🎉 5k PR: 16:57! Massive 48 second PR from... 2 months ago. It’s still sinking in that I hit this goal, especially in humid conditions. It took everything I had, including a 77 second kick for the last 400m to bring it under 17. I put in the work, prayed, and we got it done ✝️show more

During an exclusive Zoom call with Universal Music Indonesia,... D4vd mentioned the process of working on Always Love with #Hyunjin. D4vd: I had honor of going to their (Skz) show at Sofi Stadium and i got to meet him (Hyunjin) there and i was like "yo we have to make a song". He was like "let's make the song". So we approach the studio, recorded it, and it was literally done in like an hour. He's so good!show more

hi all, excited to join! i'm building an expressive... mini "shoggoth" robot which will eventually be hooked up to gpt4o realtime voice. i'm currently working on the low-level policies, which are trained in a mujoco simulation with RL. to delay working on raw-pixels for now, i trained a pose-estimation model using deeplabcut and triangulate the position in 3d space using the stereo cameras. eventually, i'll use gpt4o's tool calling capabilities to activate several of these policies (closed and open loop) based on the dialog flow! captions: manual actuation of the tentacle / 3d pose estimation / target designshow more

The #1 ranked amateur golfer in the world. Got... the chance to film a video with Jackson Koivun and he was unreal. His stats have him ranked higher than Tiger in a lot of areas. He’s finished top 10 in multiple PGA Tour events as well. The real question is will he go back to college or turn pro? This was a dirty low cut wedge. Can’t wait for y’all to see this one Mondayshow more

In response to kache remarkable port of Box3D to... GPU, here's my personal performance test for low level optimizations (still plenty left to do). Currently for 170k deterministic GPU chicken simulation(they spawn another chicken on touch and try to keep distance form each other) the avg step takes ~3.9 ms (250 fps without rendering) (profiling shot attached). This is still to slow. We need to cut it to 2 ms to be able to run it at consumer grade hardwareshow more

So remember that time machine I told you about?... I managed to sneek out another video from my visit to the future.. this time I captured video of a 3d artist creating assets for a short commercial. They sculpted the bird in the video with nothing but two controllers which they used to manipulate generative matter in 3d. The AI model changed in realtime and adopted their style of work, both based on the work they did on the scene, and on reference images they gave the system. Seeing the 3d model transform in realtime as they were working on it was incredible. When it started moving and reacted to their instructions, I knew it was time to return to the present :D #art #aishow more

😓 Air India 🇮🇳 Flight AI171 with fully loaded... Boeing 787-7 Dreamliner fatal accident: I‘m an airline pilot with >15‘000h of experience and a physics institute: My brief PRELIMINARY analysis of the visible facts from the video of the takeoff: * The flaps are only slightly extended, presumably to position 1 instead of 5. * The landing gear is still extended, which should have been retracted at this altitude and causes additional drag. * The aircraft is at a high angle of attack, which confirms the insufficient flap setting. * From the video and witness accounts, only low engine noise is audible. * Neither smoke nor fire is visible. * An engine failure is less likely. The most probable cause is presumably a human factor, an incorrectly chosen, insufficient flap setting for takeoff, and consequently an inadequately selected thrust. In this context, the correlated speeds were too low because they were calculated for a larger flap setting or a lighter aircraft. As a result, the aircraft took off with insufficient speed and intentionally but falsely derated thrust, was therefore on the unstable side, and rapidly lost more speed and altitude due to the additional failure to retract the landing gear in a timely manner, leading to a subsequent stall at low altitude and crash. For the experts: the aircraft got onto the wrong side of the speed vs drag curve and maneuvered itself into a corner from where there is no escape. Another possible cause could also have been an incorrect input of a wrong takeoff weight into the Flight Management System, resulting in too low thrust and too low speeds. The pilots got startled after takeoff, couldn’t wrap their head around what went wrong and incorrectly prioritized making an emergency call instead of flying the aircraft first, manually increasing thrust immediately to maximum, and retracting the landing gear. In summary of this very early and preliminary assessment (your confidence level should be as low as mine): The most probable cause is human error 😓 - as most of the time these days. Not because the pilots got worse (although that effect can be observed as well with prioritization of diversity over competence) - but because technology got so much better.show more

