Mesmerizing 45-degree infinity module of the GA3D project in... action. The GA3D Project is a “side-project” driven by a passion for the RepRap 3D printer theme, aiming to extend the RepRap/DIY (Do-It-Yourself) spirit to other processes and fields. The basic machine consists of a frame with a fixed table, and a 3-axis Cartesian robotic arm with CoreXY kinematics crossed in the XY plane. A very simple tool changer is located at both ends of the robotic arm. This makes it a modular machine that can be easily converted into any machine. Video Credit: Alain D. A GUY BOUGHT 4 OF THESE FOR $30K EACH.... LAST MONTH THEY TILED 11 APARTMENTS AND HE POCKETED $86,000. Old way: one tiler, one flat, 3 days, split the money with the crew. His robots do a full apartment in a night, four at once, no wages at the end of it. He charges the same $2,000-a-unit every contractor charges. Difference is nobody's getting paid but him. $120K spent once, made back in under two months, and they're still laying tile while he sleeps. Tiling was supposed to be too precise for a machine. Turns out precise is the easy part. The hard part was finding someone willing to buy in before everyone else did. He did. Now he owns a crew that works for free.show more

China open-sourced a peanut-sized OCR that parses entire 100-page... PDFs in one shot.. It's called Unlimited-OCR. Only 3B params. Runs locally. Every other OCR tool chops your doc into pages and loses the thread. this one reads the whole thing in a single pass. → One-shot "long-horizon" parsing (32K context window) → Multilingual, out of the box → 93% on the standard parsing benchmark (+6 over baseline) → <0.11 error rate past 40 pages → Runs 100% locally on your own hardware → Works with Transformers, vLLM, SGLang, Docker, Ollama, llama.cpp Traditional cloud OCR (Textract, Google Vision, Azure Doc Intelligence) costs $1.50–$15 per 1,000 pages. This runs on your machine. For free. Forever. Baidu built it explicitly to push DeepSeek-OCR one step further. Already at 1.9M downloads on Hugging Face and most people have no idea it exists yet. 100% open source.show more

Hey Punks! Exactly 8 years ago (to the minute)... I claimed my first punk. In the years since we've seen a ton of incredible ways the community has shown up for the project and created public goods for the ecosystem and here's yet one more for y'all to nerd out on. Excited to share a fun little tool for y'all I've been working on with Generative Goods and embroidery wizard (DCA) Daniel Calderon Arenas. Put your punkID in the box and get professional quality DST (embroidery) files of your punk in a variety of sizes. I see people wearing their punks all the time and after spending the last few years deeply studying machine embroidery understand how annoying and complex it can be to get a good digitized version of your punk. A good digitization can cost $100 and that's for a single sized output. The punk embroidery generator will give you a range of sizes in stitch-perfect outputs for any of the 10k punks plus for the DIY folks a cross-stitch pattern for you to make your own by hand (s/o to Fanny Lakoubay and Rachel Suzanne Tien Wood who completed theirs of STONE's #98 recently 🙌). We've put some instructions on the site to help you through the process, plus some embroidery machine recommendations in case you want to go all out and make them look at feel professional. Note: GenGoods is not set up to do the embroidery for these (our system uses the same 15 colors across all our projects and Punks use way more colors across all the various outputs) but the downloads on the site give you exactly what you need to walk into any embroidery shop and have them make your punk for you. We suggest thread colors in the tool but that's just to get you started. A good embroidery shop will have tons to pick from so just pick the colors that best match your punk. Anyways we thought it would be a fun way to celebrate the punks 8th anniversary with this fun little tool. Can't wait to see what y'all make with this. Enjoy! 🍻show more

