This is exactly why I keep saying, Lets focus... on the basics before chasing mega projects because of our population 😢🥺💔 Just look at the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge. A multi-billion-naira piece of infrastructure built under Fashola, properly maintained under Ambode, and now showing signs of neglect, with grass literally growing around parts of the bridge. How did we get here? I appreciate the infrastructure this administration is trying to build, but what is the point of new projects when the infrastructure we already have is deteriorating? Lagos needs a serious maintenance culture. Fix the roads, clean the city, enforce environmental standards, landscape public spaces and maintain existing infrastructure before embarking on endless ribbon-cutting projects. Road infrastructure and environmental aesthetics can transform Lagos way more in this digital age. They improve quality of life, attract global tourism, unlock investment and make skilled Nigerians and foreigners want to stay, invest and bring their families here. Investors don't just need mega projects; they need a city that is clean, functional, safe and pleasant to live in. And I understand that infrastructure is expensive, especially with today's exchange rate. That is why Govt should also consider bringing back tolls on suitable roads and using the revenue specifically for maintenance. Lagos has the population, talent, investment, connectivity and economic potential. What it needs is disciplined management. Success attracts both people who want to build and those who want to exploit or destroy; government must protect the city while supporting those contributing positively to it. So, to the current governor: Sir please, look around Lagos before you leave office. You have done things worth appreciating, but the environmental and maintenance decline needs urgent attention. Leave the next administration a city that is properly maintained, not one where infrastructure built by previous governments is allowed to deteriorate. And to whoever becomes governor in 2027: please sir make maintenance, roads, environmental aesthetics, law and order your priority before chasing more mega projects. Give Lagos a clean, beautiful and functional environment, and you will have a legacy people can actually see and feel. Lagos has not reached its prime. We can build on what we already have and make it even better than the Lagos of Fashola and Ambode. This is Ozumba Mbadiwe way, a very strategic corridor... of the state. See the beautiful buildings on the left and right. Just imagine if Julius Berger or even CECC were given the contract to revamp this road from bonny camp down to phase 1. Honestly, if you enter this district, you would think you are in heaven. Below is a picture of how this same place looked under Gov Fashola, and I will also post how it looked under Gov Ambode in the comments. Sometimes it's good to look at where you are coming from to know where you are going. Your past should not look better than your present. Lagos is a great city, but when people see lapses like these, that's why some talk about it with disdain. Every city in the world needs maintenance. If you don't maintain it, it won't look good to the eye. Lagos is a highly visited city for many reasons, and the state of its strategic infrastructure or likely visited parts matters a lot. In fact, it is one of the government's biggest selling points. I know a train is coming here, but trust me, that does not remove the urgent need to repair this road properly with a competent contractor, from Lekki Phase 1 all the way to Bonny Camp. E1 is coming in a few months, and we need to prepare and ensure everywhere looks its best. The high-rises are already there. The city just needs proper roads and greenery to make it truly breathtaking. Road infrastructure should never, ever be downplayed. It can give even a village a premium look, let alone such a strategic corridor. Look at another semi-coastal city like Kolkata. It has similar terrain to Lagos, yet see how they maintain their city. You see the same elements, bridges, metro systems, skyscrapers. That's what maintenance does to a city. It makes it look attractive, organised, and inviting. But when everywhere is left to become tattered, people will call it overrated. Everything is packaging, especially for a city that is constantly in the public eye. I know the governor has a lot on his plate, but this is urgent, especially with E1 only a few months away. The way the environment looks should be a top priority for the government, not only for residents but also because it helps sell the city positively to visitors, investors, and the rest of the world. The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment... to environmental enforcement with the arrest of Mr. Ogunbadejo Olawale, a resident of No 25, Ajiboye Street, Alapere, Ketu, for illegal waste dumping. The arrest was effected by a joint enforcement operation carried out by the operatives of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI), following credible surveillance and tip-offs from members of the community. The offender was caught red-handed disposing refuse indiscriminately in public, thereby undermining the government’s efforts toward achieving a cleaner and more hygienic Lagos. His arrest is a clear demonstration of the state’s resolve to enforce environmental laws and restore sanity to public spaces. The suspect will immediately be prosecuted in accordance with the relevant law of the State. Dear Lagosians, your support and vigilance are the backbone of our success so far. They need to power wash some of these badly... hit streets, especially in the low-brow areas, to bring back their original beauty and design. At the same time, all local governments should be mandated to paint their curbs in their jurisdiction. That should be the minimum standard for every local government: well-marked roads, painted curbs, trimmed grass, and properly maintained public spaces. The whispers are gone. Climate change is here, and... the water is at our doors. From Mumbai to Miami, from Dubai to Dublin, from Argentina to Australia, Toronto to Texas, cities around the world are facing a new reality – a reality of ferocious flash floods and towering tsunamis. The science is clear. Our planet is warming, causing erratic weather patterns and rising sea levels. This translates to heavier rainfall, more powerful storms, and a growing threat to coastal communities. We've seen it recently, haven't we?! The heart-wrenching images of entire neighborhoods underwater, the desperate struggle for survival against the unforgiving current. Closer to home, here in Lagos, we stand at a crossroad. We are a vibrant city, a center of commerce and culture. But we are also vulnerable. The rising sea level threatens our very foundation. Now is the time to act. We need robust flood defenses, and a collective commitment to sustainable environmental practices. We must protect our infrastructure, our homes, and most importantly, our people. Global warming is real. Ensure you keep your environment clean at all times and do not engage in any activity that can hinder the free flow of water. #CleanerLagos #HealthierLagos #AGreaterLagosRising The Lagos State Govt Babajide Sanwo-Olushow more

