NC State Linebacker Drill!🚨🚨🚨 This drill teaches the linebackers... to not cross over when coming down at an angle. You have no power when your legs are crossed over. You should only cross over when the ball carrier is out of your range. Keeping a good base and staying squared is very important especially when you are taking on a big offensive lineman. It also teaches them to not double tap their feet when they are changing direction. Dig your outside foot on the ground and get out! The Hollingsworths Emma Hollingsworth Lyla Hollingsworth came down from... Massachusetts today. A big part of our lesson was learning front-side compression how the front leg and hip stabilize so the body can rotate up against it into contact. Too many hitters think forward momentum is “bad,” but it’s not. Moving forward is necessary, the key is keeping the body connected as it moves. We worked on using the rear lat and back side to pull back and stay connected to the front side. This keeps the body together instead of pushing forward. Through resistance band and towel drills, they learned the feel of: •Holding strong direction through the front side, •Allowing the pelvis to pull the rear leg through, •Creating whip of the barrel against the front side and through extension.show more

Tigers Prospect Jackson Jobe averages 97mph ⛽️ Here are... the 3 keys to his delivery: 1. The drift and drop As he goes into his leg lift, notice how straight his back leg is. This sets him up to create a lot of energy and force as he goes into the drop (load). Along with keep the back leg straight into leg lift, he also gains ground towards home. This allow him to initiate linear momentum while also setting himself up for the load. 2. Hip to shoulder separation During the stride phase he does a great job of rotating the pelvis into foot plant while staying closed with the upper body. His ability to stay level with the shoulders and stacked puts him in a good position to rotate instead of push. 3. Rotational velocity of the chest Staying closed with the torso into foot plant plays a large role in rotational velocity of the chest. Think of separation like pulling a rubber band back. That pull back is creating tension and a stretch that will accelerate once it’s let go. Jackson does an exceptional job of this, allowing him to rotate the upper body extremely well. Here’s a great drill to help you attack 1 man, get skinny and throw off. #3 Double splits Splitting doubles can be super difficult. The double splits drill helps simulate the force you’ll need to apply into your primary blocker to ultimately split the double team. #4 Punch recover When aligned in an even technique (0, 2, 4) the key is to survive the collision by staying square, absorbing force and transitioning to the crease.
