There was nobody better than Trevino when it was windy, he could hit a 4-iron from a 100 yards. A genius. This is the 14th at Maidstone. My first time playing the course and what a magnificent course it is. Is 14 a candidate for the best par 3’s in the world?

One of the main differences of the game today compared to my prime is the equipment. That’s why it is so difficult to compare players of different eras, it’s a different game. Equipment advances have improved the game for every golfer, including myself as I would not have been able to play at the level i do today if the equipment had not advanced as it has and for that i am thankful. Coming home to South Africa always fills me with gratitude. It’s incredibly moving to see people from around the world unite in support of the children at our little Blair Atholl Pre‑Primary School, and having Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy stand with me truly warms my heart. I’m thankful to Citadel for once again hosting their annual event, helping raise funds for the school’s endowment and ensuring we can continue giving these young children a place in the sun. I made a promise to my late wife, Vivienne, to protect this school and these children. Knowing that Citadel, Brian and Keith continue to walk this journey with me, year after year, means more to me than I can express. GP
