How effective are quick workouts? A massive UK study... found that 60 seconds of vigorous effort offered similar longevity benefits to 93 minutes of low‑intensity exercise, Yes, even a minute of intense movement reduced the risk of early death, heart attacks, and type 2 diabetes. That’s the kind of return on investment you don’t ignore. Action Plan: Pick one moment to move with intention today. It might be the stairs, a brisk uphill walk, a vigorous set of jumping Jacks, or a fast bike sprint. And then push hard for 60 seconds. Your heart will remember it. #HeartHealth #Fitnessshow more

You don’t need hours in the gym to transform... your health. Your cells don’t care about clock time — they respond to intense stimuli. A powerful new study shows that just 30 minutes of high-intensity activity per week can slash your risk of lifestyle diseases and premature death by 40–50%. That’s roughly 4 minutes a day! These short bursts drive peak oxygen uptake, trigger new brain cell formation, and stabilize blood sugar for up to 48 hours. If you have time to scroll, you have time to save your life. Your Action Step Today: Start with a simple 4-minute Tabata: 20 seconds all-out effort (jump squats, fast stairs, or brisk cycling), 10 seconds rest. Repeat 8 times. Push hard enough that you can’t sing. (check with your doctor first) Small, consistent steps create real power. Reference: Just Minutes of Intense Exercise Could Slash Disease Risk by 50%. You might think sitting all day saves energy, but... it backfires! The less you move, the more tired you become. A University of Georgia study found that sedentary people who started engaging in regular low-intensity exercise increased their energy levels by 20% and reduced fatigue by 65%. Exercise doesn’t drain your energy; it jumpstarts it. Squats = brainpower! 🏋️♂️🧠 Sitting for 20 minutes straight... is a drain on your executive function. But here's the good news: A 2023 study in the Journal of Applied Physiology found that: One minute of half-squats every 20 minutes rescues cerebral blood flow from a sedentary slump. This movement reoxygenates your prefrontal cortex, the portion of your brain involved in focus and decision-making. The Result of a 60-second "Interrupt": 🧠 Preserved blood flow to the brain. ⚡️ Sharpened executive function. 📈 Spiked concentration levels. 📉 Reduced mid-day mental fatigue. Action plan: The 20/1 Protocol: Set a timer for 20 minutes of focused work. When it pings, drop into 10-12 controlled half-squats. It’s the cheapest nootropic you'll find. "How long should I rest between sets?" Until you... can hit the same weight for the same reps with the same quality. That is the answer. That has always been the answer. The answer is not 60 seconds. The answer is not 90 seconds. The answer is not whatever the timer on your watch app says. If you are doing heavy compounds, that might be 3 to 5 minutes. Sometimes longer. The exercise does not care about your podcast schedule. It needs the central nervous system to be ready and the muscles to be loaded again. Rushing rest periods is one of the great unforced errors in training. You sacrifice load, sacrifice reps, sacrifice tension, and convince yourself you have done a hard session because you sweated. You have done a cardio session with weights. They are not the same. Sit down. Breathe. Let the heart settle. Then lift the next set heavy enough to justify the wait.show more