THIS 20-YEAR-OLD GIRL BROKE DOWN 5 COMPANIES IN 3D... PRINTING AND FOUND WHERE THE MONEY ACTUALLY IS 3D printing looks like the business of the future, with hundreds of millions in investment swirling around it. But look closely at the ones who actually made money, and the picture turns out unexpected Every company made millions, but none of them did it on the printing itself. The reason is simple: a printer today is ordered from a catalog, and files copy for free, so anyone can replicate the printing Since the machine is easy to copy, the money shifts to what can't be. Each company has its own niche: > ICON: printing is 1 of 7 phases, the rest is finishing and engineering > Firestorm: prints where a supply chain physically can't reach > Revo: years of work on the salmon recipe, not the extruder itself > Replasia: the implant is in trials, but the measurements already sell > Alquist: a single corporate client ordered 200 buildings It works like this: first you find your niche, whether it's a client with repeat orders, a rare material or a place with no competition. And only then do you buy the printer Do it the other way and buy the machine first, and you're left competing on price with a factory and losing. The printer is just a tool, the money comes from everything built around itshow more

Made with Seedance on Runway. Prompt: 👇 CAMERA: Handheld... vintage consumer camcorder footage. First-person footage recorded entirely by RILEY as she documents an afternoon working on an old sports car inside a small independent garage. The camera remains physically handheld throughout. Natural hand tremors, crooked framing, occasional autofocus hunting, abrupt zooms, accidental lens obstruction, shaky low-angle shots and quick selfie transitions. She frequently places the camera momentarily on nearby surfaces before picking it back up, creating imperfect improvised compositions. The physical camera is never visible. LOOK: Authentic late-1990s DV home-video aesthetic. Soft slightly degraded image, mild tape noise, subtle chromatic imperfections, occasional exposure shifts, muted highlights, realistic skin tones and warm fluorescent garage lighting. Slightly nostalgic color reproduction without looking artificially stylized. STYLE: Relaxed DIY car-project vlog with a spontaneous, slightly chaotic atmosphere. Riley talks directly to the camera, jokes about mistakes and gets increasingly excited as the repair progresses. The footage feels completely unscripted and personally recorded. CHARACTER: RILEY — a charismatic woman in her late 20s with short messy auburn hair, freckles, expressive eyes and a practical appearance. She wears faded blue mechanic overalls over a plain white T-shirt, worn sneakers and work gloves. A few strands of hair fall across her face while working. Her clothes become slightly dusty and greasy during the repair. SETTING: A cramped independent automotive workshop on a sunny afternoon. Old tool cabinets, hanging fluorescent lights, shelves of spare parts, hydraulic equipment, scattered tools and an iconic vintage sports car occupying the center of the garage. Sunlight enters through a partially open garage door, creating bright patches on the concrete floor. STORYBOARD: (~2s, low-angle handheld shot) The camera enters the garage while RILEY's footsteps approach the old sports car. RILEY (off-camera): “Today we're finally getting this thing running.” (~2s, quick selfie) She crouches beside the car and grins at the lens. RILEY: “Hopefully.” (~2s, fast whip pan) The camera swings across the engine bay, tool bench and piles of spare parts before settling on the open hood. (~2s, close POV) Her gloved hands work on a stubborn component. The camera moves too close and briefly loses focus. RILEY (off-camera): “Come on…” (~2s, sudden handheld reaction shot) The component finally comes loose. RILEY pulls her hand back triumphantly. RILEY: “YES!” (~2s, camera placed on a toolbox) A static-but-imperfect wide shot captures RILEY leaning into the engine bay while she works. She occasionally glances toward the camera. (~2s, low handheld tracking shot) She climbs into the driver's seat. The camera follows awkwardly through the open door. (~2s, dashboard-level POV) The engine suddenly starts. RILEY freezes for a second, then laughs in disbelief. RILEY: “No way. No WAY!” (~2s, excited selfie) She jumps out of the car holding the camera, grinning with dirty hands and grease on her cheek. RILEY: “Okay, I definitely wasn't expecting that.” The camera shakes as she laughs and reaches toward the lens, ending the recording.show more