On flooding, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour’s criticism must be viewed against... the realities of Lagos’ coastal geography, tidal locks and the growing impact of climate change. As an architect, he should appreciate that even the most resilient drainage infrastructure cannot entirely eliminate flash flooding in a coastal megacity. The Lagos State Government has invested in drainage infrastructure, pump stations, year-round maintenance, flood abatement operations, ban on styrofoam and single-use plastics, wetland preservation and the removal of structures on floodplains. Many of which Gbadebo criticized and attacked the government for. These interventions have reportedly reduced flooding incidents by 75–80% statewide. It is therefore misleading to suggest that flooding is being ignored or that no meaningful progress has been made. While challenges remain, the evidence of sustained interventions must form part of the conversation. Flooding is a global coastal challenge, not one peculiar to Lagos. Amsterdam, Thailand, Nepal, Afghanistan (despite having a dry land), even the almighty USA. The relevant question is not whether every flood can be prevented, but how effectively a city prepares, mitigates risks and protects it’s residents. Criticism should be informed by geography, climate realities and the progress already recorded, not political rhetoric. #KOH2027 Obafemi Hamzatshow more

San Francisco’s economy is recovering, and people want to... be here again. As we continue to build that momentum, we need to make sure that San Franciscans feel the benefits and can continue to raise their kids in this incredible city. We need to build housing, we need to create jobs, and we need to keep bringing people back downtown, our front door to the world and the economic engine for our city. That’s why today I am proud to announce the BUILD Act with Supervisor Bilal Mahmood—a legislative package that will unlock stalled housing projects and create thousands of good union jobs. The BUILD Act will reform the transfer tax to incentivize investment in these housing projects and buildings downtown—stimulating new jobs for electricians, plumbers, and laborers. And we will put forward a ballot measure in November to ensure that transfer tax is paid on properties in foreclosure so we can offset revenue impacts. Our politicians used to take our workers and our families for granted. But those politicians are gone, and those days are over. We are now creating the conditions for our city’s success. By passing the BUILD Act, we will take the next step, creating the jobs and building the housing that San Franciscans deserve.show more

MORE THAN HALF OF ANAMBRA PEOPLE LIVE OUTSIDE THE... STATE - SOLUDO. MY CANDID EXPERIENCE I noticed this in my 3 days visit to the State. I waited at the Chinua Achebe Airport for more than 2 hours waiting for my colleagues and I can hardly count 20 others (Staff included) along with me in the 800 capacity events hall sized airport. Deeper into Awka, the capital, my eyes searched for industry. I found supermarkets, roadside kiosks, and a few motels whose perception has been generously upgraded to "hotels." Of industry of substantial reckoning, I saw none. That was a revelation. We have long been told of the enterprising spirit of our Igbo brothers and sisters, and I do not doubt it. So I am left with two conclusions; Either our people are not as enterprising as the legend says, or they are enterprising indeed, but generations of incompetent leaders have starved that genius at home, so it only blossoms kilometers away from Ndigbo land, most especially in Lagos. I believe the second. And I say it without mockery. This is no ridicule of any man or any race; I have risen above such petty concerns. It is a call to the young, to our conscience and our consciousness: hold your leaders at home to account, as firmly as you hold the leaders of the States you run to for survival. Imagine eighteen States delivering even 40% of the development Lagos has. Few would need to relocate to the Centre of Excellence at all, and Lagos, Ogun, and the Southwest in general and their politics can go to 'hell'. But Lagos is what it is today because its people hold their leaders accountable. They do not blame others for the inadequacies of their own. Elsewhere, leaders are pampered, and pampering breeds complacent ineptitude. Picture a former governor and Presidential 'unhopeful' boasting that civility and order are his greatest achievements, while his people flee in their thousands, in night buses amd daily too, to States whose leaders chose to invest in infrastructure and fiscal competence, and still enforced order and civility while delivering both. We can do better.show more

