SHORT SUMMARY CLIP OF THE DEBATE Dr. White failed to see that we can agree that John 6:44 is saying “no one is able to come to the Son unless they are drawn by the Father and those drawn are raised up by the Son,” but that still doesn’t prove unconditional election. You can’t just PRESUPPOSE that the Father’s choice to draw is unconditional, you must establish it from the text. I demonstrated that God chooses to draw all those who listened and learned from Him to His Son so as to be raised up (45). And it’s “for this reason they were not granted to come…He knew from the start that they didn’t believe.” (64-65)…along with a half dozen other passages demonstrating that our election to salvation is conditioned upon faith. Dr. White never established his case. He merely PRESUPPOSED it. Then he repeated the same argument over and over again assuming two active participles must be understood as a passive reality for those unconditionally elected, as if that can be established from this text rather than from a presupposition being brought into this text.