"Heavy lifting is dangerous at your age" is the... most harmful sentence in the field, and a doctor, a physio or a well-meaning relative hands it out every day. Follow it and watch what it does. From your forties you lose muscle every year unless you fight for it. That decline is the whole game: the difference between carrying your own shopping at 80 and waiting for someone to carry it for you. Muscle you don't load shrinks. Bone no longer pulled on turns brittle. Balance you never challenge drains away. Two years of "taking it easy" and you have built the exact frail body everyone feared. The advice didn't prevent the fall. It built the person who couldn't survive one. And here is the lie inside it. Supervised resistance training has one of the lowest injury rates of anything an older adult does. Lower than gardening. Lower than a wet pavement. Lower than the stairs you climb without thinking. So instead they steer you to pilates, aqua aerobics, a gentle tai chi class. Pleasant, sociable, and none of it loads a muscle hard enough to stop it wasting. You feel active while the decline rolls on regardless. Strength is not vanity at this age. It is the garden you kneel in, the stairs you keep, the grandchild you lift. Independence with the years added on. Frightened of a barbell? Fine. You don't need one. Machines are built for exactly this. Fixed path, nothing to wobble sideways. You sit, you're supported, you push. When a set gets hard you stop, and the machine holds the weight, not your spine. A leg press loads your legs as heavy as you'll ever need with almost no way to hurt yourself. Same with a chest press, a row, a pulldown. The decline is coming for everyone. You train against it or you hand years of your life away. The safest tool for the job sits unused in every gym, while the people who need it most get a rubber band and a spot in the church hall. Careful is what's killing them.show more

I just sold my startup Talknotes for $200,000 on... acquire.com 💸🤯🤩💰🥳🎉 I launched it last August when I was looking for an idea I could grow with paid ads, and made a MVP in one week. I took it from $0 to $7500 MRR in just 11 months. 👉 Here is how I grew it from zero: 💡 Idea: I got the idea when I tried to write a tweet using Google Doc's transcription tool, but it was terrible. And I was pretty sure I wasn't the one too lazy to type. So I made my own solution, and Talknotes was created. The audience is pretty broad so it was a perfect fit for Meta ads However… ✅ Validation: My rule is to only reinvest what the project generates, so, no ads until I make enough cashflow ❌ Listing on startup directories + a few Twitter sales generated $700 after 10 days. Yes, it's not much, but more than enough to show there is interest in the product and tell me to keep working on it 🤩 I started adding the features users requested, but the launch effect started to wear off and daily revenues quickly went to $0 after a few weeks 🫥 I got depressed and almost gave up on the app... 😔 But luckily, my friends and Dan Kulkov pushed me to continue And I'm glad they did because In October, I launched on Product Hunt 😸 and it blew up 🤯 It got Product of the Day and reached $1500 MRR thanks to the media coverage 🚀🚀 Until then, everything was done using vanilla JS/CSS/HTML + Node for back end. It's simple and easy, but I saw the limitations, so I remade the app using Nuxt to make it easier in the future 🏗️ (thanks to @blackevilgoblin and Piotr Jura for the content/courses! Tim Bennetto as well for the basics!) After that, I took a break and then launched ads on Facebook. The strategy is simple: Catch people's attention, and show them how the app can help them improve their life. No need to over-complicate 🙅‍♂️ Making good creatives is 80% of the job when doing ads on Facebook, most of the technical stuff is done by AI now. Thanks to the boost in traffic, I implemented a feedback loop: 1) Get new users 👥 2) Learn to know them with the onboarding form 💬 3) Make more ads based on the data you get from onboarding 📝 And it completely blew up. MRR doubled in ~2 months However... In May, I had a bad burnout 🥵😩 Multiple bugs slipped into the app, and I had to spend 2 days fixing everything in an emergency while revenues plummeted. This completely fucked me up mentally and had a hard time working on the app after that ( 💀💀 So I decided to list it on acquire.com and made a Twitter post ( I listed it for $200,000, a pretty low price considering the revenues and fast growth. I could have gotten $300,000 if I accepted payment over time, but $200,000 today is better than $300,000 tomorrow for me. 🚨 The process went smoothly until we tried to use Escrow, which almost fucked up the whole deal. (details: I got extremely lucky because the buyer really wanted to buy the app, but this could have ended the deal. We had to wait over a week to get the money back from them, even tho they said they already refunded it. But luckily, after threatening them, they sent it back the next day 🙃 The buyer finally got the money back, I transferred every asset to him, and he sent me the wire. With the profit made from the app + the sale, and other projects, I'm 30% away from being a millionaire 🤯 With this amount, I can pretty much retire in Asia if I want to. But that's just the beginning, I’m going to launch new projects soon! 🚀 But before that, I need to take a real vacation and detox. My brain is completely fucked up by those last 2 months. I gained weight, and got brain rot from scrolling all day waiting for the acquisition to move forward 💀💀 Surprisingly, doing absolutely nothing is 10x more exhausting than working 15h per day 🥱 Now, all this might sound like an overnight success. It is not ‼️ This is the result of 7 years of failure and working like a madman. I launched over 40 projects in those 7 years, and most of them failed. But a few took off, and that’s all I needed All those weeks working 15h/day without weekends and vacation feels soul-sucking when you don’t see the end, but this is what took me there You only need to win once to snowball everything. Work hard, focus, fail a lot and keep shipping fast. 🚀🚀 Thanks to you for reading until here, and thanks to everyone who supported me 🤞show more

