BREAKING: FIRE and College Pulse have just released the... 2025 College Free Speech Rankings. Surveying 58K+ students from 257 institutions, the results find that free speech has been threatened in historic ways since the Israel-Hamas war began. Expand to learn more ⬇️ 🟡 UVA was ranked as this year’s best school for free speech! Michigan Technological University, Florida State University, Eastern Kentucky University, and Georgia Tech round out the top five. 🔴 Harvard University is ranked as the worst school for free speech for the second year in a row. Columbia University and New York University round out the bottom three — each earning an “abysmal” rating. 🔴 Campus deplatforming attempts spiked by 400% since Hamas’ October 7th attack on Israel. 🔴 7 out of 10 students are uncomfortable publicly disagreeing with a professor about a controversial political topic. 🔴 54% of students report it’s difficult to talk about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. On 17 campuses where this issue was especially contentious, 75% or more marked the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as difficult to discuss. 🔴 1 in 4 students said it was unclear whether their college administration protects free speech. 🔴 1/3 of students approve of the use of violence at least “rarely” to stop campus speakers. 🔴 7 out of 10 students say it's at least “rarely okay” to shout down a speaker. Given all of this, it is unsurprising that American confidence in higher education is at a record low.show more

🧵 I have now heard from multiple The University... of Chicago students about something that happened on campus last week. Pro-Israel students followed the rules and reserved the quad for a rally. “Pro-Palestine” students showed up and did everything they could to drown out the event, an apparent violation of the school’s (good) free speech policy:show more

⚠️ Israel has begun a new wave of strikes... on Beirut, according to the Israeli military. Israel killed two professors in an airstrike on the Lebanese University campus, one of three Israeli attacks carried out in the capital Beirut this afternoon. Among those killed: • Dr. Hussein Bazzi, Director of the Faculty of Sciences • Dr. Murtada Srour, one of Lebanon’s leading physics experts. The Lebanese University is the country’s only national public university, a lifeline of higher education for thousands of students across Lebanon. These strikes appear aimed at pressuring the Lebanese government to confront Hezbollah. Has Israel run out of its so-called “military targets” that it is now killing professors at a university campus? What next - medics, students, journalists? Is this the Gaza playbook now being exported to Lebanon? A university campus. Two academics killed. This is what Israel calls “targets.” When universities become aims, even knowledge becomes the enemy.show more

"Our college budget is more than your country's budget.... " this is one of the worse statement from KIIT institution teachers. Where is the education gone ? This is not about India/Nepal or any other country, this shows how low education system we have , sad. You can’t give such statements to any country when it comes to education. 17th February, 2025: Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal, a third year student at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), was found dead on Sunday evening in the hostel campus of the university. The incident has sparked widespread protests near the KIIT campus. Students, including many from Nepal gathered on sunday night demand a transparent investigation. In response, two platoons of police forces were deployed to maintain order. Amid rising tensions, KIIT University issued a notice and forced over 500 Nepali students to leave the university. Nepali students were seeking an investigation since Prakriti complained about the harassement and torture in the university. Despite her constant appeal, University didnot take any action which led to the incident. #JusticeForPrakritishow more

JUST IN: Columbia & Barnard faculty hold walkout in... protest of the school's decision to call the police on pro-Palestine students. Enjoying every second of this 🍿 The liberal college is engaged in a "civil war" as professors are taking sides in the Israel-Hamas war, with 54 Columbia Law School professors sending a letter to leadership blasting them for suspending pro-Palestine students. Pro-Israel liberal professor Shai Davidai is on the other side of the conflict, hammering Columbia for barring him from entering the campus. The indoctrination system is eating itself alive. Well deserved.show more

🚨 Zainab Hakim is one of eight University of... Michigan students now under federal indictment for constructing a campaign of violence against U of M Board regents. She was the goddamn ringleader. Hakim led the pro-Hamas movement on campus that targeted and attacked university officials and Jewish students for over two years. She was allowed to operate on campus, coordinating protests that morphed into violence and multiple arrests. She was behind the attack on Board Regent Sarah Hubbard’s home. Hakim and other jihadists trashed her front yard, littering it with bloody body bags and decapitated baby dolls. Student terrorists showed up at 7 in the morning, screeching their brains out, then set up an encampment as a home base to torment her and her family. After this attack, Hakim’s group threatened to “poison her slowly” or drive a car straight through her home as her children were inside. Our tax dollars paid for this monster to attend U of M. The University of Michigan fleeced Americans for $1.3 BILLION in federal funding.show more

