.e., the monthly mean sea ice extent falls below 1 million km²) will occur in the 2040s, perhaps as soon as the mid-to-late 2030s. 🔗 But, if I had to make an educated guess, I would say that those ice-out dates probably won't materialize either. Time will tell. These predictions of doom do far more to undermine the public's trust in science than build it.

It’s simple, Joey. Because actual conservationists do not want tens of thousands of acres of forest felled just to cover the it up with solar panels when a greater number of homes can be powered by natural gas or nuclear, which require far less land. Rooftop solar is fine (if you want to spend money installing it). ✅ Littering the landscape with solar is just silly and pointless. 🙅‍♂️

So, for that big announcement. I have been deep in the heart of Alabama today filming a scene for “End the Wait,” which stars my pal Dean Cain. I had a phenomenal time and can’t wait to see the movie in theaters about this time in 2026. It’s a tearjerker of a film and based on a true story.

If you think the planet is on fire, spend a little more time outside instead of looking at scary orange and red maps. It ain’t that bad.

Holy smokes. 🤯 Dr. Steven Koonin, respected physicist and former Obama-era science advisor, obliterated Texas A&M’s Dr. Andrew Dessler at a panel hosted by the Civitas Institute covering the findings of the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) climate report published last July. During the Q&A session, Koonin noted that climate models, on average, produce about twice as much warming as observations show (which is a fact when models are tested against independent data that they are not artificially tuned to—that is, fudged to agree with). Koonin went on to say that the scientific community has done a disservice to the public by misleading the masses with exaggerated claims. He argued that this has stunted economic growth in parts of the world and has raised energy prices. Dessler’s response? “Yeah, no, I mean, that’s buIIshit.” Koonin snapped back and told him that he shouldn’t use that kind of language in that setting, especially as a tenured professor at a major university. Dessler replied, “I’m sorry, but it is what it is.” He then spends the next minute tripping over his words trying to spin the DOE report as “misleading,” and its authors as committing “scientific felonies” by not going through “peer-review,” and by omitting information. Koonin, being witty, replied stating that Dessler himself omitted the fact that the quality of life has only improved as the planet as gotten warmer, and that it will continue to do so in the future. * eeemotional damage * Though a federal judge recently ruled that the report was assembled and carried out illegally (a pure political move), the science could still stand and be used to rollback regulations.
