Around 3 p.m. today, we witnessed a heartbreaking and... shocking incident at Kenyatta National Hospital. A patient who had been detained because they could not afford to clear their hospital bill attempted to take their own life. It was a painful and disturbing scene that no Kenyan should ever have to witness. No one seeking medical care should be pushed to such desperation because of financial hardship. That means you don't have to install ANYTHING on your Mac to send files from your Android phone! Here's a video of a Galaxy Z Flip 5 AirDropping a file to a Macbook running macOS Ventura 13.5.1. (Thanks to u/FragmentedChicken for testing this app for me and sharing the video!) A few months ago, Twitter user @Linus13499209 brought an app called WarpShare to my attention. WarpShare is an app made by the developers of MoKee, an AOSP-based custom ROM that was popular in China. Since MoKee wasn't as popular outside of China, it seems the existence of their WarpShare app slipped under the radar. I was skeptical about whether it would work at all. Grishka, the developer of NearDrop, an open source port of Google's Nearby Share to macOS, told me that they were under the assumption that AirDrop requires the use of AWDL (Apple Wireless Direct Link, Apple's proprietary WiFi-based protocol) to communicate both ways. However, it seems that AWDL is only required for your Android phone to be discoverable by your Mac (ie. to send files from your Mac to your Android phone) but not the other way around. Because of this, though, WarpShare only supports sending files from Android to Mac but not vice versa. Your Mac also needs to have AirDrop discoverability set to "everyone" for this to work, as "contacts-only" requires Apple-signed certificates. Plus, it also doesn't support sending files from Android to iPhones or iPads, even when "everyone" mode is enabled. Still, if you find other Android --> Mac file sharing options to be lackluster, give WarpShare a try! The fact that it works at all is incredible, which is why I'm sharing this news here. The Australian government does not deserve our trust, or... our respect. Today, Minister Penny Wong sat back in her chair grappling for words, desperately looking for the right lie to tell. It is worse than dishonest - it is an absolute lack of care. Penny Wong came to this country when she was 8 years old. She came to a country that afforded her the ability to become who she is, and she is now doing her part to destroy it. Back in the 70’s, when she came, Australia was a fair-minded place and a great place to be. Yet here she is... Here in Australia. Undermining our country and lying to our faces. Okay I need your help y'all. You might remember... my truck's transmission took a shit a while back, so I swapped it out with a top‑of‑the‑line 800 HP RevMax 68RFE. They’re supposed to be top of the line, built like a tank, made in the USA… all the things. Now I’m having what looks like a 4th–5th gear slip. Might be converter lock/unlock, might be something worse. I don't know for sure... I just want them to look at it before I blow up another one. I can't take it apart or I'll void their warranty. Problem is: they will not respond. My shop has sent four requests to RevMax and all we’ve gotten back are automated "we received your ticket" emails. I paid over $20,000 for this project. For that kind of money, I expect somebody to pick up the damn phone and help resolve an issue with one of their top‑shelf products. RevMax, you’ve got one more week to respond and get this sorted out. After that, I’m getting lawyers involved and I’ll have to tell every redneck in the State of Texas how you take care of customers. If anyone knows how to get ahold of them, sees them on Facebook/Instagram/etc., tell them to call Brian in Dripping Springs about this 68RFE before things have to get ugly.