Have a new baby - or love someone who... does? You’ll want to keep a special eye on this space, because this week I’m going to talk about infancy’s most critical outcome and how to achieve it. That outcome: Secure attachment. The earliest months of life are a busy time developmentally. Over a period of just weeks, newborns establish important feeding habits, begin to smile and recognize faces, begin developing early forms of receptive and spoken language…the list goes on and on. Each of these developments is hugely consequential. But none holds a candle to attachment. What is it - and why is it important? Attachment involves the establishment of deep relational trust between parent and child. It’s more than just feeding. Or talking. Or playing. Securely attached babies develop a deep and abiding trust that you are (and will continue to be) available and responsive as a caregiver. That you can be relied on to meet their needs and ensure their safety. And that trust makes a world of difference for children. Secure attachment is the bedrock of our long-term mental health… a gift you can give your baby with lifelong benefits. How is it formed? Not surprisingly, through consistency. Be warm. Be responsive. And be there. Over. And over. And over. It’s a big job. (But rest assured it doesn’t require perfection. Parenting is hard enough without that pressure.) This week I’ll unpack four different types of attachment, how you can improve the quality of your own attachment, and how the development of secure relationships with a small circle of key caregivers (parents, grandparents, teachers) can set your child on a path that will support them even as adults. Enjoy this journey while you can. There will be... a day when you don’t have anyone to throw with or lift with or play pickup racquetball and then hit the sauna after with. There will be a day when you can’t immediately roll from your workout into breakfast/lunch/dinner with 8 of your best friends. There will be a day when disputes cannot be settled with a game of madden, 2K or the show. You will realize that showing up late for work pales in comparison to the fear you had about showing up late to the field or the weight room. You can say that you’ll still train hard, keep yourself in shape, hold YOURSELF accountable. It’s easy to say when you have a goal you’re working towards with a collective group. But when you don’t have that, damn it gets hard. So enjoy it. Take advantage of the time and the energy. For some guys it happens after 6 years of pro ball. For others it happens after 4 years of college. But it will leave you. Let me repeat that: IT WILL LEAVE YOU AND IT SUCKS WHEN IT DOES.show more

Dad’s home! 🏠 Because it’s one of the most... frequent questions I receive, here’s your periodic reminder that your baby doesn’t forget you when you go to work. There’s a developmental milestone known as object permanence and sometimes parents overthink it. In a nutshell it’s the understanding that things continue to exist even when they’re out of sight - and it typically develops somewhere between 6-9 months. Does that mean you cease to exist (to your baby) when you go to work or the grocery store? It can be kind of a scary thought to new parents. The answer, even before the development of object permanence, is no. But it may mean that (even for your toddler) you’re misattributing adult forms of memory to your little one. Infants and toddlers both live very much in the moment and are still developing the type of robust narrative memory we possess as adults. So while you’re gone, it’s not that you cease to exist. It’s more a case of “out of sight, out of mind.” Will they recognize you when you return? Will they be excited to see you? I’ll let this beautiful video from beingritty on IG show you the answer.show more

Scientists suspect that at the threshold of death, the... human brain may display activity patterns similar to memory replay. One published study reported intriguing findings from EEG recordings of an 87-year-old patient who died of a heart attack. The study observed elevated gamma brain waves, which are often associated with memory, dreaming, and conscious thought. This phenomenon is sometimes referred to as a “life recall experience,” in which a person subjectively feels as if they are replaying moments from their life immediately before or after the heart stops beating. This may occur because as the brain begins to lose its oxygen supply, it can release bursts of intense neural activity in parts of the cerebral cortex, potentially triggering a surge in memory-related processing. Although more research is needed, these findings offer a new perspective on how the brain may still show organized activity even after the heart has stopped. This could provide a biological basis for various reports of near-death experiences, which often include life review or vivid flashbacks.show more

Today, I was in one of Geneva's parks when... suddenly a plane flew overhead. Because of the trauma I experienced in Gaza, my first instinct was fear. For a moment, I thought it was going to drop a missile on us. Then, a few seconds later, I remembered that I am in Switzerland now, and that I am safe. War changes people in ways that are difficult to explain. Even when you leave, some parts of it remain inside you. My body may be here in Switzerland, but my memories are still in Gaza.show more

You can fool everyone else, but you cannot fool... God, because He knows what is in your heart. He knows what you think and all of your emotions. That’s why the purification of the soul, forgiveness, love, and faith must be undeniably real. In Orthodox Christianity, the judgment of the soul is portrayed with symbolism similar to that of ancient Egypt, with the weighing of the soul on a scale and the Leviathan consuming the soul if it is sinful. In ancient Egypt, the devourer of souls was Ammit, a creature that was part land animal and part water creature.show more