Robora Sim: A PyBullet-Powered Environment for Learning Robotic Physical... Intelligence We are currently building our Robora simulation environment setup for our sim based learning, leveraging PyBullet, an industry-standard physics engine widely used in AI-driven robotics research and development. The environment is optimized with GPU-accelerated learning algorithms, enabling high-speed imitation learning and reinforcement learning within a safe and controlled virtual setup before shipping out to real world. This simulation platform allows our models to learn, adapt, and generalize across different robot morphologies, terrain types and task objectives - all before deployment to the real world. At it's core, the system combines a VLA-powered high-level planner with low-level motion control algorithms, working cohesively to produce emergent, physically intelligent behaviors. This synergy between simulation, learning, and real-world transfer marks a major step forward in our pursuit of adaptive and intelligent robotic systems. Through advanced domain randomization and synthetic data generation, the Robora Simulation Environment ensures that policies trained in simulation transfer effectively to real-world robots, minimizing the sim-to-real gap. Moreover, users will be able to test and integrate their own hardware kits within selected simulation environments in the Robora Dapp, ensuring seamless compatibility and safer real-world implementation.show more

🥺🇺🇦 Angelina Jolie posted a post on her Instagram... dedicated to her trip to Kherson and Mykolaiv "This week I visited Mykolaiv and Kherson in Ukraine to meet with families living on the front lines. The threat of drones was constant and oppressive. There was a low hum in the sky - it is called "human safaris" here, because drones are constantly used to track, harass and terrorize civilians. There was a moment when we had to stop and wait for the drone to fly overhead. I was in protective gear, and for me it only lasted a few days. And these families live with this every day." So last night at the movies, I got a... notification that my right tire pressure was low, almost flat. I feared that someone had slashed it, but after the movie was done, went outside to check. We found a nail in the tire immediately and I was so happy that I used my referral credits just last week to purchase a tire air compressor in the Tesla shop. I had credits that were going to expire and I figured while I might as well get some safety related things to put in my car since I’m having a baby soon and immediately had a use for it!! This thing works amazingly. I just thought that the timing was so serendipitous and wanted to share. Someone on X recommended I get one for my trunk and so thank you, great product!show more

We ripped those suckers off and plugged it in Wasn’t able to charge at a high voltage charger but it’s possible a low voltage one could work, but then what’s the point? I'm jumping on the opportunity of our current trip... to Chongqing to do a health test: I do it once a year in China, always with the same company (iKang, which has test centers all over China) and it is the most comprehensive health test you can possibly imagine. As you can see in the videos the place is divided into small rooms, and in each room there's a doctor performing a specific test (blood test room, IRM room, x-ray room, ECG room, etc.). I'll do about 25 rooms this morning, in the space of approximately 2 hours, resulting in me being checked for hundreds of possible health issues (including, for instance, all testable cancers). The market price for this is RMB 8k (about $1200) but like every year I managed to get it at a heavy discount for RMB 2k or about $300 (most people get a discount, I don't think anyone pays the full price). Which considering a visit to a specialist doctor in China typically costs about RMB20, is actually very expensive and shows just how comprehensive this test is. Lastly, public service announcement: everyone should get health tests yearly if they can, especially for high probability issues (like prostate cancer for men), early detection often makes all the difference.show more

‼️🇺🇸: US Rep Amodei is not CONCLUSIVELY present in... the US House Committee hearing on 9/9/25 until 3rd Roll call. "But you can see someone in his chair at the beginning of the meeting just after 11am ET" NO—you can not positively ID that person. It's too blurry and he doesn't speak or vote. Someone is sitting in Mr. Amodei's seat at 2:27:00 and DOES NOT ANSWER ROLL CALL. Committee members, especially Chairs, NEVER ignore roll call when they're present in the room. Ever. 👇🏻 There was obviously different people sitting in his chair throughout part of the day. The footage is too low-res to ID for sure. Which is why the roll call voting record is the only conclusive evidence. Hope this helps 🫡show more

The War was cold, but accidents happened... May 25... 1968: a Soviet Air Force Tu-16 "Badger" [Reg. Unknown] crashes 150 mi West of Norway, all 6 aboard die. Jet made a low pass near US Navy aircraft carrier USS Essex (CV-9), flying just 50 ft above the sea, when the wingtip hit a wave that sent the bomber into a cartwheel. The accident was captured in camera by a US film crew that was aboard the ship. More info below ⬇️ 🧵 ‘I was there and watched the entire thing while working on the flight deck. I was a helicopter mechanic in HS-9 at the time. When it overflew the flight deck you could feel the heat and smell at jet exhaust. After the flight deck overfly (starboard to port) he continued to fly away from the ship at low level. He gained a little altitude and started to make a left turn, leveled back out, lost altitude and just when it looked like he was going to make a controlled ditching his left wing dipped and hit the water and then he cartwheeled in a ball of flame.. Our helicopters were in the air already and made a beeline for the crash, hovered in the smoke but no one survived.’ Extra info with statements by an eyewitness are from an article from "The Aviation Geek Club" (will add link to their full article latershow more
