Worst FSD critical takeover I've ever had – potentially... fatal – and I've been an OG beta tester across multiple vehicles. On 14.3.3, the car appears to misread round red glare spots as a small animal and jerks hard into oncoming traffic. Had I not intervened, a head-on was likely. Reported as critical. This is the regression you get when you raise the gain on small-animal detection: a phantom obstacle triggering an evasive swerve into oncoming cars. The other day, FSD was driving me home, and... I was surprised to see it taking forever to complete an automatic lane change. Just as I was about to intervene, I noticed a motorcycle pass me, seemingly out of nowhere. FSD had been tracking the motorcyclist and was aware of its location the entire time. As soon as the motorcyclist passed, the ego car safely completed the lane change. As a motorcyclist myself, this made me very happy as it is yet another example of how FSD is making our roadways safer. Great work Tesla AI team!show more

FSD took me into the HOV lane yet again... today despite me being the only passenger in the car. This time when I yanked it back into non-HOV lane and tried to engage FSD again, it blinked red asking me to take over immediately and displayed a message on screen saying FSD aborted due to system error. Yesterday FSD nearly drove into the concrete jersey barrier on hwy 17 as I was traveling to Santa Cruz California. I intervened a fraction of a second before impact. This video doesn’t show the event but does show the conditions a few minutes later when I thought to honk the horn to save a clip. I have used FSD for years and this was the most epic fail. One of the biggest detractors from the FSD user... experience is the last-second lane changes, often leading to completely missing, or narrowly missing an exit or turn. And at high speed, that’ll make the hairs on your neck stand up. Tonight, I tested the latest Tesla FSD build v14.2.1.25... on my Cybertruck while turning into my neighborhood—and unfortunately, the persistent phantom emergency braking bug is still there. The vehicle suddenly slams on the brakes, detecting a nonexistent “ghost” obstacle in the road. (See video) This issue first appeared with FSD v14.1 and hasn’t been resolved yet. 📍 GPS location: 28.240491, -81.606942 My nearby friend with a 2025 Cybertruck experiences the exact same problem at the same location. Notably, it happens in both FSD mode and regular manual driving—but only started after the v14.1 update. One capability I want to see Tesla AI ensure... FSD has is understanding situations like this where a trash loaded trailer is on the highway at speed and the software understands this could be a situation where debris might blow out of the trailer and move back or over to another lane. That’s what most humans would do and it’s to protect from potential future damage or a dangerous situation.show more