🚨 “The Communists are inside the gates!” - Mike... Johnson. Rebecca Cunningham is the President of the University of Minnesota. Her yearly salary is $1.095 MILLION with perks that would make you throw up. Her campus was given $628 MILLION in federal funding last year. They’re about to get another $628-$630 MILLION for 2026-2027. You know why? Because Mike Johnson’s GOP gave the Dept of Education $79 BILLION in January for campuses like the University of Minnesota. Rebecca allows the Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA), the youth wing of the DSA, to operate on her campus. In January, the YDSA mobilized hundreds of students and led them in revolutionary chants. “IDF, KKK, I-C-E, they’re all the same! ICE OUT.” For weeks, the students organized a campaign of doxxing, targeting ICE agents where they stayed in hotels, and assaults against federal agents. They attempted to obstruct ICE as it carried out the arrests of illegals, like the child rapist Tim Walz unleashed on his citizens. This wasn’t a handful of university students. It was HUNDREDS of students who have been influenced by socialist, communist, and pro-terror ideologies. Professors joined the students as they screamed for all illegals to be protected from arrest. We’re funding this national security threat. The GOP is part of the problem, but they have the power to stop this. CUT. OFF. THE. FUNDING. 🚨 Zanib Hakim was the goddamn ringleader of eight... students now under federal indictment for unleashing a campaign of violence against U of M Board Regents. That’s her in the video screaming her brains out, accusing Israel of being a terrorist state. Weird. That sentiment seems to be spreading, but I digress… Hakim was allowed to operate at U of M for years, leading the pro-Hamas movement and targeting university officials and Jewish students. She was part of a student organization called “Tahrir Coalition.” Not to be confused with multiple “Tahrir” jihadist factions in the Middle East. O_o Under her leadership, students littered homes with bloody, decapitated baby dolls, vandalized their windows with Hamas symbols, threw firebombs through windows, and threatened university officials with death. Our federal tax dollars paid for this domestic terrorist to go to U of M for 4 years. Tahrir Coalition is still operating on campus. The University of Michigan fleeced Americans for $1.3 BILLION last year. They’re about to do it again.show more

“Broken glass. Blood everywhere. All because we’re Jewish —... and tried to open dialogue.” Jewish students at Toronto University were attacked by a mob of Free Palestine students while hosting an event with IDF veterans. Free Palestine protestors, cosplaying as Hamas terrorists, violently forced their way into the program while Jewish students barricaded themselves behind a glass door and furniture. The attack left multiple Jewish attendees injured, one of them bleeding from a deep cut in their forearm. Toronto police made multiple arrests. We have to start calling this what it is: domestic terrorism. SJP proudly stormed this event with the intention of using violence and intimidation against Jewish students. This is terrorism. Antisemitism is out of control in Canada. It’s not normal. It can’t continue to be the new normal.show more

🚨 For the second time in weeks, the Students... for Justice in Palestine at Swarthmore College have committed acts of domestic terrorism. President Valerie Smith’s yearly compensation is $757,000. This genius has done nothing to stop students who are publicly calling for the deaths of American soldiers, and lending material support to U.S.-designated terror organizations. On April 12, the SJP held a rally, calling for Iran and Hezbollah to bomb our forces. On May 1st, the students committed “hundreds of acts of vandalism” on campus, marking school buildings with Hamas symbols that target the deaths of individuals. Our Dept of Education is set to hand Swarthmore upwards of $1 million in federal funding, despite being a private institution. HT SurgePhilly for videoshow more

Hey Brandeis University I am an Arab Israeli student... at your institution. During my two semesters at Brandeis, I’ve had many professional and respectful conversations with students about the ongoing war between Hamas and Israel. No one called for my death, or the death of other Israeli and Jewish students on your campus—until now. I speak Arabic, unlike the masked individuals in that video. I know exactly what "Intifada" means. You don't. I know what it feels like to ride a bus, not knowing if it’s going to explode. You don’t. I know what it feels like to hear the words "Global Intifada" and the violence that follows. You don’t. I chose Brandeis University, out of all the universities in the area, because I believed it would be the one place where masked fanatics wouldn’t be chanting support for jihadist suicide bombings. What’s happened on your campus is a disservice to students like me who came here seeking refuge from the hateful support for global jihad we’ve seen in other academic institutions. Brandeis was built as a safe haven for Jews and other minorities persecuted and segregated from academia. And look at you now. I know for a fact that you wouldn’t allow a group of Neo-Nazis or KKK members to march on your campus. Yet, you allow jihadist fanatics to march and openly call for the death of Jews and Arab Israelis. Shame on you Brandeis University.show more

