A 65-year-old Chicago man is facing felony charges after... Sheriff’s Police identified him as the person responsible for stealing more than $8,000 in high-end athleticwear. At approximately 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 18, Lululemon loss prevention notified Sheriff’s Police Organized Retail Crime investigators that a man took dozens of items from their store in 900 block of West Randolph Street in Chicago and fled without paying for them. Unbeknownst to the man, one of the items had a GPS tracker. The item appeared to be tracking to a Green Line train. An investigator boarded the train ahead of where it was tracking and ultimately found the man sitting on the train with a large bag with him. The man identified as Frederick Campbell, was taken into custody, and taken off the train. Investigators recovered $4,620 in merchandise from the bag. Upon further investigation, investigators identified Campbell as the person responsible for a previous theft at the same store, where more than $3,800 in merchandise was taken. Later that day, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office charged him with two counts of felony retail theft. He was ordered released from custody on Aug. 19 following his first appearance hearing at the George N. Leighton Criminal Courthouse.
