There is zero room for error here. 😬 The ability for FSD v12.3 to judge if an opposing car is going to stop or go on a yellow light is exceptional. This left on yellow is one of the most risky maneuvers to execute and I’m so glad that the team has worked on getting this perfected. Tesla AI you guys rock!! Still little quirks to improve like moving forward more in the middle of the intersection and following through a left on yellow behind a lead car but this is really promising! Elon Musk Tezmeeinc

FSD’s anticipation is honestly scary good. When you first watch it, the Prius just looks like it’s making a normal lane change from two lanes over. But FSD was already preparing for something more. Only after you play it back with telemetry do you realize it starts slowing down before the intent is obvious. The Prius was about to cut all the way into our lane.

First safety intervention I’ve had to make on FSD v14 in about 1300 miles. During an unprotected left, FSD began the turn but hesitated and paused mid lane. I pressed the accelerator to clear before an oncoming vehicle would have had to stop. Unprotected left turns are still not fully solved and are one of the few situations that still get my heart rate up.

To blend into LA traffic, FSD needs better unprotected left behavior. When already in the intersection behind a lead car, you are expected to close the gap and clear the turn together once opposing traffic stops, even if the light turns red. Dangerous left turn handled exceptionally well by FSD v12.3 If you live in LA you will know that these unprotected forward facing left turns are the most dangerous part of driving here. And they are all over the city. It is obvious that the Tesla AI team has spent a good amount of effort into training the FSD v12 system to handle these with caution but also confidence. v11 wouldn’t even dare go through that. This is what a very capable robotaxi looks like. First, FSD 14.3.2 notices the stopped bus blocking the lane, so it signals far in advance and moves over. Then, as we get closer, the bus starts pulling out, and FSD quickly anticipates that it will encroach into our lane, so it safely brakes to let it in. Smooth operator.