I think I've stumbled onto the future of building... startups. It wasn't supposed to happen this way. It's 2 AM. I'm editing a podcast, questioning every life decision that led me here. I've already burned through hundreds of thousands on this thing since 2021. Zero monetization. Just burning cash. My business partner's probably thinking I've lost it. We're juggling 6 businesses, and here I am, playing wannabe Joe Rogan. Then it hit me. Not during the podcast. In the darn comments section. I start sorting comments by "contains question" using this AI creator tool called VidIQ. "How do you validate ideas?" "What tools do you use?" "Can you dive deeper on XYZ topic?" These questions keep popping up. Over and over. That's when the lightbulb went off. What if I could turn this into a lead magnet machine? Find questions. Answer them with free stuff. Rinse. Repeat. I team up with Design Scientist to crank out 2 lead magnets a month. (Tried doing it myself first. But it was hard lol) We start pumping out things like "6 Tools I Use to Find Startup Ideas." Suddenly, I'm drowning in subscribers. 10,000 to 20,000 a month. On autopilot. Now, you're probably thinking, "Cool story, bro. But how's this a big idea?" Clarity of what to build is probably one of the most valuable ways to build products people want. You have to understand a niche's problem better than they even know them. Problem: what's the roadblock keeping founders stuck? Segment: group these founders by their specific obstacles. Product: build the bridge that gets them over their hurdle. I use ConvertKit like a scalpel, dissecting these segments. Not by age or location. By the problems they're desperate to solve. Suddenly, I'm staring at a treasure map of founder pain points. And that's when you can build startups to solve their problems. Instead of being a lead factory, you become a startup factory. You use tools like v0/replit/cursor to prototype like a madman. And it makes your life less stressful as a founder. Because you know people are lined up to buy the products. I'm so convinced this is the future of startup building, I've bet $1M+ of my own cash on it. Building startups to solve people's problems. And cool part is this blueprint can be replicated in any niche. The best SaaS ideas aren't in some Silicon Valley incubator. They're hiding in your "free" content. Think of it like this (Isenberg's formula?): (Engaged Audience) x (Targeted Lead Magnets) x (Problem-Centric Segmentation) = Product-Market Fit on Demand Here's the step-by-step: 1. Use AI/software to categorize every single audience interaction by problem type. Build a heat map of pain points. 2. Create ultra-specific lead magnets for each major problem cluster. Think "5-Step Framework for Validating SaaS Ideas" not "Generic Startup Guide". I also use free communities as lead magnets. 3. Forget demographics. Segment by the problem they're trying to solve. Use ConvertKit to build dynamic segments that would make Zuck jealous. 4. Use AI to build rapid prototypes for top problem clusters. Test with your segmented lists for instant feedback. Your next cash-flowing business is probably stuck in a comment somewhere, just waiting for you to notice it. I accidentally built a startup factory at 2am. Happy I did. Sharing in case this is useful to anyone out there. The future of startups: 1. Be a content factory 2. Be a lead factory 3. Be a startup factoryshow more