Microsoft is testing a new feature in Windows 11... called Low Latency Profile that gives a short boost to your CPU for 1 to 3 seconds when you open apps or menus. Early tests show Microsoft apps like Edge and Outlook open up to 40% faster, while the Start menu and other menus can load up to 70% faster, with CPU use jumping high for a few seconds then dropping right back down. Microsoft says this is normal because Apple does it in macOS and Linux, plus phones use the same type of quick CPU boosts for better speed. The feature is only in early Insider testing now, so it is not out for everyone yet.show more

Why are Kurdish leaders forced to stand before flags that do not represent them or the aspirations of their people? One way to get rid of an underground (or... wall void) Yellow Jacket or Wasp Nest: Rodent Glue Boards One of the problems in dealing with wasps, hornets and yellow jackets is treating the nest, even if you know where it is. It’s sometimes hard to get near them to treat without getting stung. One quick way to get rid of them is to set a glue board near the nest entry and get just ONE caught on it. I usually put a small raw piece of chicken. They’ll get stuck and start stinging the glue board along with releasing attack pheromones. The massive pheromone release will draw other members of the colony to the glue board. They in turn get stuck, start trying to sting the glue board and release more pheromones. Pretty quickly you’ll have drawn the entire colony out and they will all get stuck and meet their demise on the glue board. Side note: you will have to draw the first few to the glue board with a some type of food they like. Any type of grilled meat like burger, chicken or a piece of a hot dog works. A small piece of sliced lunch meat like ham also works. That’s why you always see them coming around your outdoor family reunion feast. They love that food. Keep in mind, if you disturb a nest of yellow jackets with a mower, or a child pushes on a small log with them in it, they will k*ll you. Anaphylactic shock, airway constriction, cardiovascular collapse. They are a public health threat and it’s totally okay to rid the world of these things. (Don’t mess with the bees though) If this method doesn’t work for you, the best product I’ve used to treat them from far away is Wasp Freeze by BASF. Also, the hanging yellow stinging insect traps are very effective as well.show more

Until you are able to accept the fact that... millions of foreigners, including some entire foreign governments, want Americans dead, you will never fully understand the steps President Trump and his team are taking now to save America. We CANNOT defeat evil if we refuse to accept that it exists. Evil exists. It’s at our doorstep. It’s already inside our home. It’s sitting at the foot of our bed. Evil PREFERS that you ignore it because that’s where it THRIVES. So take off your headphones. Remove your blinders and take a good long hard look at what is going on. Accept that things have been happening for a long time that will absolutely break your heart. I know this because my heart is broken too. Pray for wisdom and resilience because we are all going through this together whether you want to or not. Whether you live in a red state or blue. Whether you are rich or poor. Whether you have a million X followers or ten. Whether you are 18 or 75. It exists. It’s happening and none of us will be immune. Wherever we go we have no choice but to all go together. It won’t be easy. It won’t be fast. It won’t be convenient and it won’t be on your time schedule. But it’s unavoidable. And it will be worth it.show more

The Mother of all Aquamarines🙌💎✨ This might be one... of the best Aquamarine on Matrix pieces ever discovered. A massive single Aquamarine crystal towers over a bed of white prismatic Feldspar crystals. The main Aquamarine has a perfect stepped termination and a brisk, glacier blue tone. Even the Aquamarines radiating outward at the base are stunning with amazing clarity and aesthetic placement. This cluster weighs around 70 lb (32 kg) and was found at the famous Goand Mine in Skardu, Pakistan, a place known for its Aquamarines but rarely something of this caliber. It’s a miracle with its size and composition that it was found in such pristine condition with no damage or repair. im sorry but this is a very good example... why detailed, full of context leaks from “extras” and randos on set are fake or full of shit in 99% of cases… if an actor cant place a scene based on dialogue, I promise you an extra that saw 30 seconds of a scene (if) can’t draw context from it and tell you what is going on in the episode/season/with characters. you can get: outfits, maybe a line or two if they even manage to hear it and actually remember it, what they THINK is going on and if they’re composed enough to pay attention to a clapperboard and ADs, maybe an episode and a scene number (that is usually not the case tho)show more