OAU transport system was near perfect, adequate buses and... bikes, we rarely experienced queues until the First Lady came and decided she didn’t like the ease of transportation and introduced “change” by donating CNG buses. The school management in turn banned all motorcycles and commercial buses on campus and subjected over 30,000 students to just about 50 buses and a few tricycles. OAU has one of the largest land masses of any Nigerian university, yet students are now stranded daily. This is a Monday morning where students are supposed to rush for class, but they are stuck at the campus gate because of the inefficiency of the CNG buses. Students are struggling to go to class in the morning and in the evenings to even get back to their hostels. Students staying off campus now spend almost double to get to campus, all alternative transport means have been removed The management have cars to bypass all of this, but majority of students do not. Yet they released statements talking about how the buses will “ease transportation” and even implied students appreciate the system. Meanwhile, students are trekking, missing classes, and spending hours in queues. Let it be clear that students do not appreciate this system. It has made our lives harder, not better. What used to be a smooth system has now become a daily struggle. There are many pressing issues in this school, but they chose to dismantle a working transport system and replace it with hardship. We can no longer remain silent. Let the whole world know what OAU students are going through. Please if you come across this tweet, help us retweet it whether you are an OAU student or not We demand our towngboro buses and motorcycles back.show more

🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING: COLUMBIA BUSTED FOR 19 MONTHS OF IGNORING... JEWISH STUDENTS' SAFETY Federal investigators just dropped the hammer on Columbia University for "deliberate indifference" to antisemitic harassment that's been terrorizing Jewish students since October 7, 2023. HHS' Civil Rights Office found Columbia violated Title VI by failing to protect Jewish students from a hostile campus environment—including swastikas drawn in classrooms that went uninvestigated. Anthony Archeval, Acting Director of OCR: "The findings carefully document the hostile environment Jewish students at Columbia University have had to endure for over 19 months, disrupting their education, safety, and well-being." The violations? Columbia failed to establish proper reporting systems, ignored its own policies when Jewish students complained, and let protesters run wild around academic buildings and dorms. This comes after Trump already yanked $400 million in federal funding from Columbia in March. Source: HHS Office, WSJshow more

I was at Mahindra University in Hyderabad Mahindra University... last weekend, to preside, as Chancellor, over our 4th Annual Convocation. A particularly exciting feature of the trip was to see the innovation that is bubbling up all over the different Schools in the University. The diversity of the projects was energizing. A couple of examples: The Engineering School students have developed an autonomous E-shuttle that will be able to provide point-to-point unmanned transportation around the 100 acre campus. And Santosh, a new faculty member of the School of Design Innovation, showcased a line of footwear he had conceptualised (along with IIT Madras and ISB) using Gongadi fabric, woven from the coarse, warm wool of native sheep breeds. For centuries, it’s been made by local weavers for tribal and pastoral communities to keep warm in the chilly winters of the Deccan plateau. He’s adapted it to make footwear that local farmers can use which is easy to clean and maintain despite usage in muddy terrain and hopes to take the project forward at Mahindra University Universities must, and will leverage innovation that improves the quality of our lives…show more

The professor at JGU who thinks "Jai Shree Ram"... is problematic & Hamas is being unfairly "trolled" by students she likes to stereotype as "Right wing" on campus is seen running "Bumble", a dating app (like Tinder), swiping people left -right in her class making students extremely uncomfortable (check attached chats) bordering harassment. I request Renu W Bhatia to take cognizance of the issue. From the chats its clear that students are afraid of speaking out because they fear for their marks. Brainwashing coupled with harassment is quite telling of the predatory mentality of such political activists who masquerade as "teachers". I'm beyond disgusted. The University has clearly become a hub for everything except teaching. It's about time you put the house in order Naveen Jindal. Continued silence and brushing aside such serious matters in a learning environments opens broader questions of what really is being done to the youth of our country in the name of education!show more
