FSD’s anticipation is honestly scary good. When you first... watch it, the Prius just looks like it’s making a normal lane change from two lanes over. But FSD was already preparing for something more. Only after you play it back with telemetry do you realize it starts slowing down before the intent is obvious. Since v14, FSD has this weird obsession with moving... from the inner lane to the outer lane during a left turn. For me, it happens on every two-lane left turn. And it does it in a very jerky, dangerous way — even if it means cutting in front of another car, FSD will still insist on doing it. Is this because FSD is more afraid of hitting the curb at the corner than of getting rear-ended by someone else? This really feels like a serious bug to me. I’m not sure whether it’s because the model is overfitted to avoid curbs during turns, or because it was trained to always end up in the rightmost lane after a left turn. I honestly don’t know, but I really hope this gets fixed soon.show more

FSD faced a real life trolley problem today and... everyone lived. I was messing with the MCU when I felt the truck jerk right and then a harder jerk left. Cresting a hill a lady was coming into my lane so FSD moved to the shoulder to avoid her but a jogger was coming so it quickly veered left to give room. 💪🤘show more

FSD 14.1.3 swerved AT a pedestrian at 4 seconds... in. At least that's what I thought at first. Then I looked back at the footage and saw that the car to my left veered into my lane and FSD moved me over so I didn't get hit. We drive with two eyes that can only see in one direction. Super cool to see FSD track a hidden hazard... on the road! FSD spots a tire ahead. The van in front runs it over. FSD tracks it through full occlusion and is already moving over before it reappears I didn’t want to take any chances at the end, so I took overshow more

FSD appears to have trouble detecting barrier arm from... a distance. It reacted only at the last second at high speed, attempted to move over, and ended up striking it. This looks like a supervision failure as much as an FSD failure.show more

First safety intervention I’ve had to make on FSD... v14 in about 1300 miles. During an unprotected left, FSD began the turn but hesitated and paused mid lane. I pressed the accelerator to clear before an oncoming vehicle would have had to stop. Unprotected left turns are still not fully solved and are one of the few situations that still get my heart rate up.show more