This is something all Indians must understand leaving behind... politics and ideologies: The massive boom in India's infrastructure in the last 10 years is undeniable. Be it highways, border roads, airports, trains, metros, or ports - there's a 100-300% increase compared to before. No joke. I have not seen this level of development and building for decades before. Projects are not just announced but are actually being completed and inaugurated. When you have this much infrastructure being built by thousands of contractors and companies, there will always be some issues come up. From bad quality here and there to delays in some. It happens in every country. Even in the most developed and advanced ones like the very large US or very small Singapore. They too have leaking metro stations, roads that cave in, bridges that break, and trains that breakdown. But only for India, there's a coordinated communist campaign being run online to blackpill Indians by lifting every issue around the large country, amplifying it as the worst that only happens in India, to destroy the credibility of India's development and government. If you suddenly start building 100,000 kms of highways, using thousands of contractors and hundreds of companies, yes there will be a few kms of bad patch somewhere or a bad contractor doing a shoddy job. Yet, that is being taken and amplified online to disillusion Indians about their own democracy, destroy their confidence, and derail India's development using their disillusionment. They are made to believe and say "Everything is bad, everything is corrupt." This is being done in a coordinated way targeting India's youth primarily. Because the adversaries know India's youth have no past experience to judge. And they are the ones who will take India to the future. They can be easily programmed showing only the glitzy images of Shangai & Shenzen to make them feel sad about their cities. They know by disillusioning them, and destroying their confidence, India's development can be arrested for a long time. If you as an older adult understand this and the significance of the current infrastructure boom for the future, it is your responsibility to inform at least a few of the people you know offline about what's going on. It's OK you get challenged, ridiculed, or even abused. Because we know the mental programming and blackpilling is that much these days. Yet, it is important to try make them understand for India's sake.show more

Russia has built more than 2,500 km of roads... and railroads, a new railway network, and revamped ports in the occupied territories of Ukraine, according to a Reuters investigation. Large-scale works, confirmed by satellite imagery and news agency data, indicate that this is not temporary wartime logistics, but a systematic integration of occupied territories into Russian infrastructure. One of the key projects is the "Novorossiya Railways" system, which includes a planned 525-km line started in 2023. Since that year, Russia has spent about $425 million on the construction and maintenance of the railway network in the occupied territories. At the same time, road infrastructure is also being developed: the "Novorossiya" highway is being built as part of the 1,400-kilometer "Azov Ring" loop, which is intended to connect the seized parts of Ukrainian regions with Russia and Russian-occupied Crimea. According to Reuters, the new rail and road connections already allow Moscow to circumvent the Crimean Bridge, which had previously been the main road and rail link to the peninsula and remains vulnerable to Ukrainian strikes. Occupied Ukrainian ports that were largely inactive in the first years of the war have been revamped and reopened under Russia's flag on the inland Sea of Azov. Satellite images taken of Mariupol's docks in August 2025 show a new silver-domed facility, and nearby, a mountain of what looks like coal being readied for export. The long-term nature of the infrastructure projects, as well as the scale of investment ($11.8 billion was allocated to develop four occupied Ukrainian regions between 2024 and 2026), shows the Kremlin has no intention of returning the territories to Ukraine as part of any future peace settlement, experts say.show more

🇳🇵| #Nepal | The devastation in #Rasuwa is not... an act of nature. It is the visible wound of a nation that has been carved up and sold by its own political class to foreign corporations and global financial institutions. Nepal's sovereignty has been under quiet, systematic attack for decades, and the landslide is the result. The government of Nepal did not merely fail to protect its people. It actively enabled their destruction through policies that prioritised foreign investment, "development" loans, and infrastructure projects over the lives of those in the mountains. The same pattern we have exposed across India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan is operating here. The globalist machine needs Nepal's rivers, its hydropower, its strategic location between China and India, and its people as a cheap, disposable labour force. What has happened in Rasuwa is part of this same plan. The hydropower rush in the Himalayan rivers has destabilised the slopes. Roads are carved through unstable geology without proper engineering, funded by development banks that demand Nepal remain a debtor nation. Forests are stripped. The people are told to accept "progress." Then the rains come, engineered or not, and the mountain comes down. The state calls it a natural disaster. The media says "pray for Nepal." And the same companies that pushed the projects arrive later for the "reconstruction." Nepal's tragedy is that its people have been taught to see themselves as victims of geography. They are victims of governance. The same globalist networks that are flooding Assam, burning Europe, shaking Turkey and Japan, and bulldozing Palestine are now tightening their grip on the Himalayas. Nepal is a key piece on that board. Its government has signed the agreements. The land has been mapped, zoned, and mortgaged. The people are in the way. I will not pretend that a single, tidy "plan" explains every layer of corruption in Nepal. But I will say this clearly: the flood and landslide did not have to be fatal. The deaths are the result of decades of deliberate neglect, of state capture by local and foreign oligarchs, and of an economic model that treats the mountains and their people as resources to be extracted rather than lives to be protected. The people of Nepal deserve more than prayers. They deserve the truth. That truth is that their government has failed them, and the same invisible system that is devastating the rest of the world is now using their rivers, their mountains, and their grief as fuel. The prayer posts will fade. The system will remain. Unless the people of Nepal, and of every targeted nation, choose to stop accepting the lie that the land is their enemy. The land is not the enemy. The land has been betrayed. The monsoon is the trigger. The real weapon was wielded long before the rain came.show more

Everyone talking about heavy rain & waterlogging across Gurgaon.... Some have even started comparing parts of the city to Venice. Yet in the same city I drove through Cyber City and Golf Course Road during this morning's rain and found main roads largely free of waterlogging. If effective planning and drainage mechanisms can work well in one part of Gurgaon why can't the same approach be replicated across the rest of the city? I Know new drainage projects are underway and infrastructure work is in progress. However Gurgaon’s waterlogging problem is not new. it has persisted for well over a decade. At some point long term solutions need to translate into visible results on the ground. Comparing Gurgaon to cities like New York or Dubai whenever they experience flooding isn't a convincing argument. Those cities also have many world class urban systems that we aspire to emulate. Masindi was left out of the earlier USMID program, but under the new USMID initiative it will be considered. I also directed the Prime Minister to address land-grabbing cases and enforce the Sugar Act to protect our cane farmers. We shall provide more tractors and a new ferry on Lake Albert to boost trade and ease movement. I told the people that Uganda’s oil production, beginning in 2026, will support major national infrastructure like roads, schools and electricity. But we must not over rely on oil. Betrayed by a Settler: Omotoso’s Call is a Slap... to Every Lagos Indigene The leaked audio of Gbenga Omotoso Gbenga Omotoso is a stinging betrayal of every true Lagos State indigene. As the original owners of this land, we watched in disbelief as an official, indigene of Osun State—who holds power on our soil—shamelessly sided with an outsider against the very people he is supposed to represent. In the recording, Omotoso is heard "cooing" to Ella Ada, an Igbo content creator who was filming our BRT terminals without regard for local order. Instead of defending the "passionate Lagosians" (our indigenous youths) who confronted her, Omotoso apologized to her, told her she "did no wrong," and offered her state protection like a prize. He effectively branded the sons of the soil as the "problem" to please a stranger. Let’s be clear: If Gbenga Omotoso were in his ancestral home in Osun, he would never side with a settler against his own kinsmen. He would defend his blood and his heritage. But because he is a "settler" in Lagos, he feels no such loyalty. To him, our ancestral land is just a political playground where he can pander to outsiders at our expense. This is the "liberal" curse of the current administration—inviting guests who eventually spit in the faces of the hosts. We are tired of "mercenary" officials who use our resources to shield those who mock our city's challenges. If your loyalty lies with "settler solidarity" and political optics rather than the indigenous people of Lagos, you have no business in our cabinet. Lagos is not a No-Man’s Land. It is time for leaders who actually bleed for this soil to take charge. If you cannot stand with the indigenes, step down. Signed: Baba Aworishow more

Gated societies are not India's future. Townships are. Think... about why gated societies became so popular in the first place. It was never just about security. People wanted good roads, proper footpaths, parks, greenery, cleanliness... basically a place where they could step out without having to deal with the everyday problems outside. But even the best gated society has one problem. The moment you step outside, you're back to reality. You still have to go to work. Your kids have to go to school. You have to visit hospitals, restaurants, shopping areas and a hundred other places. And you have to navigate the bad traffic, dirty roads, potholes on roads, etc. That's where I think townships come in. I recently visited Bhartiya City in North Bangalore. It's spread across 125 acres and has residential societies, offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, parks... almost everything you need. The roads, footpaths, greenery and public spaces are all maintained by the private developer. You're no longer buying just a flat, but buying an entire environment/ecosystem. And this is happening because people have slowly stopped expecting good public infrastructure from the government. They'd rather pay a private developer to build and maintain it. First we paid extra for a gated society. Now we're paying for an entire town. Think about how crazy that is. People pay so much in taxes, yet they still feel the need to pay again for good roads, parks, footpaths, cleanliness and basic civic infrastructure because they don't expect to get it outside. People are trying to escape the problems of India... while still living in India. I genuinely think this is where Indian real estate is headed. More townships. More self-contained ecosystems. More people choosing to live inside these bubbles because that's where they find the quality of life they're looking for.show more
